  1. Think of it like being in a room of alcoholics that are drinking, and being sober and not drinking.

  3. This is an articles from www.str.org In Vitro Fertilization: Is It Wrong to Discard Embryos? Steve Wagner, Stand to Reason Summary In vitro fertilization (IVF) is a common treatment option for many couples seeking relief from infertility. Conception takes place in a laboratory and the resulting embryo is implanted in the woman
  4. Try www.str.org It is an organization called Stand To Reason. They are great. Just type in the subject in there search engine. Good luck.
  5. Hay T&O how are you doing? I hope your day went well? My day has been very busy. I just took a look at the link you posted. I will read over the article, and try to give some feed back later. I looked at this site before from your link in another thread. It is an interesting site. I think that the guy is biased, but then again aren't we all? Well I have got to go now, I will try to study the article tonight or maybe tomorrow, thank you for taking the time to recommend it to me.
  6. Bro Joe, I'm all game for the discussion. To be honest, I've had quite enough of the bickering, too, and am now going to avoid those threads that seem to head that way. I have a link here with a great examination of the Oneness system of theology. I can understand that if you have been taught the Oneness faith that it can be hard to "see anything but that." But, with John 1:1 it is really difficult to see the 2 separate individuals and then say they are one, even though the passage clearly shows that they are 2. Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Now, how can 1 Person be "with God (obviously a statement of someone other than Himself (the Word)" and at the same time "be God?" There must be 2 Persons that are God, according to this simple statement of John 1:1. Regarding a biblical definition of what "Personhood" entails... Check out this link for a Discussion of Personhood <{POST_SNAPBACK}> A-men! I feel the same way. I understand that everybody feels that they are right, but sometimes we all just get a little over zealous in our approach and either proclaim or defend the truth. Sometimes I think that we just want to prove someone wrong? I know that is the case sometimes with me. I am trying to grow as a christian and a person and not let my flesh get in the way. God is good, and He is helping me to grow as a christian. I thank you for be a gentleman. I have looked at the other link you post in the other Oneness thread. I am studying some of the points they make there. I will look at the link you posted above. I am getting ready for work now, I still need to take time for my morning time with the Lord. If it is not to much, I may print some of the information from the link, a read it over at work today during lunch. I also wanted to let you know that I was raised Trinitarian, and didn't become Oneness until the early 90's. I also try to stay open to different views, and have a couple of book written by x-oneness people. I have not read a book on the Trinity yet, but would like to. I have heard that "The Forgotten Trinity" by James White is good, have you read it? Also have you read any books by Oneness people? I know that we can get very busy at times. I am currently signed up for college (3/4) time. My wife and I just had our first child. A girl, Halley Raine Stancliff. She was born May 27th. God is so good to me. I am studying Romans as part of a group with my church, Jude as a future teaching assignment from my pastor, the Oneness/Trinity on my own, and the whole salvation issue in the Bible on my own. I also read/post on 5 different forums. I said this to let you know a little more about where I am coming from (I really need to right out my testimony) also to let you know that am sure that you are also busy. I appreciate you taking the time to respond to my questions/comments. PS: Thank you for being a polite gentleman and respectful in your post to me. That means a lot to me personally. I will pray for you this morning that God bless you today and continues to let you grow in your relationship with Him and in your love for His Word and His truth. Talk to you later.
  7. Would some one here who believes in the doctrine of the Trinity please give me the definition of the term Trinity. I have my own ideas, and I have heard different explanations, but I would not like to assume any thing. Thank you in advance for taking the time.
  8. It sounds like you are doing good so far. May I recommend just spending time in His presence and in His word. I like to listen to it on CD when I am doing other things. It is so neat when you have listened to something a dozen times, and all of the sudden God opens your eyes to something new or deeper about Him. It seem like there are many others here who want to be used of the Lord and help other in there journey. I pray that the Lord Jesus continues to lead you in to more of His truth and a deeper walk and relationship with Him.
  9. I study from the KJV, but I also like the AMP and the NAS. If I am preaching or teaching, I stay mostly with the KJV.
  10. I have not taken the time to read the left behind books, but I have listen to all 12 of the audio theater dramas. They are great.
  11. My church baptizes in Jesus name, but I was wondering, in the book of Acts did the apostles get it wrong, or did they understand something that so many christians today don't?
  12. My friend and I are starting to read and study "A History of Christian Doctrine Vol. 1:The Post Apostolic to the Middle Ages A.D. 100-1500" by David K. Bernard. It is a heavy book, but packed full of great information and truth about the history and evolution of doctrine in the christian faith. I also like almost any book written on the history of the pentecostal movement in America. Any one have any good recommendations?
  13. United Pentecostal.
  14. Thank you all very much. The information has been helpful so far. I don't know if I will start learning it right away, but it is good to have the resources ready ahead of time.
  15. Does anybody here know of any good websights or resources for learning biblical greek? And is there a difference between biblical and modern greek? Thanks in advance for any help.
  16. I have found the following site to be helpful. http://www.memoryverses.org/ It is nice to see different peoples different ideas on the subject. Keep them coming.
  17. I was really hoping for more replies and input. I know that with all of the Christians here from so many different back grounds, that there has to be plenty of wisdom and advice. Come on don't be shy.
  18. When I first started to memorize scripture for Bible quizzing back in 1992, I would memorize large chunks at a time. The problem was if it was Acts 2:1-10, and you asked me to quote verse 9, I would have to go through verses 1-8 in my head to remember verse 9. That is when I started to memorize the reference with the verse. It does take more time, but it helps out in the long run. My pastor told me once that if you had to choose, it is better to know where to find 100 verses in the Bible when you need them, then to memorize 25 straight out. I like to have the best of both worlds if I can.
  19. I used to be really big into memorizing scripture. I have slacked off in the last few years. I want to get back into it, and wanted to know if anybody here had any good advice on how best to do it. Any words of wisdom or things that worked good for you? Any good articles or websites?
  20. I have found these sites helpful. http://www.audiotreasure.com/ http://www.sermonaudio.com/search.asp?currsection=new http://www.goodpreaching.com/media/
  21. So far no trinitarians have responded to my question about Oneness/Trinity debates. I would like to ask another question then. Who do you recommend to listen to as far as teaching on the Trinity? So far I have listened to the following, just to name a few: Steve Brown, June Hunt, David Jeremiah, Michael Youssef, R.C. Sproul, Gene Cook, Robert M. Bowman, Jr. and Hank Hanagraaf. And on the flip side of this has an Trinitarians here listened to any Oneness teachers/preacher on the subject of the Oneness/Trinity? If so who? Thank you inadvance for the information.
  22. Thanks Essaias, it is a great blessing from God to have friends. I pray that I can also be such a blessing to you.
