  1. Hello, Butero. Jesus did not say that the entire Old Testament law is still in force . I do not see it in the Gospel. What he said is that He did not come to abolish the Law and the Prophets. But what law is this ? ... As I understand the law and the prophets what Jesus Christ referred to, is not the laws of the Old Testament that command : "eye for eye , tooth for tooth " ; burning to daughters who's were not virgins at marriage; be stoned to death disobedient children , women accused of adultery , men collecting firewood Sabbath; precepts that sent to war and kill men , women and children of the conquered peoples ... etc. With respect, I believe that these laws were abolished by Jesus Christ himself , and now no longer apply , as we see in Matthew 5:21-48 , John 8:1-13 and other parts of the Gospel. So which is the Law that Jesus Christ came not to abolish ? I think the law that Jesus did not come to abolish is the Law which He Himself taught in the Gospel , because Jesus Christ tells us that the Law and the prophets is this: "All things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you , do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets." ( Matthew 7:12 ) Therefore, I believe that this is the law that God gave Moses, because Jesus himself says that " this is the law and the prophets." So, I think this is the law that remains in effect, that Jesus Christ came not to abolish ( "Think not that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets " ) . And this law is the law which not passed " not one jot or tittle ", of the Law that Jesus Christ teaches us in the Gospel. So I think that this is the Law that God had given to Moses in the beginning. I see that the Law of the Gospel is very different from the Old Testament commandments mandating that men hurt and kill other men. I see that these commandments are contrary to the law of the Gospel, are not the law and the prophets whom Jesus was referring . So what you find is that in the scriptures there are two different laws : - One is the law of the Old Testament ... - And the other is the Law as taught by Jesus Christ. The first law was a law very hard, and the second is merciful . Some say, that the two laws were two different laws for two different times, but the problem that comes to me and what I like to clarify is that the prophets tell us that the law is and forever : " Faithful are all His commandments , They stand fast for ever and ever , done in truth and uprightness. Sent redemption to his people, for ever he has commanded his covenant " (Psalm 111.7-9 ) " From your decrees I have known for some time that has established forever " (Psalm 119 ( 118 ) , 152) . If God said his commandments are forever , how is that in the scriptures there are two different laws ? This is my preocuación . I await your answers.
  2. Love. If you have not love...... Hello fez. You say love, but what kind of love? ... Love for Old Testament laws? Love for the commandments of Paul's letters? Or love for the commandments of the gospel? What is what Jesus commanded us to preach? I think the love that you refer to is the Gospel, Because the Old Testament laws are different. Moreover, Paul's letters speak of the law, but are sometimes not easy to understand.
  3. Which is the Law of God? The Old Testament? The New Testament? Or the Gospel?... The Law of God taught by Jesus Christ "Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets" (Matthew 7:12) What God wants is the mercy "If you had known what this means, I want mercy and not sacrifice, you wouldn’t have condemned the innocent" (Matthew 12:7) Jesus speaks to the pharisees about the Law When the Pharisees heard that Jesus had left the Sadducees speechless, they met together. One of them, a legal expert, tested him. Teacher, what is the greatest commandment in the Law? He replied, “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your being, and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: You must love your neighbor as you love yourself. All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commands” (Matthew 22:34-40) Jesus teaches to a rich man, the precepts of the Law "And behold, one came to him and said, Teacher, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why askest thou me concerning that which is good? One there is who is good: but if thou wouldest enter into life, keep the commandments. He saith unto him, Which? And Jesus said, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Honor thy father and mother; and, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. The young man saith unto him, All these things have I observed: what lack I yet? Jesus said unto him, If thou wouldest be perfect, go, sell that which thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me. But when the young man heard the saying, he went away sorrowful; for he was one that had great possessions" (Matthew 19:16-22) These are the commandments of the Gospel, which are very different to the commandments of the Old Testament, for all the commandments of the Gospel are merciful, but many Old Testament commandments commands death sentences, wars and slavery. So what is the law that the Christians must follow?
  4. Hello conservator. This is a good topic to ponder. Things about the Law of God and sin, it is sometimes complicated. I hope that together we reach good conclusions. I believe that mercy must always be present in the lives of Christians, because what God wants is mercy. God is merciful.
  5. Hello, nebula. I agree too. Learning the history of the Church of the first Christians does to learn many things: how they lived, what they preached and how they suffered persecution. And so it is with the things of the world, it is good to be aware of current news and history.
  6. I agree with you, friend WillowWood. Anything to have a broader knowledge of everything that happens in the world, it is always a wonderful experience and a wealth of knowledge. God is merciful.
  7. I too have been in love, and then I lost my love on the path followed. Today I feel very bad remembering the love I lost. But I lost it? Nothing is lost if Jesus Christ is with us. All that was, back again, when we finish this way. God is merciful.
  8. You should not be sad because if she is a good woman, you will see her. God is merciful.
