  1. You are comparing Paul to Job and the that is not correct. Job was under the Law and if he followed all the laws and sacrifices and was obedient in al that was commanded of him by God, God saw him as righteous. How can you dispute who God judges as righteous? Paul was under Grace. You cannot equate the two.
  2. Yes under the law but then the Ten Commandments which are under the law fit also. They then do not now apply to us?
  3. Obscurantist- a person who deliberately prevents the facts or full details of something from becoming known How does this fit what some of us have said regarding tattoos? In the Bible if God says it, it is generally for the good of the people or God would not have said it. That statement re the cutting or marking is what was done by the ungodly and God did not want His chosen to do. Was He being an obscurantist?
  4. Perhaps I am looking at this differently than the majority of you. When looking at the Bible, we find that there is no contradiction in the Word whether OT or NT. God's word is established and as He said, “I am the Lord, I do not change.” Yet, there are so many times even we as Christians do what God says not to do. We rationalize until we talk ourselves into okaying what is not for us. Why are we so…? Other times when it suits us we say, “God said it, that settles it for me.”
  5. Is this like the election? Can we vote as many times as we like?
  6. To me, there is no beauty like the clean skin that is God given. I will wait for Him to write my new name on my forehead until then....
  7. Leviticus 19:28 New International Version 28 “‘Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the Lord.
  8. One thing that is indisputable is that the Bible does not contradict itself. Men may not understand the Bible, or may attempt to challenge the Bible but there is always confirmation of the Word in another Book, chapter or verse. Words have different meanings when used in a different context but that is when it must be searched as to the meaning but always in context. What will the rapture be like for the living? For those who accepted Jesus as Saviour, they will be with Him. Those left behind will be looking for their loved ones and not find them, grief stricken or will be angry with God. But for those left the first year or two life will go on but life will get hard during the Tribulation. To stand up for Jesus will mean death, torment or torture under the AntiChrist. Revelation tells of life during the Tribulation. As for those who as you say 'kepoofing' into nothingness... no, it will be a change in the body from mortal to immortal, a metamorphosis so to speak..in the twinkling of an eye. the dead in Christ will rise, changed, from their graves to meet Jesus in the air followed by those who accepted Jesus and are alive and will meet Jesus with those who were raised from the dead and as fast a lightning flashes be gone to be with Him for eternity. That is one meeting in the air that will be like nothing I can imagine...but long for. Do not look at movies to give you the interpretation of what that time will be... ask God to reveal it to you. After Jesus rose from the dead and was at the Mount of Transfiguration, the disciples got a good look at what that new life would be like. We will be like Jesus was, in His new changed body.
  9. No faith based tattoo based designs,, I think they are 'pretty' by choice.. but may I suggest looking up tattoo inks and their composition.
  10. That is not what I said. There are exceptions as I mentioned. One.. the 2 witnesses who will die and lie in the street for 3 days during the Tribulation.. they are the OT saints who have not yet died. The rapture is for the dead in Christ and those living when Jesus comes to gather us to Himself in the 'rapture'.
  11. Thanks for the heads up.. No tattoos do not work.. In Leviticus we are told not to mark our bodies not cut them. The "ink" used is toxic, and some is printer's ink, some car paint, and many that are contaminated leaving the toxins go to the liver, kidneys etc. I have one family member that has tattoos and has had infections... personally I find them most unappealing and think the clean skin is far more attractive.
  12. Before my first heart surgery, I went through the Psalms and wrote down all of God's promises. Since then, if someone is worried about anything in this life that is a recommendation I give them. God is so faithful to us. The strange thing is that I cannot find the pages of His promises that I wrote out.. That has been asked of me since and I tell the one asking to read and write for themselves it is the only way to learn about how wonderfully faithful God is and how sadly lacking in faith we as a people can be. I would be hard pressed to find a Psalm that was a favourite.
  13. Yes, the OT saints are in heaven, resurrected when Jesus was. That is why in one chapter of Revelation, one of the ones speaking to John says not to bow down to him for he is one of his fellow servants, a prophet. They are a host waiting for us...
  14. Absolutely, as a reminder of His sacrificial death for us and looking forward to the Lamb's supper with His Bride, the Church.
  15. Paul does not say that all men 'must' die and then the judgement. He says it is 'appointed' for man to die, then the judgement. It is not a requirement. There are 2 individuals who have been taken to heaven without dying. Both Enoch and Elijah are in heaven and are most likely ( though disputed by some) to be the 2 witnesses in the Tribulation. All other Old Testament prophets, priests, kings, and men and women have died. They are waiting the judgment. We, after the death of Jesus, have or may die before the 'rapture' but Jesus is coming and He says that during that time, one will be in the field and one taken, one will be in the bed and one taken, meaning that those who are alive 'when He comes' to meet us in the air and who have accepted Jesus as Saviour, will not die but will be gathered to Him with those who have died but are resurrected at His coming.
  16. Thank you. I did and somehow like mushrooms it multiplied.LOL Eve was a helper and a mate created by God for Adam. and yes the original word is helpmeet.
  17. But the 'OT saints' (the Israelites) were looking for a homeland other than Egypt where they were used as slaves and most of them had to die because of their unbelief and did not enter the promised land. The believing Israelites lived to enter the promised land following Joshua. Not understanding why you are using them as a model.
  18. Adam was created first in God's likeness and Eve was created to be Adam's companion a helpmate.
  19. Adam was created first in God's likeness and Eve was created to be Adam's companion a helpmate.
  20. Adam was created first in God's likeness and Eve was created to be Adam's companion a helpmate.
  21. Calvin???? I do not think so... not in any book I have read or studied.
  22. What men and women would go to the heavenlies to rule?? When? in Adam's time or are you speaking future? God has always planned greater things than man imagined H did not depend on man's desire.. we cannot imagine what our future will be... even reading all the t is spoken in the Bible. God wants man's praise, honour, glory, adoration, .those are things man takes to himself but God will not share it with anyone.
  23. Psalm 100:2-3 2 Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. 3 Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his[a]; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. By making man's chief purpose to tend the animals (nature) we make man's importance subject to the creation. With whom did God commune in the garden? With whom did He walk and talk? God wanted a relationship with man and wanted his love and worship because of what He had created for man. Who did He create in His image? For whom did Jesus come and die primarily? Yes, He came to redeem all of creation too but primarily it was man. In addition..Psalm 8 2 Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.
  24. No. That was man's "responsibility" to the animal kingdom. God could have done that without man. in He Beginning animals got along with each other in the garden. once Adam sinned all nature came under the condemnation of sin and man was needed to tend the animal for his benefit and theirs. But, Why as the poster says did God create man?
  25. Today started off with frustration with the printer and now I must ask, "Why have we veered off the main topic? The original question? " and yes I know it is easy to do so but God did not create man to be priests kings that was much later. Kings because man did not accept God's Kingship over them and demanded one. But if we talk about why man was created, how did we come to 6 pages dealing with things other than, "Why?". Sorry but inanimate objects are frustrating when not working but it leads me to ask,"Why?" in the s instance.
