  1. Yes! I love them all! My all time favorite has still gotta be "I Can Only Imagine" though. Gives me the chills every time I hear it. :il:
  2. Yes, that is so true. My parents do not use theirs very often, so one good thing about it is that your minutes don't expire if you remember to renew on time and your minutes keep adding up. But if you plan to use it often, then a regular cell plan may work best.
  3. I want to thank all of you for your input on my situation! I will just continue to pray for this woman, and for myself to have patience with the her. I spoke with our youth minister about it, and he is planning on himself and one of the deacons speaking with her, about some things that she has done to cause ruffled feathers with others, and he is including the problems that we have had with her as well. Too many people are being hurt by her to let it just go on. I really appreciate all the prayers and encouragment that you all have given me! God bless you!!
  4. I have a related question to our3blessings post - and realated to this scripture, also. And I really don't want to hijack this thread - so ignore me if it takes it in the wrong direction. What about someone who hasn't really sinned against you but has still hurt your feelings? Someone that used to be a very close friend to me has all but disappeared from my life and I have no idea why. I'm hurt by this, but are they really sinning against me? If they are not sinning, should I confront them and how should I go about doing it? Hmm, since you were very close friends with this person, I think it would be okay to just ask them if they are okay, if there is anything that you could do for them. Sometimes my husband will back away from people unknowingly, when he is struggling with something, and just needs some reassurance from friends. I will be praying for you!
  5. I personally don't believe that it should be practiced with the intent upon self or on another god. If someone is meditating in the Lord Jesus Christ along with exercise, that would be different, I think. Did that even make sense?
  6. Do you highly esteem this woman? What i'm saying is, why does she have such power over your emotions? Perhaps you need to ask yourself that. I would avoid her and take anything she had to say like water off of a ducks back if all she ever did was hurt my feelings. I have to see her at least 4 times per week. She is my youngest daughter's Sunday school teacher, preschool teacher, and she is also an elder's wife. She is a very good person underneath it all. There is just something about her that gets under my skin. The last thing that she did was to hurt my oldest daughter when we were at the family retreat this past weekend. She was in charge of getting all the food for the weekend. Well, my daughter has a milk allergy where she cannot eat anything with any milk dirivitives. I spoke with this woman about what to get for her to eat, and she had assured me that she had it all planned out and not to worry. Well, Saturday morning when we went to breakfast, Meg asked her what there was for her to eat (they had fixed biscuits and gravy for everyone else), and this woman lied to her and said she thought I was handling it. I know for a fact that she was supposed to make sure that Meg had something. She had also mentioned it to our youth minister about it and wanted to make sure she remembered. The upseting thing was the lie that was told. She is very outspoken and speaks often about how people in general, never one specific person, is doing something wrong, yet she refuses to see what she does that may be wrong and hurts others. I am not the only one who is hurting because of her. I could go on and on about things she has done to people, but that wouldn't set right with me, so I'll stop here. Sorry, I was just venting...
  7. Hi. I don't personally own one, but my parents do. They like it quite a bit. The only thing is that if you do not renew it before the time period of the minutes that you purchased are over, you will be issued a new phone number which can be a hassle. It is also much cheaper to purchase the most amount of minutes that you can at a time. I hope that helps a little.
  8. This is the biblical way to approach someone with whom there is a disagreement. I also would like to say that God will defend us if we ask Him, let me share a verse with you... Psalm 20 1 The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee; 2 Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion; Throughout the Bible we see examples of God defending the righteous and upright. Let me give you a more personal example. There is a wonderful woman in my church and her and her husband took in a young mother who was in a real bad situation. They loved on her and her child, they allowed her to stay in their home until she could get on her feet. They shared Jesus with her. Well, this young mother begins to spread horrible rumors saying that my friend was cheating on her husband and doing all sorts of sinful things. My Christian friend wanted to pull the young mother's hair out...but do you know what she did? She prayed for that young lady, she never said a word and not long after this young lady publicly confessed that she had lied and spread rumors...God defended my friend...and He can do the same for you! Just give it to Him! God Bless, Debbie Thank you so much, Debbie. I know that it is time that I speak to her. I am very frightened for some reason that I cannot put my finger on. I am usually able to speak to people without much problem, but this person really intimidates me. This is my main concern. I am scared. I know I need to conquer this fear though, but how?
  9. Oh, my goodness, Tess. I just posted a new topic about someone in church hurting me and am asking for help with it. Thank you for your wise words.
  10. Hi everyone! I am having some difficulty in my spriritual walk at the moment. I could use all the advice from Christians that I can get. Hmm, where to start? There is a woman at church who has hurt me repeatedly. I know in my heart that she hasn't meant to do so, but it is to the point that I am breaking down bawling my eyes out over things she has said and done. I have tried not to make an issue over it because I can forgive fairly easily, and I know that she is not trying to be hurtful. Lately though, it has been taking hold of my heart and causing me to feel very down. I am struggling with knowing how to speak to her about this. She is a very outspoken person to start with, and I know she will just end up saying something else to hurt me. I don't want to be angry or cause problems. There are quite a few others who have witnessed her behavior as well, and think that something needs to be done. I have prayed about it often, but I am now wondering if maybe I could be praying for the wrong thing. I feel like God has put her in my life for a reason. I just can't figure it out yet.
