  1. Some of the beliefs that you have listed they did believe and some they didn't. Today
  2. Hi, about three years ago I started to suffer from anxiety just out of the blue, while I was visiting a friend in Indonesia. It started gradually and got worse each day. At first I thought it might be because I was in a strange environment, but that didn't figure because I have travelled a lot. After thinking a while I thought it could be down to my change in diet, so I took stock and found that it was the local coffee there that was making me feel paranoid if I drank too much. When I cut back on the coffee the anxiety went away and I have been OK ever since. I am not saying that it is coffee making you feel bad and anxious but there might be some thing in your diet that is upsetting you and affecting the way you think and feel. Our bodies can be very robust and hardy, but on the other hand the slightest thing can affect the fine tunning of the mind and spirit. Best regards Joseph Jones
  3. For a little while I have been trying to find an email address for the Los Angeles University Cathedral. The museum Curator. I have some information relating to one of their exhibits. I have tried to contact them by telephone but couldn
  4. There is no way that 75% of the population of London could be Muslim. The population in London is very diverse, there are a lot of people from Asia and Africa but I would doubt that more than 10-20% are Muslim. I don't live there but I was born there a lot of my family live there and I was there last Sunday. I hate to contradict your wife or the Christian website she got her info from, but you can't believe every thing you read on the internet, because it doesn't make a difference between fiction, reality and mis-information. Regards Joseph Jones (Just outside London)
  5. Dear Another Traveller, Thanks for the website addresses but I am looking for an email address for some one at the Cathederal. I tried to telephone them but it was useless and I don't favour snail mail these days. Takes too long to the states from here as does the reply. Nice of you to try to help. Best regards Joseph G. Jones
  6. Dear Footsteps, Most people would describe them a s a cult, but they have always been open to change and now I am sure they are different to their early phase. Probably they are on a par with Jehovas Witneses or Mormons. They have a strong belief in God and are well meaning but don't follow the beliefs and thinking of the main church. Here is their website: http://www.thefamily.org/about/ Dear Tess, If you are interested in who the Children of God (Now called the Family) are there wedsite is above. If you would like an independent review of who they are there is a website: http://www.religioustolerance.org/fam_love.htm Dear Called, The reason I say that the Children of God did me some good is as follows: When I joined I was 19 years old, from a poor family, with low self esteem, no life experience, poor education and a massive chip on my shoulder. By the time I left the Children of God they had taught me that the world was my oyster, that I didn't need to look to the state for help to get on in my life and ultimately helped me to believe in myself. Of course they also taught me to other beliefs that made it impossible to ever go back to the church I had come from. They also taught me to brain wash myself into relying on them as my family which made in difficult to fit back into the real world as most people percieve it. Perhaps that explains a little. By the way I wasn't trying to collect more of their literature, I have enough already. Dear Yukon, The website of the group is above if you are interested take a look, but if you contact them make sure you are strong in your own beliefs first. Dear Adstar, The media always accused the Children of God of sexual abuse because it makes a good headline and the authorities accused them because some of their literature contained pictures and themes that could be interpreted that they were promoting that. But on the whole I am sure it didn't go on any more than it does in the established churches, and as we all know the Catholic church has really suffured a lot of bad press relating to that recently. Best regards to you all and thanks for responding to my post. Joseph G. Jones (Buckinghamshire, North of London, England)
  7. Does any one know how I can contact some one from the The Los Angeles University Cathedral ? Preferably by e-mail as I am in the UK. My last request for help got 0 response. Best regards, Joseph Jones
  8. I am posting from England, reason being I have a model of Jerusalem which is the same as the model on display in the Cathederal in LA. I have beeen trying to find out information about this model for a long time now (without sucess). From the LA Cathederal Website I get the impression that they have more info than they are displaying on the website. I have tried to telephone them but it was liking banging my head against a brick wall. The person who I spoke to didn't know any thing, and wasn't at all helpful. They don't accept email there so I am at a bit of a loss as to know what to do. Is there anyone here who might attend the Cathederal, and know any thing about the model ? Best regards Joseph Jones
