  1. Please tell me you're joking! That young man was NOT taking a stand for Christ. If anything, it seemed to me he was mocking Christianity. This issue should have been dealt with privately between he and his parents. I do not believe this was a legitimate free-speech issue.

    Going To Church.

That is so true, catsmeow! I am very turned off by ministries who make the money their central theme. Unfortunately, many televised Christian programs have turned into more theatre than ministry for the Kingdom of God in which ( in my opinion) it all ends in dollar signs$$$. That is so displeasing and dishonoring to our Lord, I believe. I am not suggesting giving to ministries which you feel led to do so is wrong, but I am saying that ministries which seem to make the almighty dollar an ends to a mean should really rethink their strategy. sorry 'bout the sermon
  3. I received it, James. Thanks, it was greatly appreciated and encouraging.
  4. Thanks for replying, catsmeow...pm forthcoming.
  5. Thank you, James. That helped. Unfortunately, I am the only believer in my family, so it makes it that much tougher for us all. My mom thinks God is punishing her through her poor health and I try to be patient through her depression and mood swings. Thank you again for replying. Take care and God Bless.
  6. Sagz, that is a neat site, thanks for letting us know about it.
  7. Hello, all. I registered in August, but have only posted a couple of times. Not for lack of interest, believe me. I help care for my chronically ill mom and 90 yr old grandmother who came to live with us in February( I live with my folks). This is an incredibly stressful position to be in . I am glad to do it, because, as a Christian, I believe it is my responsibility. However, I am extremely discouraged much of the time and often feel trapped by circumstances. I would like to hear from anyone who has experience caring for a loved one( parent, spouse, it does not matter). It feels like an all-consuming thing, I just am seeking encouragement that I am doing what is right in God's eyes and any ideas on how to deal with the stress in a Godly way. I want to be pleasing to Christ above all else. Thanks.
  8. I own several translations, but I find the NIV the easiest to use for Bible Study.
  9. This is the first I've heard of this theology, but it sounds pretty terrible!
  10. ooooooooh! Preeeety!! :il:
  11. My favorite author is Kay Arthur, she is also my favorite Bible teacher
  12. NO MATTER WHAT, you need to keep believing that God will have the ultimate victory in this situation!!!
  13. That is my question also, many mental/physical ailments, I believe ,cam mimic demonic strongholds.
  14. I am new here, but I would like to chime in on this. I am wondering why it is necessary to have third or fourh parites in on a deliverance? In my opinion, if there is no unconfessed sin and the person in bondage is a believer and DESIRES (which I am sure is the case!) to be set free, then it seems that simply crying out to the Lord and asking HIM for deliverance is all that is necessary. I may be ignorant of demonic possession, but from the things I've read about spiritual warfare, it really is between the Lord and the person ensnared by evil spirits. We DO have authority as believers to cast Satan out, without the need for another person's help. Buscuit, I will pray for your wife's deliverance in the name of Jesus Christ. I hope what I've posted makes sense
