  1. 1. It is reasonable to assume that Jesus kept the Sabbath and therefore the ancient Hebrew calendar and it's Sabbaths, new moons and annual feasts must have been common knowledge at this time. 2. After the sacking of Jerusalem in 70 AD the Jews no longer had a temple to sacrifice in nor a priesthood to do it as they had all been killed. The Romans virtually killed everyone in Jerusalem and Massada where the rest of the rebels ran to. This left the Jewish population decimated and of the Jews living else where in Israel who had survived, by cow-towing to the Romans, very few return or decided to live in Jerusalem after 70 AD. The Sanhedrin however did mange to largely survive and formed a seat of rabbinic learning in the south of Galilee, where they maintained the practice of keeping the ancient Hebrew calendar and it's Sabbaths, new moons and annual feasts by travelling to Jerusalem each month to sight the new moon. 3. Over the successive generations from 70 AD onwards these traumatic events had forced the Jews to look for sanctuary within the rest of the Roman Empire and beyond in what was called the Diaspora. They were refugees scattered in small groups and families, struggling to survive in foreign countries where they were more often than not treated as the lowest of the low. 4. Then after the Simon Bar Kokbha revolt between 132 - 135 AD and Emperor Hadrian's violent response which was one of Rome's largest ever military responses to rebellion in the empire with some 13 legions being sent, (only 4 were sent in 70 AD for example); Hadrian then banned all Jews from even being with in eye sight of Jerusalem by pain of death and after this there were even fewer Jews living in Israel. This also meant the Sanhedrin could no longer visually sight the new moon from Jerusalem in order to know when their Sabbaths, new moons and annual feasts were. Even though the new moon could be sighted from Jerusalem up to 135 AD this meant nothing to the poor survivors living abroad as there was no way that the monthly sightings could be sent to them quickly enough for them to calculate when the Sabbaths, new moons and annual feasts were meant to be. They could try to sight the new moon from wherever they were but then this would be on different days compared to Jews who were living further to the east or west. 5. Instead the Jews found themselves living in an empire which was being taken over by the new Roman Julian calendar, named after Julius Caesar. This new calendar that first took effect in the province of Rome had started on 1st January 45 BC and this day was named 'Friday' (each the 7 days of this new calendar was given a new name, named after a Roman god). However the day before 1st January 45 BC the Romans calculated dates using a completely different ancient Roman calendar that had an 8 day week, where the days were simply named A,B,C,D,E,F,G & H (8 days) and which had been used for hundreds years by the Romans in the province of Rome. The new Julian calendar 7 day week was created by Sosigenes the Greek Mathematician and it had nothing to do with the ancient Hebrew calendar week, as they were totally separate from each other. It then took about 400 years before all the other countries within the Roman Empire were eventually forced to use the new Julian calendar as recorded in history. 6. As the new Roman Julian 7 day week that began separately from the ancient Hebrew week began to take over the Roman Empire, the early church, which was mainly made up of non-Jews (after Peter the first Pope), simply used the new Julian calendar's 7th day (Saturday) as the Sabbath, even though it had nothing to do with the ancient Hebrew calendar and its reckoning of when the Sabbath was. The Roman Catholic church carried on with this regardless of the fact that the Julian calendar was totally different from the ancient Hebrew calendar. 7. From 135 AD to 321 AD over half a dozen generations came and went, with each generation of impoverished Jews continuing the struggle to survive within the Roman Empire. As each generation lived and worked in these countries that were using the new 7 day Julian week, it meant that more and more Jews were forced to work on their Sabbath as calculated by the ancient Hebrew calendar or face becoming even more impoverished. While they tried to maintain as much of their traditions as possible most could not keep their Sabbaths, new moons or annual feasts on the correct day as calculated by their ancient Hebrew calendar. As said even if they tried to sight the new moon from wherever they were living this would not be on the same day compared to Jews who were living further to the east or west, and more importantly on the day the new moon would be seen from Jerusalem. As each generation gradually came and went it became harder and harder to NOT fit in with the new Roman Julian 7 day working week and its Saturday Sabbath. Eventually over these generations the ancient reckoning of the Sabbath as calculated by the ancient Hebrew calendar was practically lost to history and the Jews living in the Empire gradually accepted Saturday as the Sabbath more and more. 8. Then in 321 AD the Roman Emperor Constantine who hated the Jews (along with most of the rest of the Roman world) changed the day of rest on the new Julian calendar from Saturday to Sunday, this forced the impoverished Jews to either work on what many thought by now was the Sabbath (Saturday) or become even more impoverished. This caused and has since caused even more confusion amongst Christians and Jews as to when the real Sabbath is, as really it has never been on Saturday or Sunday on the Roman Julian calendar but has always been calculated by the ancient Hebrew calendar. 