  1. The muslims just don't seem to get it. How can they justify chanting death to Israel? Where have there been protests where the people chanted death to Iran or Syria? Don't they know that the rest of the world is watching? Their calls for the death of Israel only cause more nations to support Israels actions in light of the popular muslim sentiment. I really am glad to see our nation stand with Israel despite our own devisions. It gives me hope. Israel has been at the receiving end of an undying hatred that has managed to masque itself from the rest of the world. It's also comforting to know that Christian nations, like Australia, are not oblivious to Israels significance.
  2. Many of them are ignoring the fact the Hezballah is firing rockets into Israel. If the only thing that happened was the kidnapping of a couple soldiers then sure the amount of force being used might be considered excessive, but not only did Hezballah kidnap 2 soldiers, they killed at least 5 others in the process and then began launching rockets at random into Israel. It's unfortunate that civilian infastucture had to be destroyed in order to contain those responsible for these acts but it is a necessary evil if they are to be brought to justice. The civilian casualties are most regretable but I believe the Israelis did everything within their power to minimise civilian casualties. The Lebanese civilians were told both by television and radio, as well as leaflets, to stay clear of known Hezballah facilities, but some ignored this. Even so the loss of innocent life is tragic no matter whether or not one sees such deaths as unavoidable.
  3. Doh! I did forget about that. They still haven't caught Osama and arent likely to. He will likely die of old age or illness before they catch him. I guess thats why I wonder why we are still there. The national security of Afghanistan is not really our concern is it? Especially when they are discussing re-implementing laws that were imposed by the Talliban which we are there to protect them from? wheres the sense in that? I can understand continuing to hunt for Osama Bin'ladin but I think the Afghan forces have had plenty of time to pull themselves together.
  4. Our government has certainly rubbed quite a few countries the wrong way for sake of "strategic alliances" and "strategic partners". There is no denying that. I still don't see that as being any reason to allow the chief sponsor of terrorism to develope weapons of mass destruction. Nuclear energy? Sure. Fine. But nuclear weapons? Thats like saying that terrorists have just as much right to biological weapons as the rest of us. Noone has a RIGHT to weapons with such desructive power. Thats like saying that this high school student has just as much right to carry a handgun to school as that student. Who are we to say who should and shouldn't be allowed to carry a loaded handgun around school? Or, look at it this way. Who are we to say that the school bully shouldn't be allowed to carry a knife when all the other kids are allowed to carry pepper spray? It makes that much sense. Like it or not, nuclear weapons are hear to stay, but that doesn't mean that every country or government on this planet should have an arsenal full of them does it? Besides, Iran doesn't need nuclear weapons when they have all that oil to lord over everyone. the only plausible reason for them to want nuclear technology is to develope nuclear weapons and I can gaurantee that they do not want them only as a deturant. Just as soon as they have nuclear weapons they will expect every nation within reach of their missiles to bow to them, not unlike our own government is accused of.

Most people are not likely to wait for court to be adjourned to express their relief at the verdict. In this case the defendent? was not informed that he was to remain silent untill court was out. I do not know how loud the man got that the judge thought that he was disturbing the court but considering how Christianity has been under attack it's understandable how some could perceive this judges charges of contempt as biased and descriminatory.
  6. when did border security BECOME an issue and when was it NOT an issue? it just seems like about 6 months ago everyone started talking about it. what happened to trigger that? I would have to say that border security became an issue when the American people realised the government was lot living up to its promises. It was not an issue untill it became public knowlege that illegal immigrants were becomming a drain on the economy. Six months ago the house of representives passed a bill making being here illegally a criminal offense (punishable by a minumum 5 year sentence) and made it a crime to offer any form of aid to those in the U.S. illegaly. Before long there were hispanic immigrants from one coast to the other protesting and calling people, who wanted a tighter border, racist. I have had mixed feelings about how to handle the immigrants that were already here except that they needed to either assimilate or go home. The border, however, has been my biggest concern and seemed to be the first thing that needed to be taken care of. I, like many others, don't have a problem with immigration or immigrants, as we are accused. I have a problem with the uncontrolled flow of undocumented immigrants who have no desire to become citizens and have become a burden to our already taxed welfare, school and medical systems. While they have some benefit to our economy, in some areas, the overall effect is not a beneficial one. Without some controll of our southern border the flow of illegal immigrants will continue as our leaders squable about this measure and that in a "comprehensive bill" that is a mile long with plenty of room to shoehorn a couple special provisions for some political action group or corperate lobby group. Meanwhile the border remains wide open and illegals continue to cross it with new found determination and our leaders are stuck trying to figure out what to do with those that have rushed in since the 1998 amnesty.
