WN: US accused of 'occupying' Haiti as troops flood in - Lond
nikki1 replied to WorthyNewsBot's topic in World News
Wide spread lawlessness and looting would be taking place. Interesting, the Israeli field hospital arrived in Haiti two days after the quake I read, and it's the only one equipped to care for the very serious bone breaks and infections that people are dying from who otherwise would have lived. I believe the UN should have planned for at least ten field hospitals within the first few days with the magnitude of this disaster. God help us all if this happens again somewhere soon with the UN at the controls. Blessings, -

That would be awesome! It's not like the UN hasn't been on the Arab's side for most of it's existence. Just look how the body always votes whenever there is a resolution against Israel. Usually it's America on Israel on one side, and the rest of the UN on the other. Ditto!! The UN has always been anti-Israel and pro-Arab. The sooner they get out of America, the better as far as I am concerned. Blessings,

Blessings, Nebula But a building is not "a church". Never-the-less, it is an accurate assessment, and no one will ever convince me that this is the perspective of all Jewish people. To continue to feed this lie does not help our cause in spreading the Gospel of Christ, it hinders it IMO. I know too many Jewish people that know the difference, and it's a shame that some here don't know this. The risen Lord took the penalty for all our sins (you call offenses) on calvary over 2,000 years ago and by his stripes we are healed. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5

Blessings,shiloh357 So was I. You are knit picking to start an argument where there is none by implying that there is also no way we can in full honesty and truthfulness claim that NO true Christians were involved in these things. Yet you have been ignoring this fact as if it was. I think it is very relevant to the issue because you seem to give the impression that only Jewish people are rejected from within their own race and religion, and only Jewish people were persecuted by what you consider
-
No one will ever convince me that the people above involved in this were ever true Christians. To even imply they were is absurd. Blessings,

Blessings, shiloh 357 Based upon what you said, I think my response is quite honest. Persecution is not only inclusive in Judaism. Gentiles are persecuted and Muslim Arabs are brutally tortured and murdered by family members for conversion to Christianity. Most of my family rejected me and didn

Rifqa Bary to remain in foster care until 18
nikki1 replied to nebula's topic in Most Interesting News Developments
There's not too much information here, but it sounds as if some kind of deal was struck. Rifqa probably agreed that she was wrong to run away in exchange that she could stay in foster care away from her muslim parents. I don't understand why the court thinks counselling is necessary to try and "resolve their differences". I wonder what they intend to give her counselling for? Their differences are Christianity vs Islam and the parants will not leave Islam and Rifqa is not about to renounce Christianity. August is not too far away. Then she will be on her own with her Christian firends. All in all, it was a good day for Rifqa Blessings, -

WN: US accused of 'occupying' Haiti as troops flood in - Lond

You may be right. All I am saying is I want to know what the problem was before passing judgment. The problem before which is still being reported is that Doctors Without Borders, and many other groups have become weary and frustrated because life saving medical equipment, food supplies and water being carried by cargo planes are being turned away at the Haiti airport by American military. Yet, military planes carrying US troops were given priority at the airport, backlogging the airport. I read that there is room for 90 planes at the airport. France had a plane that was turned away carrying a full field hospital, equipment for surgeries and intensive care. People are dying because of compound bone fractures and infections that need surgery and this field hospital is desparately need. Israel is the only team in Haiti with a fully equipped field hospital that does life saving surgeries and other major medical procedures. This news has been all over radio, TV and internet for the past three days that I know of. It's being reported that people are dying in the streets because of their injuries obtained in the quake because there is no place to care for them and no supplies. America troop build up came first and now has 11,000 troops in Haita and the UN also has thousands; they get through the airport yet people are dying in the streets because medical supplies and field hospitals have been turned away at the airport because supposedly of backlog. Well, that one is on the UN, not the US military. Really, it is easy to be a arm chair critic. the fact is the US as a government and as private organization and citizens are sending more aid to Haiti than any other country - unless you have a new figure that states otherwise? If the US military didn't step in, who would do any coordinating? I understand the coordination hasn't been perfect, but without being there, can you judge whether or not they could have coordinated better from the get-go? Saving lives by getting food supplies, water and medical supplies is a top priority in any given natual disaster. Again, I am not blaming the American military.. I believe the fault lies with the UN who is directing the rescue operations. American troops at the airport are only following orders. As soon as France complained to the UN, the problem was resolved and the priorities at the airport changed to allow for emergency supplies to save lives as a priority. I don't have to be there. The fact that the US military changed their priorities to allow for emergency food supplies and medical equipment to be first tells me something was wrong from the get go. I'm an arm chair critic because I voiced a life endangering concern? I am very happy that France complained to the UN because it got the UN's attention to do something about their priorities at the Haiti airport and that in itself is a good thing for the needy victims involved. Blessings, -
http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1143649.html Israeli rescue team to stay in Haiti for another month UN to send 3,500 additional troops to Haiti More than 11,000 U.S. military personnel are on the ground in Haiti, on ships offshore or en route. This includes Marines and troops from the 82nd Airborne. U.S. officers say that the American troops' main mission is humanitarian, to participate in and help protect a huge international aid distribution operation for earthquake victims. But they add they will also be ready to boost security in Port-au-Prince if necessary.