9. In response to all this in 359 AD Sanhedrin Rabbi Hillel II in Israel created the new modern Jewish calendar which uses the mathematically calculated Metonic 19 year lunar cycle, that allowed Jews to celebrate all of their new moon days and annual feast days on the same day no matter where in the world they lived (even though half of the time it is a day out compared to the visually sighted new moon from Jerusalem). However, although this gives a good approximation of when the Jewish new moon days and annual feast are, Hillel appears to have not attempted to try and get the Jews to also follow the original Sabbath as calculated by the ancient Hebrew calendar. The reason for this was because the Jews who were scattered across the Roman Empire and beyond were still simply struggling to survive and had become so used to the new Julian calendar and it's Saturday Sabbath, that if they would have tried to go back to worshipping on the correct day as reckoned by their ancient Hebrew calendar it would have placed a further burden on them and put them at risk of being even more persecuted, because taking days off work that were calculated by the ancient Hebrew calendar rather than fitting in with the Julian Saturday Sabbath would have caused confusion and more resentment towards them. 10. The Hebrew calendar and it reckoning of when the Sabbath really was drifted from human history to be almost forgotten. This calendar that was once common knowledge to the ancient Hebrews and the authors of the Bible never thought it necessary to explain this calendar in one convenient place as they never envisaged a time when it would not be used. However, hidden amongst the scriptures of the Bible are many references to the ancient Hebrew calendar and its Sabbaths, new moons and annual feasts, which can be sifted out and reconstructed. This is not an easy thing to do however, if it was then more people would know about it but then most people don't even know about all the above information either, so it is understandable if you have never heard about where and how these snippets of scripture explain the ancient Hebrew calendar. Their are various studies on the ancient Hebrew calendar as describes in the Bible and here are a few that are helpful: Articles: https://guidetothebible.wordpress.co...ding-the-book/ http://www.hope-of-israel.org/sabtosat.htm

  3. That's all incorrect. 1. It is reasonable to assume that Jesus kept the Sabbath and therefore the ancient Hebrew calendar and it's Sabbaths, new moons and annual feasts must have been common knowledge at this time. 2. 4. That's assuming they are using the modern Hillel II calendar but those problems are removed when using God's ancient Hebrew calendar.
  5. Deuteronomy 16:16 – Three times a year all your men must appear before the LORD your God at the place he will choose: Passover : Fulfilled by Jesus Pentecost : Fulfilled by Jesus Tabernacles : To be Fulfilled…

  7. No presumption about it just the evidence: 1. The Sanhedrin however did mange to largely survive and lived in Galilee where they maintained the practice of keeping the ancient Jewish calendar and it's Sabbaths by sighting the new moon from Jerusalem each month and could therefore determine when the Sabbath, new moon and annual feasts were. This is well recorded in History (do you need me to give proof?). 2. After the Simon Bar Kokbha revolt and Hadrian's violent response between 132 - 135 AD which was one of Rome's largest ever military responses to rebellion in the empire with some 13 legions being sent, (only 3 or 4 were sent in 70 AD for example). Hadrian then banned all Jews from even being with in eye sight of Jerusalem by pain of death. This is well recorded in history and after this there were even fewer Jews living in Israel (do you need me to give proof?). However, this meant the Jews could no longer visually sight the new moon from Jerusalem.3. Over the successive generation from 70 AD onward these traumatic events forced the Jews to look for sanctuary within the rest of empire and beyond, they were refugees scattered in small groups and families, struggling to survive in foreign countries where they were more often than not treated as the lowest of the low, (do you need me to give proof of this?). Even though the new moon could be sighted from Jerusalem up to 135 AD this meant nothing to these poor survivors as there was no way that the monthly sightings could be sent to them quickly enough for them to know. Basically their whole ancient Hebrew calendar was no longer in effect.4. Instead the Jews found themselves living in an empire which was being taken over by new Roman Julian calendar that had started in the province of Rome on 1st January 45 BC which was a Friday. However the day before this date was calculated using a completely different ancient Roman calendar that had an 8 day week, where the days were named A,B,C,D,E,F,G & H (8 days) (do you need me to give you proof of this?) and which had been used for hundreds years. Thus the new Julian calendar week had nothing to do with the ancient Hebrew calendar week, they were totally separate. Can you see this now? 5. From 135 AD to 321 AD over half a dozen generations came and went, with each generation of impoverished Jews continuing the struggle to survive. As each generation went by while living and working in the countries of the empire that were using the new 7 day Julian week more and more, it meant that more and more Jews were forced to work on the original Sabbath according to the ancient Hebrew calendar or face becoming even more impoverished. While they tried to maintain as much of their traditions as possible most could not keep there new moons or Sabbaths