  11. If someone told my children about it, then I would reassure them that it was a practice long ago, and that it is not what we are celebrating at all, that what we are celebrating is the changing of the seasons which our Lord has made. Not too difficult. I suppose we are going to just have to agree to disagree on this, and that's fine. I respect your decision to not have anything to do with it. But I truly believe that you need to respect others who do celebrate and believe that we are not doing what is wrong for us. I am in no way doing something evil just because it happens to be on a certain calendar day when there may be others who are involved in evil things. If I believed it was evil, then yes, by all means, I would turn from it, but what we are doing is NOT evil! I don't choose to participate in the satanic side of Halloween, or of anything that humans concocted to be evil. It's just a day that God has made. I hope I am making sense here. And no offence to those who don't or won't celebrate. Just trying to help you understand where we are coming from.
  12. Our physical body, we have not recieved our new bodies as of yet. Though we are a new creation in him many times Paul speaks of the conflict and dual nature in Romans and other passages. Rom 7:22-25 For I joyfully concur with the law of God in the inner man, but I see a different law in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin which is in my members. Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, on the one hand I myself with my mind am serving the law of God, but on the other, with my flesh the law of sin. Our Temple is our Body. 1Corinthians 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? Thank you for answering. I don't know what I was thinking! I knew this!!
  13. Hello, Snowdove! I haven't been posting but for a couple of days, but I wanted you to know that I will be praying for you, and your quick recovery.
  14. Well, I am busy preparing to leave for the weekend to attend a family retreat. The theme is "Journeys with Jesus". I am so very excited to be able to spend this time with my brothers and sisters in Christ as well as my hubby and children. I have a feeling that this will be a very emotional weekend. We are going to stay in cabins at a campground which is very secluded, and it's just lovely. I helped chaperone the youth at their retreat last spring. The youth minister and the teacher of the young adult class are hosting this event. They are both very powerful and encouraging speakers. They will be showing the movie "The Passion of the Christ" on Saturday evening. It is not mandatory to watch, but I am going to see it for the third time. We will have devotionals and prayer time during the course of the weekend as well as personal reflection time. This promises to be an exceptional weekend for us as just recently my husband was angered by some in the church, and has let the bite of the devil grow bitterness on his heart. Please pray for us. It is a long story, but if anyone would like to know what happened, I am willing to share so that I may gain some insight and good advice. God bless you all!
  15. Just curious, but how do cigarettes alter your conscious or your emotional state? I do agree that they are harmful to the body, but we all do/have done things that are harmful to our bodies. Doesn't mean we are hell-bound. I hope I am not sounding like a smarty pants here, I'm really not trying to. I know your not trying to be a smarty pants, it's ok ask questions. I'm easy going. Let me see if I can show you an example, I work in an office building where many go on breaks for cigarettes every fifteen or thirty minutes. One minute there extremely High-Strung and afterwards their cool as a cucumber. They Personally tell me that it changes their emotions for the better and that it relaxes them, and if that description does not show an example of a change in emotion then I don't know what else to say. God Bless! Being honest here: My husband is a smoker of 18 years, and I have never noticed the slightest change in his moods from before or after he has had a cigarette. What I do seem to notice though, is when anyone stands up and walks around after being seated, their energy levels rise naturally. It really doesn't seem to have anything to do with the smoking. See what I saying?

  17. Hello, Heather! The "Bridger Generation" is a book about the generation of people born between 1977 and 1994. It is an interesting read and a real eye opener. The statistics given as to the percentages of this generation being saved are scary to say the least. I haven't gotten too far into it yet, but so far, it has been very educational.
  18. You know, I have been thinking alot about this subject. Some tend to forget the love and concentrate on the evil of things of this world. That fact is that anything and everything could be turned into something unholy. Certain religions do not allow dancing because of the tendencees towards sinning that comes along with it. Well, shoot, then they should outlaw walking down the street as there are some who can make the simplicity of walking into something sadistic. I hope that makes sense! Kind of falls right in line with the thread "Grey areas" huh?
  19. I am getting ready to start a book called "The Bridger Generation" by Thom Rainer. We have been studying it in class for a few weeks now. :flowers:
  20. Shyguy writes: In regards to smoking etc ... Honestly, I see it no different than any other bad thing we do to our body. This is GOD's temple after all. Anything we do, laziness, bad food, smoking, excess alcohol, brings destruction to that which God built. I do not advocate smoking as no good comes from it, unlike alcohol when used properly. One should evalute your life and theirs as a whole and not pick on one aspect. If you truly think about it, we all should be exercising, eating right, not smoking, drinking appropriately, watching less TV, and brushing our teeth. This body is no longer ours its his.... ____________________________________________________________________ Wendy replies: Hi! This post got me thinking... about our "body". Is the Bible referring to our physical body as the temple, or our spiritual body? I had always believed he was referring to our spiritual body. I'm just curious as to what other's thoughts are on this. :flowers: Also, please forgive me, I have not learned to use the quote button yet! Hopefully soon, I can figure out these boards better! :bg:
