  1. That wasn't a thread. It was a relevant connection to the OP. Thank you for telling us about the thread. Can you edit so that people reading this one can find it?
  2. But that article that you posted is from August of 2016. Whereas the article that starts this thread is dated yesterday, February 2nd. The grant program started accepting applications on Tuesday, per the article, January 31st.
  3. And that Berkley protest that canceled Milo Yiannopolos' appearance had a very strange apology behind it and from of all people the UC Berkeley chancellor. The bolding and underline is my highlight. "We condemn in the strongest possible terms the violence and unlawful behavior that was on display, and deeply regret that those tactics will now overshadow the efforts to engage in legitimate and lawful protest against the performer’s presence and perspectives...." Performers? They were suppose to be protesters. UC Berkeley: We condemn the violence that overshadowed lawful protest
  4. I remember reading last year I think it was. A man in California falsified his college application as pertained to race. He said he was black in order to get a minority scholarship. He was caught doing so but his excuse was he wanted to go to medical school. And that was the only way he could afford it. I think this "privilege grant" is fitting in these times. How many of us have read the claim that whites enjoy white privilege in America? It usually occurs when other races are in the news having suffered police violence. California's Dream Act doesn't pertain American citizens. https://dream.csac.ca.gov/application/NewUserAccess.aspx And it has already been mentioned. There are scholarships and tuition breaks for college applicants solely because of their race as first qualifier to apply for such considerations. But not for Caucasians. I think this grant by Milo surely isn't enough to pay for a college tuition. However, that's not his point as I read it. His point is to even the playing field for privilege. That includes white people in this instance.
  5. I believe Jesus knows we are speaking to him when our spirit and heart connect in prayer and supplication invoking his name and spirit. You've read the Bible. Jesus tells us God knows his own. He leads us to salvation in Christ because God, who was Christ, knew each one of us uniquely and before he even created this earth. How would he then not know us when we pray in Jesus name? You can't see him but he see's you. And really when you say you see God in all that is, nature, etc... you're seeing Jesus also. Because Jesus said he and his father are one. Welcome to the site. May we be a blessing to you and you a blessing to our community.
  6. “We will conquer Rome, by Allah’s permission.” Militant ISIS leader in a speech recorded and distributed by ISIS just before beheading 21 Coptic Christians in Libya. http://www.catholicireland.net/we-conquer-rome-allahs-permission/
  7. The apostate flock flocks at the call of the wolves that would be shepherded together. It is as it should be. They went out from the Ecclesia because they were not united in the holy spirit to the Ecclesia.
  8. Ed: Yiannopoulos was due to speak at UC Berkeley's Pauley Ballroom on Wednesday (2/1) at 7:30 p.m., but the protest was canceled due to some violent protestors The irony is just too much. UCBerkeley is a liberal college in left wing California. But they're against tolerating white males obtaining a grant. And certain members of the campus (area) are against free speech.
  9. Milo Yiannopoulos opens college grant program 'exclusively for white men' By Alyssa Pereira, San Francisco Chronicle Updated 11:18 am, Thursday, February 2, 2017 Seems fair.
  10. In fairness to this subject, the pope speaks from his seat within the Latin rite church located in Rome. He does not speak for nor to any Christian but those affiliated with that particular entity. What's to worry ? It isn't a surprise that he's speaking to the parishes he oversees. That's his job.
  11. In these times that does not surprise me. Do you currently reside in India as a Christian?
  12. It is a blessing this outreach. However, I'd be concerned as to whomever committed arson against the Victoria Islamic community center, would those same evils go after those who gave them sanctuary? God be with all.
  13. I can agree with this decision. Especially if half a billion in tax payer monies would go to better American lives. Public radio and PBS should be funded by the public. As the names imply. But they're corporate funded and public funded and that's where I think this decision was appropriate and timely. No other administration would have thought to do this.
  14. Maybe the government's thought process revolves around deprivation and a return to pagan ways in order to survive? If these children have no Christian home to go to , they'll renounce Christ and seek the Hindu faith in order to gain fostering or a group home environment? But if the India religious way was righteous first these children wouldn't be alone and impoverished in India. Whatever the true inspiration behind this decision, besides the obvious, God's arch rival and his machinations, I pray these children are saved before this deadline in March. Perhaps the celebrity that are in India and Christian can contribute funds to keep the home open? Being those monies would be coming from those in country. Thereby complying with this new edict.
  15. No you do not understand what I am saying because what you insist on promoting is not correct. It wouldn't even make sense as pertains to the scripture I posted. We are to be subject to one another as voters? In the United States of America, Government is the governing authority. The people who vote are the electorate. We the people elect officials to govern under our authority as a representative democracy in this constitutional republic. I hope that assists in correcting your misunderstanding of American politics and civics.
  16. If you read the scripture I posted it refers to governing authorities. Which are what are elected into office in the United States of America.
  17. Proverbs 14:34 Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people. To clear up a misconception, president Obama did not make gay marriage legal in the U.S. The United States Supreme Court did. Supreme Court Declares Same-Sex Marriage Legal In All 50 States http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2015/06/26/417717613/supreme-court-rules-all-states-must-allow-same-sex-marriages If voters did make a mistake electing president Trump it shall be a mistake we will all have to live with for four years. Remember that we also elected to the House and Senate a majority of representatives that are also Republican. As our president is. Did we make a mistake there too? I don't think it fair we doubt president Trump this early on if at all. He hasn't even served his first 100 days as yet. But when he got into office he hit the ground running. Keeping up with his list of promises to better America. Is that a mistake? He's just getting started. Romans 13:1-7 Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer. Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God's wrath but also for the sake of conscience.
  18. I appreciate that. I too was sharing my feelings. God's peace be with us both.
  19. I take offense to your implying I am conducting myself in that manner. It is reasonable and common sense to realize what Obama did impacts the present day. And presents a current president with those issues with which he'll have to deal now that he's taking Obama's place.
  20. Here's The (LONG) List Of Foreign-Born Islamists Charged With Or Convicted Of Terrorism
  21. I'm sure you realize that what Obama did for eight years as president has ramifications for the future.