Before you huff and puff at the American military, I would like to hear the reasons for this. Why were the planes turned away? OK - found something: Among the difficulties faced by US military air traffic controllers in charge of the relief effort was the lack of a control tower or radar, combined with shortages of fuel and even staircases to access planes. The Haitian government said that there was no room on ramps for planes to unload their cargo and that some aircraft on the ground did not have enough fuel to leave. -

Blessings, Shiloh 357 The same can be said that there is no way you can in full honesty and truthfulness claim that a true Christian was involved, .. It really serves no purpose and is meaningless to become suspicious and go looking for a problem when there is none. Let me tell you about a Jewish friend of mine. He loves the God of the Old Testament and believes Jesus was a great prophet for Jews and Gentiles alike, and that we need to prepare the way for the coming of the Messiah through repenting. He believes that if Jesus comes again, that would indeed prove He is the Messiah. His attitude is sorta like a wait and see one because the Messiah doesn

Here's some great pictures of the team Israel sent to Haiti to assist in rescue efforts for earthquake victims..... Also, be sure to click on the links to the right where it says "Recent Posts"... there's more pictures of the IDF Medical Team in Haiti and one with a new born baby Pictures: IDF Rescues Haitian Man in Collapsed Building, 17 Jan 2010 The IDF medical and rescue team in Port-au-Prince rescued a Haitian government worker on Saturday afternoon, who was trapped in the ruined customs office in the city. The man was trapped for 90 hours, before being evacuated in a moderate manner to the IDF field hospital. The evacuation lasted about 8 hours, and is the first rescue by IDF forces of a live survivor. The IDF field hospital in Port-au-Prince was established in 8 hours on Saturday, and has treated more than 100 survivor. 30% of the injured in the hospital are defined severe, 50% are defined moderately injured and the rest are defined lightly injured. More than half of the injured are beneath the age of 16. The majority of injuries are limb injuries and bone fractures while 10 life saving surgeries were preformed Blessings,

No thread on Pat Robertsons dumb Haiti comment?
nikki1 replied to exrockstar's topic in General Discussion
Blessings, Sam Ditto here.. I would never of gotten involved in this discussion except for the fact I was disgusted at the way the media took what PR said and ran with it, distorting what he said, thereby making all Christians look bad. -
I would not call that a Christian congregation or a congregation belonging to the Lord Jesus Christ Blessings, See, therein lies the problem Historically, the church has been the chief persecutors of the Jewish people. The early church fathers saw the Jews as the emblem of God's contempt, and as a rejected people sentenced to wander throughout the world in misery. That stigma continued for centuries. Even today, while contempt for Jews by Christians is not expressed in pogroms and inquisitions, and synagogue burnings, it is expressed as Replacement Theology, and as a repudiation of modern state of Israel and so forth. But I digress... The early church fathers provide a lot of foundational material for the church today. Men like Augustine, Origen, Ignatius, Chrysostom and others who were avowed Jew haters and made no secret of their absolute hatred and complete contempt for the Jews, are often quoted from pulpits. So either they were Christian that hated Jews, or they were not Christians, did belong to the "Lord's Church" and thus many have been basing their theology on the writings and teachings of unsaved men. Blessings, shiloh357 In all honesty, I don't see this as a problem, except here at Worthy where this topic constantly causes strife and discord. God will deal with the men you mention at the judgment. The teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ command for his followers to love one another, and even our enemies and do not promote the murdering of any person or race, so obviously they were what the Bible calls wolves in sheep's clothing, and not Christians. No person born again of God having the Holy Spirit living inside of them could do such a thing. Most Jewish people that I know understand this once it is explained to them and do not harbor such bitterness as I have seen here in thread after thread on this topic since I have been here. It really serves no purpose and doesn't glorify God at all. We must put off our bitterness, and forgive others for offenses done against us and move forward in the love of Christ that He wants us have and share with others. We can't do that if we are harboring anger and bitterness, which is a tool of satan to rob us of our joy. We must not allow this because the Bible says the joy of the Lord is our strength. Gentile Christians are tortured and persecuted every day around the world, and have to forgive their torturers the same as Messianic Jews do who have lost family members in the Holocaust. Gentile Christians died in the Holocaust too. Jews, messianic or not and Christians will always be persecuted and hated in this world. That is why we need the joy of the Lord to strengthen us.