  7. We shall see. They should have voted "unanimously" to bolster secuity along the border as their first order of business when this first became an issue. The whole idea of a "comprehensive" bill coming out of our senate leaves a bitter taste in the mouths of most americans. Comprehensive is code for "make it so long we can hide anything we want in it and be ambiguous in it phrasing so as to leave room for personal interpretations of it".

HONOLULU - Junior Stowers raised his hands and exclaimed, "Thank you, Jesus!" in court last month when he was acquitted by a jury of abusing his son. But his joy was short-lived when Circuit Judge Patrick Border held him in contempt of court for the "outburst" and threw him in jail. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/13898471/
  9. They should take people like this and put them out in an open field and detonate their bombs for them. I have no sympathy for those who kill so willfully.
  10. More proof that Iran should not be allowed to produce or posess nuclear weapons. Their sponsorship of terrorists groups is imperical evidence that Iran ultimately wishes to face off with Israel and the world needs to take action and stop talking. The evidence is overwhelming and should Russia and China resist unified action against such rogue nations then they would only confirm that they are at the mercy of the nations in question and are just as guilty as those who sponsor it. I think China and Russia need to begin abstaining from future security counsil votes and let the rest of the world powers deal with this threat. Like it or not these nations exist and have very real designs to make war on Israel through whatever means they feel they can get away with.
  11. You know that Ahmadinejad secretly admires Hitler for killing so many Jews so you have to wonder why he would insult Hitler by associating him with those he sought to eliminate. They need to put Ahmadinejad in a padded room and throw away the key.
  12. As long as the russian leaders show that they have no interest in world opinion regarding security issues then why should the rest of the world believe they have an interest in the world economy?
  13. I too wish very much to see our troops withdraw from Iraq as soon as possible but only when Iraq will be able to handle its own security problems. I am less concerned with trying to rebuild their entire country for them as long as the infrastructure is intact at the time of withdrawl. When nations like Afghanistan debate re-implementing sharia law I just assume pull out and let Kharzia deal with the Talliban himself. I, for one, am confused about how we wound up in Afghanistan to begin with. How are these regional warlords a threat to United States security?
  14. I think your friend is mis-quoting and therfore misunderstanding the meaning of the verse. It does not say do unto others as they do unto you but as you would HAVE them do unto you. It means to treat others the way you would wish to be treated.
  15. i dont have one but my wife does as do her friends. im not familiar w/ the 'bashing' you speak of but i may look into myself just to get a perspective on it. what type of ridicule do you speak of? it may sound crass, but there is infact bashing here as well, just as there are in some churches today. also, what is the 'risk' being taken if anti-christians come on the boards? whats wrong w/ inviting them? You will just have to check it out yourself. You seem to misunderstand. I am not speaking of your average everyday atheist but anti-christians, as in people who hate Christians. The risk of inviting them (anti-christians) here is that they would likely overwhelm our board and prevent us from having any worthwhile discussions as it is on myspace. The other risk is that we have enough trouble with hackers already and don't need to bring Worthy to the attention of any more then we already have. We already have our share of headaches here at worthy and I would not feel good about being responsible for them having to shut it down.
  16. Tell him that you fully intend to die for your beliefs. He really didn't need to ask. Besides, he is not cursing you when he does so in rejection of Gods truth, he is cursing God.
