Worthy News: Iran offered N. Korea oil for weapons help
O'Dannyboy replied to George's topic in World News
Not a surprise. -
Untill anything can be confirmed it will be buisiness as usual. With all the claims it looks like the arab media is trying to draw some heat off of him. He may be injured but its not likely he is dead.

Indeed we should all be thankful. Whether or not we are aware of it, we are blessed each day. We are blessed in such abudance that we are enabled to become blessings to those around us. We can only pray that as we bless those around us they see Christ in us.

This is yet a another blatant attack on the Christian faith. Rest assured had the student been leading satanic rituals in their dorm room the University would have had nothing to say about it. (They) will stop at nothing to subdue and inhibit the study and worship of our lord Jesus. Truely we should pray for such people that they to may see the light before they give up the ghost.

ama article To the left of this article are pictures of performers and those who presented the awards. I have to admit I am a little confused why they would have actors and actresses from "popular" television programs handing out the awards. If you were a musician wouldn't you prefer someone like Tina Turner, Lionel Richie or Mick Jagger to hand you your award? And whats with Pamella Anderson and Paris Hilton handing out awards? They even go as far as to call Paris Hilton an "actress" and a model. The mainstream media must take us for fools to fall for that. Perhaps I should try for a "reality show" too, then I too could be called an actress. What part of "reality" is acting? Maybe in the world of Jerry Springer fans but not by me.

You are right SJ. These men to whom you refer undoubtedly had slaves but should not be considered "founding fathers" since their names/signitures are not on the declaration of independence. Kinda makes ya wonder why there was ever a war if they were so eager to see them leave in the first place.

Worthy News: US Says IAEA Report Shows Iran Has Plans for Nuclear Weap
O'Dannyboy replied to George's topic in World News
Regardless of how long its taking, at least the rest of the world is finally realising Irans real intentions. They have no real need or desire for nuclear generated electricity. Their military is very large and very well equipped so it would be a major indeavor to bring their country into submission. There are two obvoius reasons why they would want nuclear weapons. First, to counter the threat from the United states, second, to enable its Islamic government to "wipe Isreal off the map". I can fully understand them wanting a deterant to U.S. agression. However after the many displays of agression towards their neighbors (Iraq and Israel) it would not be wise for the rest of the world to turn a blind eye. As rumor has it, North Korea has been assisting Iran with its program and claims to have its own Nuclear warheads. This being the case there is every possibility that Iran is already in possession of several nuclear warheads. Not long into the war in Iraq, Iran felt it necessary to posture itself before the U.S. and issued several warnings that any agression would be countered with "suprising" consequences. Now what do you think they could have meant? World events continue to "heat up" as it were. Most of us, here at WB, are aware of, if not versed in, the end time prophecies of the Holy Bible. There are many that will, and do, discount the major catastrophies as naturaly occuring. But for me, one unmistakable sign would be to see Israels enemies emboldened by the possession of such a weapon. -
Great article! We can only hope that our leaders also read and understand this article. There is nothing in this article that I disagree with.

I have to admit you all have some very valid points. The one misconception is to think that men created this great nation. I fully believe that G_d was fully in control of ALL things then, as he has always been. There should be little doubt that G_d created and molded this country from inception regardless what the founding fathers believed. Parhaps the country was not founded on principles that only Christianity can claim. But, I have no doubts that it was founded on principles whose only source could have been G_d.

I have had yams made many different ways. One way used cinnimon and another used brown sugar but I have to admit, the pinapple sure does sound good.

I saw a documentary relative to this last night. I wouldn't go as far as to say "founded" on Christianity. As Dani so elequently put it, our founding fathers formed this country based on Christian principles. The purists/pilgrims left Britain/England in search of a land where they could worship free of the influence of the RCC. They first settled, in Norway, but did not find the freedom of religion they saught. From there they chartered the infamous Mayflower and headed to the Americas where they finally landed at Plymouth Rock. I would have to say the the Majority of the leaders from this time had a healthy respect for G_d and/or the peoples feelings about G_d. It is most aparent that Christianity had a HUGE impact on the formation of this country and its system of government.