according to their ancient Jewish calendar. They could try to sight the new moon from wherever they were but then this would be on different days compared to Jews who were living further to the east or west; and although they knew this at first, and it became harder and harder to not fit in with this new working 'rolling' week system. Eventually over these generation the ancient reckoning of the Sabbath was practically lost. 6. Then in 321 AD Constantine changed the day of rest from Saturday to Sunday which forced the impoverished Jews to either work on what they thought was the Sabbath by this time and break the Sabbath or become even more impoverished (do you need me to give proof of this?). This caused and has since caused even more confusion amongst Christians and Jews as to when the real Sabbath is, as really it hasn't ever been on Saturday or Sunday on the Roman Julian calendar.7. In 359 AD Hillel created the new Jewish modern calendar which uses the Mathematically calculated Metonic 19 year lunar cycle which allows all the Jews to celebrate all of their new moon days and annual feast days on the same day no matter where in the world they live (even though half of the time the new moon day using this calculation is a day out). (Do you need me to give proof of this?). However, Hillel dropped any notion of trying to get the Jews to go back to using the ancient lunar Sabbath held on every 7th day from new moon day i.e. days 8, 15, 22, & 29 (from new moon day) for all the reasons above and as explained in the OP.8. The ancient lunar Sabbath held on every 7th day from new moon day i.e. days 8, 15, 22, & 29 (from new moon day) is described in the Bible, and can be studied here: https://guidetothebible.wordpress.co...ding-the-book/http://www.hope-of-israel.org/sabtosat.htmVideos: The Creator's Calendar9 min long (or faster with the high speed setting):https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DbzFGEfgP_815 mins (or faster with the high speed setting):International Date Line Change: The Sabbath Unchanged by Worlds Last Chance Ministries? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7sUyZpM5xls79 min (or faster with the high speed setting):Robert-Aaron Richmond explains from scripture how God’s Calendar works:https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_c...&v=wJq8tKvnemU
  8. I have re-read the thread and want to try and put straight a few things. There are two Jewish calendars the ancient one that was used up to the diaspora in 70 AD which was then gradually lost to history due to the reasons I gave in the OP .i.e. the fact the Jews could no longer visually sight the new (waxing crescent) moon from Jerusalem from 135 AD after the Simon Bar Kokbha revolt and also because the vast majority of Jews were then living out side of Israel in the Roman empire and beyond and most of them ended up being forced by Constantine in 325 AD to worship on Saturday on the new Julian Calendar's 7 day rolling week, and eventually most simply ended up using the new Julian calendar with its separate 7 day rolling week as a matter of expediency, and as said the Julian Calendar's new 7 day rolling week began on Friday 1st January 45 BC and therefore can not be used to calculate when the Sabbath is. Then there is the new modern Jewish calendar created by Hillel in 359 AD in response to the above situation which uses the Mathematically calculated Metonic 19 year lunar cycle which allows all the Jews to celebrate all of their new moon days and annual feast days on the same day no matter where in the world they live but Hillel dropped any notion of trying to get the Jews to go back to using the ancient lunar Sabbath held on every 7th day from new moon day i.e. days 8, 15, 22, & 29 (from new moon day) for all the reasons above and as explained in the OP. However since the year 2000 a Jewish American called Nehemia Gordon began to coordinate Aviv barley searches and new crescent moon sightings from Jerusalem. He is now the co-founder of the World Karaite Movement, a Karaite revival group in Israel. Some Christians like myself have recognised the importance of his work and its relevance to the re-establishment of God’s Calendar in the land of Israel, and how it connects to end time prophecy and the soon to be built temple that will use God's calendar. Any one can easily work out what day, month and year it is on God Calendar, all you need to know is when the new waxing crescent moon can be seen from Jerusalem, this information is freely available to all from a variety of sources, here's one I use: http://torahcalendar.com/MOON.asp?JDN=2458107&TDAY=1&MNFLG=2 http://torahcalendar.com/Calendar.asp?YM=Y2017M9 From this you can work out when the days are in each month and when each Sabbath is. The years are determined by the need for the Barley to be ripe in Israel, as it is needed for the first fruits offering on Day 16 month 1 according to Torah law. If it isn't ripe then the additional 13th month is added. Here is this years calendar for example from another source: https://guidetothebible.files.wordpress.com/2017/08/guide_v2017calendar_year5988_2018.pdf
  9. You miss understand everything again. I am not SDA. That video is not SDA. It is anti-SDA. If you had of watch it explains exactly what I now think you're trying to explain here: "It wasn't calculated by the 7th day after the New Moon, it was the 7th Day after the New Moon which the Moon could be observed." (This sentence actually contradicts itself too???) My God can't you read, or write??? I think I'm just going to go to bed. Hopefully I will be able to talk to someone else tomorrow who can read and understand all this. Please don't reply you just don't get anything. Hopeless.
