  1. Why would anyone take the High Times seriously?
  2. Can you point out even one mass shooting that was followed by riots? I cannot think of any. Yet you keep bringing up this notion that people were expecting riots. Your biased view of liberals is not very much different than Roofs view of non-whites. My in-laws are card carrying Democrats and proud to carry the title liberal. They are 1000 times less biased than you. There are approximately 55 million adults that consider themselves liberal, and you paint them all with the same brush. You seems to be the very thing you rant against.
  3. Assuming these people were really doing what is claimed.
  4. Wasn't John Roberts supposed to be the conservative bulwark of the Supreme Court for decades to come? That is the perfect word JustinM for what our government has become. Under the current system it will only get worse.
  5. The TPA makes perfect sense from a business perspective. If a deal is negotiated with 6 countries and then for political purposes the deal gets some stupid pork added to it, they then have to go back and get everyone's approval all over again. Either approve it or reject it, don't nit pick it.
  6. I too have noticed that every discussion you are a part of is led off into the anti-government discussion. Our threat level concerns ISIS. That is the topic, the threat level and radicalization. This is not being done by elected officials; it's the work of ISIS. Any opinions on the actual topic? My opinion of ISIS is that they are this decades version of the Red Scare. The higher the fear level the more freedom people are willing to give up.
  7. It has everything to do with the so called science. That is what you have been told, but it is not reality, but how else do of you get normally bright people to ignore the facts and data and majority of scientists in the field? The only way is to turn the issue into a political wedge issue. It is what I have seen in the sciences and in society. It is not what Ive been told. I have a berean attitude and double and triple check everything. I dont trust anyone just telling me something without verifying it from sources. Have you taken the data sets an ran an analysis on them yourself? They are available to anyone who wants to download them. There is a great free analysis package called R that will let you manipulate the data in countless ways.

  9. The actions of greedy politicians has no bearing on the science and the data. If you had lung cancer and a doctor who smoked told you that you need to stop smoking would you ignore him for being a hypocrite?
  10. IF God exist and the bible is Holy Word, then we are saved despite our failings, despite our human sin nature. I am going through a time of doubt over much of what I thought I knew about God and the bible. The human logic in me is looking at things and going " how does that make sense". But I also know that the man who baptized Jesus, who heard the voice of God, had a time of doubts. So I think doubt is a normal part of being human.
  11. The things you listed are forever in flux, they are constantly changing. The world you were born into that you see as the norm in those areas is very different than what your grandparents viewed as the norm. That is a separate issue from people gleefully handing over freedoms and rights in the name of safely and security. I agree 100% with you on the police and the military. Couldn't disagrees more about elected officials needing to worry, we reelection them at greater than a 95% rate. They have the country too divided to need to worry, which is by design.
  12. What do YOU consider to be the right thing, uncertain? The best thing to do would be to separate the science from the politics, but sadly that will never happen. This is a well written article from a gentleman I have meet a couple of times. Read it with an open mind.http://www.vox.com/2014/11/11/7187057/global-warming-free-market-solution-republican-skepticp All well and good to separate fact from politics but.....how does that help the environment? What are you doing that actually addresses the problem? Not the debate....the problem. You told another poster that spreading false data was easier than being responsible (not an exact quote). What do you suggest that entails? What am I doing personally? Well the wife and I downsized our home cutting our square feet in half, we have the most energy efficient appliances we could find and use geothermal energy for heating and AC. We downsized when it was time for new cars and have much more fuel efficient cars. We have divested our investments from any company not environmentally friendly and have focused a portion of our investments into companies focused on new sources of energy. This issue is high on my list when it comes to voting. There is not much more I can do personally.
  13. So, people who illegally entered the country have now illegally missed their court dates. Then the government acts surprised.
  14. The biggest danger to us is not some teens in a chat room, it is the systematic removal of rights, freedoms and privacy in the name of safety. This is just the Red Scare repackaged with a new face on the enemy. How much are you will to hand to your government in the name of safety? you are so naive... did you watch the videos I posted on the last thread you were preaching this on? Do you realize that most of the NDAA was put in place in the days of WWII and it hasn't been the downfall of the USA... portions of it has been around since the civil war..... If our military is going to take over the country, we don't need the NDAA for that to happen Regan took care of that when he set up FEMA.....I I know where you are coming from for I have been there...... but I've been to other places since I was there and found that there is much more to be concerned about than the NDAA. God finally saw I wasn't going to be satisfied with him and he took me to all the places trying to destroy not only our country but personally myself and I finally got the message that on planet earth, I have no future. If the progressives don't get me ISIS will..... when you look into the New Age Movement and see the New Age Religion that has moved into the UN and promoting much of what's going on in the world and realize that it's the same evil that had hold of Nazi Germany in the 30's and realize that while we defeated the German army, we imported Nazism into our midst and it took root and has grown into the New Agers..... and look in depth at Islam and it's drive to put the whole world under sharia law and then there is the violence possible between black and white peoples..... it just finally overwhelms you and you finally understand that the only hope one has on this planet for anything long term comes from the Holy Spirit. And the Holy Spirit will sustain me in most any of the situations that the present troubles our country faces..... and I worry least about our own military. If we stand any chance at all, our next president will need the NDAA and the Patriot Act to rid this country of the Muslim Brotherhood.... and until you understand what Islam is about and what it is poised to do in the world, you will never understand my stand here. When you wake up one morning and you are safe from the latest red threat, will it be worth the price of your freedoms and rights? You know they will never come back, the government takes away, but they never give back. I hope your safety is worth our country as we know it. It will only get worse till it is too late, then we will no longer recognize this once great country. That is too high a price in my opinion, sadly most agree with you and will continue to give away freedoms and rights in the name of security. It truly breaks my heart.
  15. Something you got wrong friend: I was there. I saw it. We were taught it in school. Our parents chuckled and went on with life. Don't ever tell me I didn't live through something I lived through. The only real difference was that they didn't preach the Ice Age scenario with quite the same propaganda like frequency like they do global warming today. You could still watch a nature doco and wouldn't come up . . . The "responable thing" seems to be to turn our country into a 3rd world pesthole, and I'm not okay with that. I'm also done with this so called debate. Have a nice day . . . What they taught at your school is irrelevant, what the scientific community was saying is a matter of record, and it does not jive with what your school was teaching. The adults of that generation didn't laugh, they acted responsibly and changed their ways in the use of aerosols. We seem to be talking about 2 different things here. The aerosol thing was one time where the science and government actually did the right thing. Again: I know. I was there - in the southern hemisphere living next door to that ozone hole over the south pole, assuming that's what you're referring to. Totally different thing than the warm/cooling debate which I won't waste time on. They really didn't "change their ways" in the use of aerosols, by the way. Just the propellants. There's still lots of aerosols used today. No, we are talking about the same thing, it was aerosols in the atmosphere that were predicated to cause global cooling. You might have be been there but your memory of the situation is clouded by personal biases. Instead of relying on 40 year old memories, look at the scientific papers of the time. For the record, I was there also.

