These are they type teachings that make for a very confused Christian.
In one part of the Bible we're told God knew everyone even before he began the process described in Genesis. We're also told that no one comes to Jesus for their salvation unless God calls them to repent. Then we're told whosoever believes in Jesus, repents, will not perish but have everlasting life. Then we're told God puts those whom he will into Jesus' hands. That none of that occurred without God's grace first and that's why salvation isn't our doing, not even asking Christ into our heart, because it is all God's doing first. And once in Jesus hands no one can take us from there.
Then we are told in a teaching like this here that unless we're obedient none of that is true. And that means everything that is of God's doing is undone if we don't follow the rules all the time.