  10. Anyone can see the moon from Jerusalem and know which is the new moon day each month. Look at this diagram; https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=lunar+solar+sabbath+calendar&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiG6MPH49zXAhURoKQKHUThA5AQ_AUICygC&biw=1280&bih=908#imgrc=XJ3hs-bydS0v8M: Sabbaths fall on every 7th day after new moon day, that is how it works. I am not selling anything. you have simply not read and or understood what is presented. Watching this will help you understand, you need only watch the first 11 minutes as the rest is not true: Edit: Video deleted, videos are to be in the video section of the forums only
  11. No no no, you're missing the whole point, I'm talking about the ancient Jewish calendar please read all of the link and watch if you want to understand it because at the moment you don't know what I'm talking about at all.
  12. That's not true. The fact is the Lunar Sabbath has always been there and still is there and can be easily calculated and in fact is calculated by thousands of people both Jewish and Christian every day. All you have to do is learn how it works: https://guidetothebible.wordpress.com/sabbath-isnt-on-sun-or-sat/
  13. If we trace the Sabbath using our familiar Gregorian/Julian calendars we get all the way back to Friday 1st of January 45BC which was the very first day of the new Roman Julian 7 day week calendar but the days before this date were calculated using the ancient Roman calendar that had an 8 day week, where the days were named A,B,C,D,E,F,G & H (8 days) and which had been used for hundreds years. Here's a picture of it written in stone:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_calendarMeanwhile over a 1000 miles away in Israel the Israelites had of course been using using there own separate 7 day week calendar for hundreds of years prior to the Roman people (and their calendars) even existing. This means the Roman Julian 7 day week created in 45BC and the Israelite 7 day week going all the way back to creation are totally separate and therefore the Sabbath can not be calculated using our modern Julian/Gregorian calendar. This can be hard to understand but it makes perfect sense once you do. The evidence is clear that the lunar Sabbath was gradually lost to history starting 70AD when the diaspora began to 359AD when Hillel II created the modern Jewish calendar and simply allowed the new Roman Julian 7 day rolling week to be used. This was because the Jews throughout the Roman Empire had been using the new Roman Julian 7 day rolling week for many generations before 359AD as it was by then the predominant calendar in use; And also because the lunar Sabbath could not be calculated as the Jews had been banned from living Jerusalem ever since the Simon Bar Kokhba revolt in 132AD, which meant they could no longer sight the new moon from Jerusalem and therefore could not know when each month really began and thus could not even know when the lunar Sabbaths really were. In addition in 325AD the Roman Emperor Constantine forced the Jews to worship on the pagan day called Saturday (named after the Roman god of agriculture; Saturnus). If you want to know when the Sabbath really is please read either of these links:https://guidetothebible.wordpress.com/start-reading-the-book/http://www.hope-of-israel.org/sabtosat.htm
  14. Yes I know your MCE theory/belief but you should at least revise your understanding when you say: ' its effect will be mostly a glancing one that will give the earth a push, speeding up its orbit and making the year 360 days. I do not see the day length being altered. ' If the earths rotation speeds up then it will increase the number of days per year, not decrease them and of course that would affect the length of each day too. i.e. faster rotation = shorter days and visa versa.
  15. Why was it 30 days, because the Bible say so: Genesis 7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, on the seventeenth day of the second month, on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the Heavens were opened. Genesis 7:24 The waters flooded the earth for a hundred and fifty days. Genesis 8:3-4 3 The water receded steadily from the earth. At the end of the hundred and fifty days the water had gone down, 4 and on the seventeenth day of the seventh month the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat. In other words, the five months consisted of thirty days each, and therefore twelve months would equal 360 days. God's word does not lie or distort. John 10:35 “The Scriptures cannot be discredited”.