  17. Oh and what is the right thing..... All the planets in our solar system are heating up.... so how do you turn down the sun...... chemtrails??? How do you shut down the extra volcanoes that are presently active? How can you blame mankind for that extra heat coming from the earth itself? How can we reset the magnetosphere that seems to be drifting around... Maybe if mankind got back to God instead of what we're doing..... Not all the planets are warming, just some of them. If the sun were solely responsible then they all would and would be in degrees relative to their position, this is not happening either. Scientists these days have multiple ways of measuring the sun, and over the last 40 years the sun and the warming of the globe have been going in opposite directions. Volcanic activity actually cools the earth, not warms it. Volcanoes emit sulfate aerosols which actually reflect sunlight, causing a cooling effect, not a warming. The easiest right thing to do would be for people to quit spreading false information based on their political ideology.

  19. Sounds like they are laying the groundwork for more invasions into our privacy.
  20. You make another false assumption about me. I am being responsible. But I am not buying in to the climate change hype. I know how to think critically. I know how to read science journals, and I do. I also know how flawed the climate change "science" is. And how agenda driven. Giving up aerosols isnt that big a deal unless you have asthma and watched the prices on your inhaler skyrocket as a result. Doing the kinds of changes global warming politicians want is ludicrous. It hurts people. At what point is "being responsible" about the environment worth the cost of the harm it causes people? You and I differ on this. What was the first false assumption I made about you?

  22. Guess it would be easier than being responsible an doing the right thing.
  23. There was never supposed to be an ice age, in the 70s time and Newsweek had competing articles based on the musings of a few meteorologist, it was never a position of mainstream science. The only real prediction of cooling from a scientist dealt with aerosols, which were then greatly reduced. So he may well had been right had people not responded correctly. I was taught that there was going to be an ice age in school. It was back in the 60s and early 70s. You must have went to a very lousy school, to teach what science didn't even put forth. I went to a very good private school, one that is still highly ranked today. https://stevengoddard.wordpress.com/1970s-ice-age-scare/ That links shows newspaper articles from back then that showed other scientists believed in that stuff. Not just hubert lamb. It was taught in schools as well. Yes, I'm old enough to remember that in school also. It was the "Climate Change" of the '70s . . . and just as wrong. That didn't work out, so they now don't miss a trick screaming about climate change in every article they can especially now that that California is having its drought. Think the end of the world is scary? Wait'll you see what Jesus does to it on the way to the New Heavens and New Earth! Two things you got wrong. First, it was not the climate change of the 70s, a review of the scientific journals of the time show more articles, by a 6 to 1 margin, about warming, not cooling. Second, the scientists that warned about cooling all focused on aerosols, and the need to cut back on their use. In the 70s, not everything was broken down via party lines and people actually listened to the scientists instead of brushing off based on politics, and cut back on the use of aerosols. So, they were not wrong.
  24. Is their a religious significance to the license, it seems to me it is purely a civil thing that the church has no stake in whatsoever, why would they be the ones issuing it? That again seems to open them to more legal issues, not less. open who to more legal issues? Whomever has the duty to issue the license.
