  1. Thank you for posting this article!
  2. Has anyone ever seen the documentary Dragons or Dinosaurs? I think it's up on Netflix. It covers about everything discussed so far, and some interesting points that cast doubt on radio isotope dating. I used to believe God created the world but it was billions of years old...etc. etc. I was a biology major in college, and I was most proficient in the area of evolutionary biology. I was even picked to be a teacher assistant and teach other students the tenets of evolution. I didn't want to question the science professors, because, after all, they had fancy degrees on their walls and letters after their names. Then, I decided to do the unspeakable and doubt the powers that be, and what they were telling me to think. I took all the rigorous tests that I had applied to my battered faith and applied it to the belief system of evolution. It turns out, evolution is just as vulnerable as any other belief system. Life is a matter of choosing where we place our faith. I've chosen to place my faith in the revelation of God's Word.
  3. I read a book recently called The Truth About Muhammed and it basically goes along with everything that's been said in this thread. I never realized that the koran literally instructs the oppression of Jews, Christians and murder of non-muslims. Terrorists are simply being devout muslims, following the example Muhammed left behind. Interestingly, when Muhammed first started his "career" as a prophet, he thought a demon was talking to him, and he even tried to commit suicide, before he started saying that it was the angel Gabriel speaking. Seems like he was right the first time. On a side note, I've heard a theory that the anti-Christ and his false religion is going to have an Islamic foundation rather than the "revived Roman empire" foundation. I don't want to get off topic from the thread, but I just wanted to toss that out on the table.
  4. Hi, I'm brand new here, but this topic caught my attention. For the past eight years, I've worked in children/youth ministry in NYC and now in Pennsylvania. It's interesting (and sad) to see how many young people are exhibiting indifference and hostility towards Christianity. We have a bus ministry that brings in kids from un-churched homes, and while some are very interested in learning about Jesus, many of them scorn or dismiss every truth we try to teach them. You can tell what they're learning at home. It's very frustrating. It also makes me wonder about the future or our country and the church.
