We as Christians are entitled to "enough" Our goal, our vision should be on God. Who has promised to supply our needs...and ad to us that which we require. If you are looking for more than "our daily bread" may I humbly suggest you are looking in the wrong direction Matthew 6: 19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. 22 “The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is [g]good, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eye is [h]bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness! 24 “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. Do Not Worry 25 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? 28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not [l]arrayed like one of these. 30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Its okay to ask why, if you are willing to take any answer He gives. Asking why to understand and asking why to challenge God...two very different things
-
Well never stop asking for prayer and help...toxic situation made so by people who seem to need to live in them are no good.
-
Step 1. (which you may have already accomplished.) see what part of this is on you and own it Step 2. Take it God and give it to him, ask forgiveness, repent from the negativity and ask for help overcoming it Step 3. Stop looking back. Instead look forward, as they say, this is the first day of the rest of your life. Step 4. Pray going forward for help and strength to over come. Live Life, Live, Laugh Love wash rinse and repeat as necessary

he ascended into heaven bodily He is 100% man and 100% God (for the flesh defines the humanity and the spirit defines the divinity) It is this duality that makes him the perfect mediator
-
Well there is one....but He is also God

So Jesus spoke and they listened Great. But did he ever circle back to them?

Amen I totally agree. Shine the light

I deny no scripture. But you went beyond the scripture Assuming that Jesus followed up. when no such scripture is given
-
Chrisitanity is God and you. People can point the way, good or bad, but it is the persons choice to reject or accept God, regardless of us
-
Who is doing the implying. You have just entered the fantasy land of extra-biblical surmisal Nothing indicts the Lord, He did what He did because it was right.
-
And someone being a jerk and screaming at you is going to make you tell God to take a hike?
-
But he left her in the same condition

I don't think #2 is correct. Unbelievers rejecting Christ is between them and Christ. Oh sure we can make a handy excuse but in the end its not us
-
What exactly did Jesus do for her? He was interrupted by His disciples and she went away without another word
-
hard to base a broad Christian Strategy based on one episode. Jesus used that situation to open up to Samaritans to his presence

Sorry jumped into the middle of a conversation and went off topic....knee jerk

Matthew 7:16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

Does such a thing even exist? Maybe some one who claims to be a Christian can walk around with "bad morals" but can a real Christian. I understand we are not perfect, but if we are seeking after sin.....how can we be seeking God?

Anything that is not Holy The temple has always been a place where God dwells, first it was a tent in the wilderness, then a building in Jerusalem and now it is our hearts

I imagine that would be determined by the age and situation. However since many people attending church have trouble in their lives, and many of the children come from homes without a father, having a good, godly example of man before their eyes can be a VERY good thing. When I first started bible college and needed to pick a ministry to get plugged into I Started in "Children's church" and it was an incredible blessing, (took a few cream pies in the face for the kids too ) I could see how it important it was for them to see a Christian Man who was there for them. But only looking back on my experience do I realize how absolutely careful I had to be with such "precious cargo". But that time of my life was a true blessing.

HYPOCRITES = Job 15;34-35, Matthew 6;5, Luke 11;44
Riverwalker replied to MizKJVOnly's topic in Theology
And yet which of us have ever walked completely from Hypocrisy? Not even Paul Romans 7: 19 For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice. 20 Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. 21 I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. 22 For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man. 23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24 O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? 25 I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord! Remember the old saying when you point your finger at someone there are three fingers pointing back at you -
I would relate this to the Parable of the ten virgins Matthew 25 1 “Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3 Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, 4 but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept. 6 “And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom [a]is coming; go out to meet him!’ 7 Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ 9 But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut. 11 “Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ 12 But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’ 13 “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.
