  1. If you feel that you can be the very best wife for this man, then marry him. If you know without a doubt that he can be the very best husband for you and a great father for your future kids, then marry him. Age doesn't matter--- love will see you through. My future hubby (we're getting married next year) was not liked by my family because he's shorter than me (I'm 6 foot tall and he's 5'8" or so). Not kidding. Took 4 and half years for them to finally warm up (my Mom was ready to disown me over this nonsense). Thank God for love!
  2. My little Pixie does this to me and I had to completely change how I was handling her to get her to stop doing this. She sleeps in my bedroom and I would keep my bedroom door closed (just like that better) but she'd wait up around 4 or 5 crying in my ear. I found that if I continued to let her out of my room after she was doing the crying that she was being conditioned to cry and she'd be let out. So I stopped doing that. Now I tell her to go back to sleep (she knows the word sleep at this point) and I'll put her back on her spot (my office chair). If she continues to cry (I can tell her usual cry and her really needing something) I'll let her out--- she usually is just a little hungry and wants a few nibbles of food and will then want to go back to bed. So what you could do is designate a room that has a door that can be kept closed and have it as the kitten's sleeping room. Keep a litter box, food, water in there, plus a nice place to sleep. If you keep up this routine the kitten will learn it and know what is expected. Good luck!
  3. The Church will be blamed for many things--- I'm sure Satan is enjoying this very much. As for the gay people committing suicide, I don't know of any church (personally) that teaches that a gay person should kill himself/herself. But the church DOES have the responsibility to teach the faith correctly and homosexuality is a sin, just as pre-martial sex, stealing, and murder are sins. The people who are killing themselves are to blame--- harsh, I know, but as a person who has dealt with depression, I've been down the suicide road and you ALWAYS have a choice. It's truly a shame that these people did not repent of their sins and come to know Jesus in their short lives--- my heart breaks for them, but they didn't have to kill themselves because of the pain they felt from being told that their sexual preference was wrong.
  4. I don't agree with having to make changes just to appease someone, but at the same time perhaps the person who filed the complaint IS really getting sick from the smell. (I can't drink the majority of tap water because most tap water tastes disgusting to me and will make me sick, so I can sorta get how this person feels) And while this article reported it as a Muslim complaint it doesn't mean the person who complained did it based on his or her faith--- details can easily get messed up or assumed when it comes to reporting. If anything, the neighbor and the owners should talk about it--- perhaps they could only cook bacon on certain days, or could microwave the bacon instead of frying it. There are alternatives to having a peaceful environment for the shop owners and the neighbor. And I think that's really what we all want in our lives: peace.
  5. I teach science in a Catholic school to youngsters who are always very excited to learn about Creation. My 4th graders are learning about Newton's Laws of Motion and we had a nice discussion about why Newton's statements were Laws and why evolution is only a theory. Too many students are growing up without being taught about the difference between a law and a theory... let alone being taught about what the Christian faith really teaches. I don't think you can debase the scientific method. It was never designed to prove or disprove God and its the best method we have of accurately understanding our surroundings. A theory is one based on the evidence that allows the majority of scientists to agree that it is plausible that the theory is true. There is data that supports the theory, but data is lacking in some areas (possibly) to allow the theory be an actual Law. A theory does not happen if you have some evidence/data that says its true and some that says it is wrong. The present data must support that the theory is correct. So in a sense, you are proving, at the present time, that the theory has credit but could do with more credit (aka data). Should data be brought up that goes against said theory--- and the data is well supported and repeated through many trials--- then the theory would be either thrown out or rewritten as necessary. In most experimental cases, you are correct: science doesn't tend to prove things but what usually happens is that an idea is proven through prior experiments that disproved certain criteria. So while we can't do a scientific experiment to prove that God created the Earth, we can begin to collect data through controlled experiments (which is difficult in itself to have but one independent variable when you're not in a lab setting) which helps us to disprove certain ideas, thus allowing us to assume some ideas of how this creation came about.