  17. Do any of you have a myspace? Have you been into the religious forums? I have, and all I hear is Christian bashing. I originally thought that there would be an opportunity to spread the gospel but the more I go the more it seems like open season on Christianity. I contunue to seek people to invite to worthy boards but I keep thinking that we should also step out of our comfort zone and stand up for what we believe and stand by those who press on despite the opposition. Even the discussion groups seem to be plagued with non-believers with nothing better to do then to cause Chrisitians grief. I don't know about the other religious discussion groups, but I doubt they face the same ridicule that the Christians do. I will have to make it a point to verify that. Anyhow, I just thought I would get your opinions on what could or should be done, if anything, to support the Myspace Christians and offer them an opportunity to join us here without risking inviting the Anti-christians here as well.
  18. Thats all you can hear from the Arab nations these days is Zionist this and Zionist that when it is Islam that is at the heart of all this violence and conflict. The Arab world just needs to grow a pair and admit that they are not peaceful and desire not only the destruction of Israel but the death of every Jew on the face of the planet. When they are done with the Jews they will seek to covert of kill every living living person on the planet until the whole world is Muslim. I am tired of the muslims hiding behind their terrorists and outright lying to the rest of the world, convincing them that they are peace loving and that they think all religions are equal. This is the whole purpose behind the tolerance preaching is to cull the planetary heard to the wolves have an easier time feeding.
  19. Not likely. If I am not mistaken their eyes, hearts and ears have been "closed" to the truth and would take an act of God to have them restored.
  20. The U.S. needs to wash its hands of Afghanistan and focus on getting Iraq outfitted to maintain security within its own borders. I can only hope that out government is not trying to provide it with an army sufficient enough to repel Iran. They would be a very long time indeed trying to do that. The U.S. military needs to stay out of Iraqi affairs and see if they can handle it. If they can't then more work needs to be done, if they can then they need to go ahead and leave them to it, and that includes rebuilding.
  21. This statement is more than mere speculation, it's a malicious rumor. You either need to stick to the facts and provide your proof at the time you make these statements, or keep them to yourself. I figured someone would say that. I heard this from a person who will remain nameless because they are the soldier in question. I heard it right from the soldier's mouth, and I'd rather not give more details for reasons I'm sure you can understand. Did this person say that they had done this themselves, that they had witnessed it, or that they had heard of it happening? While I believe it is possible and that it has been kept a secret by our military, I find it very unlikely that had actually happened. I find it easier to believe in acts of unprovoked violence than I do a soldier playing with his rocket launcher and accidentaly destroying a house and the people living in it.
  22. I have not yet found myself trembling in fear but, as others have experienced, I do sometimes find myself trembling with excitement when I am in a deeply spritual conversation. When I think about the statement about working out your salvation with fear and trembling I am reminded of the many times my father caught me doing something naughty. There were times when I had plenty of time to think about what I had done on the trip home as I sat in the back of the car. I can tell you that there was plenty of fear and a noticable amount of trembling involved. I never doubted that my father loved me, no matter how harsh his reaction but I certainly found myself questioning whether he would ever forgive me. We are told that if we repent and ask forgiveness that we will be forgiven. We should also that the measure of our groveling and pleading will also play a role in how severe our punishment will be, and so it is with God. The measure of your pleading will likely be in proportion to the sin that you have commited. Thats just the way it seems to me, though I may be mistaken.
  23. You may want to check and see if this man has married and had children. According to what I have read he will have no sexual desires and a such will not likely be married nor will he have any children to speak of, unless he tries to outwit us by adopting.
  24. The way I see it, the problem with Islam is the Koran. The problem with the Koran is that people believe it to be the truth when it is nothing more than the cobbling of Judeo history and the malicious desires of a self proclaimed prophet who worshiped the moon God Allah. How anyone can convince themselves that killing those who will not convert is a peaceful act is perplexing. Just as we have those among us that claim to be Christians when they are far from it, I have no doubts that there are also those amont the Muslims that make the similar claim to be muslim when they are truly peace loving people. God have mercy on us all and may his truth and glory be shown for the whole world to see and cause them to fall to their knees and weep in fear and shame.