  16. Hi Retrobyter The reason lunar months have gone from 30 days, as recorded in Genesis at the time of the flood, to 29.53 as it is today, may have been caused by the flood itself by causing the Earth's rotation to speed up slightly and thus increasing the number of days in a year from 360 days to 365.242 days. It's been theorised that the flood caused the land to sink somewhat into the ocean floor, which pulled the Earth's land mass closer to its centre of gravity (like an ice skater pulling their arms in to increase the speed of a spin) and secondly due to 'Tidal Acceleration’, which is the process by which the tides on Earth actually slow down the rotation of the Earth and that the drag on the Earth’s rotation decreased after the flood due to the oceans being able to 'pass' through the separated continents rather than having to surge around one large land mass.
  17. Thanks. Not many believe this instead the popular view today is we all get raptured before having to suffer anyway in the tribulation. What Christians don't generally understand is just how sinful we all are and that it's going to take Jesus a 1000 years to get us to a point where God the Father can finally return to His creation.
  18. Not many Christian's understand who the 144,00 actually are. The following verses tell us this is the structure of Christ's Government during His Millennial reign on Earth: : Rev 7:4 Then I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel. Matthew 19:28 Jesus said to them, "Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. Ephesians 2:20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. Rev 11:16 And the twenty-four elders, who were seated on their thrones before God, fell on their faces and worshipped God, Mark 10:40 but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared." Rev 11:3 And I will appoint my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth." Rev 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. Rev 2:26 To all who are victorious, who obey me to the very end, To them I will give authority over all the nations. 27They will rule the nations with an iron rod and smash them like clay pots. Rev 19:15 "He will rule them with an iron sceptre." This government is in the first Resurrection: Rev 20:5 (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection. The rest of the dead are the great multitude who resurrect at the end of the 1000 years.
  19. Please read this carefully: The current week on our Gregorian calendar continued without break from the previous Julian calendar; from THURSDAY 4th October 1582 to FRIDAY 15th October 1582 on to the Gregorian calendar: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gregorian_calendar However this calendar took hundreds of years to be accepted by other countries, England didn't accept the new Gregorian calendar till the 2nd September 1752): https://www.timeanddate.com/calendar...1752&country=9 The Julian calendar began on the 1st January 45BC: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julian_calendar However this calendar also took hundreds of years to be accepted by other countries and over the 1st to 3rd centuries AD, the Roman Empire gradually replaced it's old 8 day Roman week calendar with this new 7 day week Julian calendar: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_calendar Now the 1st of January 1 AD was a SATURDAY: https://www.timeanddate.com/calendar/?year=1&country=9 This matches Torahcalendar.com: http://www.torahcalendar.com/Calendar.asp?YM=Y-1M10 Which would make the 1st of January 45 BC a FRIDAY: http://www.torahcalendar.com/Calendar.asp?YM=Y-46M10 But what was the day before? Because the Romans were previously using an 8 day week calendar before this date and the days were not called Monday, Tuesday etc (which are names based on Roman gods), but instead the days were listed simply as; A, B, C, D, E, F, G, & H (8 Days): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_calendar Therefore how can the Roman Julian 7 day week calendar invented by the pagan Greek Mathematician Sosigenes in 45 BC have anything to do with the 7 day week the Jews and Israelites had been using for hundreds of years before this new 7 day week was invented, over a 1000 miles away? If you want to keep thinking Saturday or Sunday is your special day then carry on ignoring all this but if you want to know when the real Sabbath is then you can find out by studying any of these links: Texts: https://guidetothebible.wordpress.com/start-reading-the-book/ http://www.hope-of-israel.org/sabtosat.htm
  20. Well we're on similar lines in some ways, despite our differences. If you believe the tribulation begins by the revealing of the Anti-Christ and his take over of the world along with the re-building of the third temple then it clearly hasn't began yet. I also believe it will last seven years as Daniel says and Jubilee is every 50 years as Leviticus says. Jesus will return on the 6000th year, the 120th Jubilee. God bless
  21. The Earth is not flat so I don't know where you get your sources but then you also believe Saturday or Sunday are your special days, so your wrong there too. As for being a Yahwist I don't why that's an issue although I have never really claimed to be. Yahwist ˈjɑːwɪst/ noun the postulated author or authors of parts of the first six books of the Bible, in which God is regularly named Yahweh.