Worthy News: Iraqi Leaders Call for Military Exit Schedule
O'Dannyboy replied to George's topic in World News
I get the feeling this "request" for a time table was prompted by Washington to save face. There is no way the Iraqi government could consider themselves ready to control the country. I have no doubts that Washington full intends to keep a small contigent (25k) in the region to quell any uprisings and/or to prevent a civil war. There is also the possibility that preparations have been made in Kuwait to house a large number of troops, "just in case". -
Worthy News: Iran Votes to Block Nuclear Inspections
O'Dannyboy replied to George's topic in World News
Sorry Othello. Everything you say is contrary to what the Bible teaches. If you did indeed believe the Bible, you would love and pray for the Jews, "for it is through the Jews that salvation comes". Jesus, the Christ, was himself a Jew yet you would curse and condemn his people? -

How convenient for Washington. This is supposedly what our leaders have been waiting for. -
Worthy News: Iran Is Building Nukes in Underground Locations
O'Dannyboy replied to George's topic in World News
This would not surprise me at all. So far, the largest hurdle is the inteligence and with our track record its doubtfull the U.S would be very convincing. The worst the world community could do to Iran, at this point, is impose sanctions. -
The Liberals have been calling for a pullout since the beginning. The republicans just called their bluff. Did you notice the results of the vote were? Only 3 voted for an immediate withdrawl. To even think of an immediate withdrawl from Iraq is just plain stupidity. The republicans have been outright abused when it comes to the war. The liberals blame them for the war and accuse them of wanting a war, any war. The republicans gave them a chance to have their voices heard by putting it to a vote. They are not being so vocal about a pulltout now are they? NOW they want a timeline set.

Worthy News: Iran Votes to Block Nuclear Inspections
O'Dannyboy replied to George's topic in World News
Nuclear weapons are NOT for defense and never have been. As far as I know the people of the world are pretty much in agreement that no nation that advocates the destruction of another nation should be allowed to possess nuclear weapons. Even before the U.S. Invaded Iraq, Iran touted missiles with banners that said "death to Israel" in parades in Tehran. I for one don't distpute Irans right to provide nuclear powered electricity to its people. But I am fearful of a nation, whose president openly calls for Isreal to be "whiped off the map", having nuclear weapons. Look at North Korea. Since announcing they had Nuclear weapons, they have done nothing but make demands of the rest of the world. They insist they be provided a light water reactor before they will relinquish their nukes. The trick is that a light water reactor is a source of weapons grade material. Governments like that of North Korea and Iran are not safe and cannot be trusted with such power. -
As I heard it last night, his entire family has disowned him. The Govt. of Jordan has also sworn to do all they can to bring him to justice. Somehow the people in Iraq are overlooking the 25 million dollar reward for his capture.

All very good questions. We are not likely to get answers to these questions here but they do deserve an answer.

Worthy News: Iran Votes to Block Nuclear Inspections
O'Dannyboy replied to George's topic in World News
Its not like the Iranian Govt. is allowing them (IAEA) complete access to all questionable facilites. I could understand Iran doing so if they were being candid and open about their programs, facilites, and intent, but they are only allowing limited access to specific facilites and sites. Iran is not likely to agree to the new offer either. They have already said , point blank, that they feel it is their right to control the complete cycle, enrichment and all. They want their nuclear weapons and don't think the rest of the world has or should have any say in it. Meanwhile any referals to the U.N. Security council would no doubt be shot down by either Russia, China or both.......again. Once Iran has nuclear weapons it will surely feel safe enough to launch attacks on Israel, perhaps not nuclear strikes, but they will, most assuredly, become much more agressive. -
His sentiments echo just what Satan would like you to beleive about the followers of Christ. We are viewed more and more as a "threat". G_ds' will be done.

It won't be long before they are ready to challenge the tax exempt status of all Christian churches in the U.S.

Thanks for the recipe. That one looks pretty standard except for the bacon bits. I did see the bacon used in a couple other recipes but am still reluctant to use it because it has such a power flavor. I might use it if it doesn't turn out the way I want. I will not be making Yams since its pretty much the last thing I would put on my plate so far everything else you folks have mentioned looks pretty tasty to me. Thanks for all your input.

I am a serious cat lover and sorely miss having one around. Perhaps, in the future, I will go to the local shelter and find a companion.
