  1. ---------- According to a historical study about 8 Percent of all the wars the past 4000 years have been fought over religion. The other 92 percent have been cased by other things. Shiloh357 is correct concerning the wars in the 20th century as these many great wars had nothing to do with religion whatsoever.
  2. That article was interesting. The Israeli archaeologists or any other archaeologists that would proclaim such things are basing their viewpoint on non-Biblical evolutionary naturalism, and not on the Biblical proclaimation that God created mankind at a particular point in time. The idea that mankind was some other type of creature and then evolved to modern man cannot be proven and is in direct contradiction with science. A person or any simple cell creature that exists shows that within the creature there has to be information within the creature for its life existence. There has never been any verification nor can there be of any creature evoloing from a lower form to a higher form. The comments are mere speculation based upon an naturalistic viewpoint with no creator involvement. One couild for sure understand that in making such claims they would not believe in the Bible Adam/Eve creation or the world wide flood of Noah. Now we know that anyone proclaiming evolutionary naturalism would not hold to these Biblical truths considering that the Biblical truth is in direct contradiction with naturalism, and indeed does poke holes in their theory. We only have to look at Romans 1:18 see how they come up with their theories. An interesting book that I recently purchased is titled Cencored Science - The Suppressed Evidence by Bruce Malone which is a great discussion about creation and evolution ----- a good book to read.
  3. Genesis 1.26 gives a hint to the Trinity of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The angels are a created creatures so they do not have such creative powers. Hear O Israel the Lord thy God is one. Elohim is Hebrew --- I think for God but maybe for Lord, (one or the other) but it is Hebrew and it is Plural, not a singular meaning. Therefore the Father, Son and Holy Spirit afre included in the statement that the Lord thy God is one. The Trinity.
  4. I believe that the fullness of the Gentiles is the people who come to Jesus before his rapture. Now one can say that it is an actual number but - how many - we do not know - only the good Lord knows the actual number. Now additional gentiles along with the Jewish remnant will believe in the Messiah after the rapture, during those seven tribulation years. The good Lord will save his people Israel, as when the nations mess with the Jewish people and Israel they are the apple of God's eye. Zechariah 2.8.
  5. They seem to claim that they have found Noah's Ark. In any case it would be incased in ice on the mountain. Of course some may not believe that it is Noah's Ark even if the all the ice would melt and the ship would slide down the mountain into the valley below for everyone to see it. The good Lord proclaims in his word that the ark is on that mountain -- so it is.

  7. The church has not replaced Israel. We are a wild vine grafted in. The promises for Israel --- their land ---- and their future promises of the Messiah's kingdom are eternal promises. The promises made to Abraham were before the law. God made the promise to Abraham while Abraham was asleep, so the covenant with Abraham was based upon the good Lord's word and not on Abraham and his desendents actions. As you mentioned Romans 9, 10 and 11 talk about the fact that God has not forgotten his people Israel. Unfortunately some churches teach a replacement theology idea, which is not Biblical.
  8. Now that is the best comment I have heard yet. You are correct. We Christians must remember to study the word all of the time. We must be good as the Bereans --- Acts 17.11. Spoon feeding is a problem in the church ==== people think that they can go to church once a week, listen to scripture and then that is OK for the whole week. We forget that a believer has an enemy (who is a defeated enemy) but an enemy none the less. The lack of study makes it possible for the various religious fads that occure in the chuches from time to time. Such fads have nothing whatsoever to do with salvation and/or Biblical truth for that matter. Example would be "Slain in the Spirit" ---- which is a recent fad that is proclaimed throughout some churches or church groups, and never once will anyone find that expression in the Bible. These religous fads seem to occur because people do not know their scripture, and want to be entertained. One wonders if the amazing grace of salvation through Jesus that believers receive in repenting and accepting him as savior by faith is not enough.
  9. It seems that the people or leaders or pastors that will fall away are a part of the "church organization". Now whether they were actually born again Christians --- one has to wonder. It would seem that if that was the case they should be shaking in their boots so to speak when they consider their actions that they are taking. Perhaps they really do not believe the scriptures. We must remember that even when we consider the apostles, ==== Judus Iscariot was one of Jesus twelve apostles for sure but was actually never one of them in spirit, as the scripture expains. The pastors may have a desire to fill up the pews which relates to the potential of more funding for their church, -- so these pastors may tickle the ears of their people rather than tell them Bible truths. Such wolfs in sheeps clothing are troublesome for sure, but at the same there actions verify scripture. The Bold Believer person mentioned the wheat and the tares which sure is valid in this discussion.
  10. First time on this forum. There will continue to be trouble between Israel and its neighbors. Many are now wondering of Israel will be forced to attack Iran to knock out their nuke facilities. Of course only the good Lord knows all of the details and what will come on any day in the future. There are a few ideas from scripture --- one may be that the Ezekiel 38 & 39 war where Israel's neighbors attack --- the Magog war ----- it seems that Russian and many Arab countries will be involved. Also there is a point where Isaiah 17 ---- the destruction of Damacus may come into play as well, considering that Syria with their hatred for Israel as well as their support for the various terror groups that constantly harrass Israel. But the good Lord will protect Israel because he proclaimed this over and over again in scripture, so they will not be destroyed. I think that these things may happen before the rapture. The good Lord can use any method to get mankind's attention to show that he is the true God and that there is none else. Perhaps this will also be a great method to wake people up to their need for a savior. These things I believe may occur before the rapture, and before Satan's counterfeit will arise.
