  4. How often do we think about being one with the Lords Spirit? What does that mean exactly? Is that like a marriage contract? James calls his readers adulterers because they were friends with the world. Spiritual adultery is a real thing, Israel was guilty of it. Its like the marriage relationship we have with our spouse is just the symbolism and the real relationship it points to is our relationship with the Lord. I dont know, just my thoughts.
  5. No apology needed, you had a valid point about the difference in the two chapters. As for your question, i dont know. I do like this scripture here. It says we are one with the Lord. 1 Corinthians 6:17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. 18 Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
  6. I suppose i was referring to chapter 6 and 3. I see your point about chapter 3, but my focus is on anything to do with the temple of the holy spirit.

  11. Maybe they look good on the outside but surely they are a sinner. If they don't believe they are a sinner wont they be self righteous? And their love might seem good to some but isnt that just mans love and not God's love? What kind of unbeliever goes around turning the other cheek, submitting themselves to others, serving their enemy in love? I think walking in Gods love is hard even for Christians. They have to get close to God and the truth of scripture. They have to grow and evolve and suffer. They have to give up part of themselves for the sake of their walk with God. Look at politics. No love there. Zero serving the other side, politics serves only itself and its own side. It loves only those who love it. I dont know, maybe im wrong, but i see God's love as a higher calling, a path not always easily traveled. Either way, i will meditate on this more.

  13. I do understand your situation with substance abuse. You sound overwhelmed. Don't worry about being perfect. Instead fix one thing at a time with Gods help. Take it one day at a time too. Dont worry about the past or the future. Jesus teaches us to take it one day at a time. I understand the materialism thing too. When i start thinking of material things in an obsessive or discontent way, im reminded of Pauls words that say to be content and think about good things, so when i start getting materialistic i tell myself to be content and think good thoughts. It seems very helpful. Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. 10 I rejoiced greatly in the Lord that at last you renewed your concern for me. Indeed, you were concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it. 11 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
  14. What faith did James say heals the sick? The faith of the Church elders. He didnt preach to the sick and tell them they needed more faith, no he said the Elders faith would heal them.
