  1. I can't address generalized whining about how much better you are than me.
  2. If you research "God Breathed" you will find that Paul invented the word becasue it is only found once in scripture with no history behind it. It fails my test that all important aspects of Christianity are repeated by multiple authors. This is not one of those.
  3. Your opinion has no effect on my salvation. Thank God.
  4. I disobey you....agreed. My relationship with God is not affected though. We are quite close and only speak in a closet, away from your ears.
  5. Just some of Paul's failing to treat women equally to himself as the scriptures below require. There is no shortage of people who dispute that women, as a class, are treated as equals in scripture. Matthew 7:12 In everything, then, do to others as you would have them do to you. For this is the essence of the Law and the prophets.
  6. I pointed out that the women does not repent of her sin, that Jesus does not condemn her actions, and that Jesus does not tell her what her sins are, but sends her off to think about how she has sinned. All true. Plus Jesus sends all the law experts home to consider how they think they have sinned against God. All correct observations and text based.
  7. The truth is that Paul did not respect women based on their gender and so failed to implement the fundamental law of the scriptures. This was approved by even more men who assembled the scriptures. Matthew 7:12 In everything, then, do to others as you would have them do to you. For this is the essence of the Law and the prophets.
  8. You don't know what I know. My conclusions are well thought through and I am fully convinced they are accurate. Rom 14:5One man regards a certain day above the others, whilesomeone else considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.
  9. What happened was that I found a passage that was in conflict, with how people were applying scripture to the world. Matthew 7:12 In everything, then, do to others as you would have them do to you. For this is the essence of the Law and the prophets. The result was I began applying this scripture to applications and found that people were not following the law. Since this passage says it is the essance of all scripture, and it calls us to apply it to everything, then I must reject all conservative Christianity that does not follow the rule. So now I am a social liberal becasue this passage rejects a good amount of conservative fundamentalism. And this one passage has good support where conservatives rely on poor support and claim it is equally convincing. I can't fit the supporting passages in my signature file. These passages are generally ignored by conservatives becasue they love to hate their neighbors: James 2:8 If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well. Proverbs 3:29 Do not plan evil against your neighbor, who dwells trustingly beside you. Mark 12:31 The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” Romans 15:2 Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up. Galatians 5:14 For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 7:12 “So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. Luke 10:27 And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” Luke 6:31 And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them. Leviticus 19:16-18 ESV / 39 helpful votes You shall not go around as a slanderer among your people, and you shall not stand up against the life of your neighbor: I am the Lord. “You shall not hate your brother in your heart, but you shall reason frankly with your neighbor, lest you incur sin because of him. You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord. Romans 13:10 Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. Matthew 19:19 Honor your father and mother, and, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Galatians 6:10 So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.
  10. I grew past conservatism and now embrace the Love of Jesus, especially for sinners. I've outgrown and rejected conservative suppression of female leadership, and any unequal treatment of all minority groups, especially my neighbors.
  11. Becasue Moses was a murderer, we must each decide if we are doing right or wrong by God in each of those categories. I don't even know what your morality is this morning. Or your idolatry rating today.
  12. You'll have to be more specific than that to get me to repeat it all. But I can cover more on relativity! Here you can read that we each, in our own mind, do what is right. God understands and explains that here.
  13. That's becasue scripture is about the Spirit of man and Science is focused on physical aspects of Creation. Two different areas of knowledge. On the other hand: 19For what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20For since the creation of the worldGod’s invisible qualities, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from His workmanship, so thatmen are without excuse.
  14. God did allow evil becasue it is a consequence for not having love slaves, in that for the kind of Love that God desires, one must have the option to reject or embrace it. To have that option, existence without God must exist.
  15. Moses was a murderer. And I know at least one coward. Do fibs count as lies? I would agree that Penn & Teller are not yet saved.
  16. There is some truth to this. I stumbled across this passage: Matthew 7:12 In everything, then, do to others as you would have them do to you. For this is the essence of the Law and the prophets. and it occurred to me that any treatment of any group of people (others) must follow this guideline. And that most of what people object to about "Christians" is because they also fail to follow this rule. And then there was objection to "women talking in church" that also failed to follow this rule. And then there was "women as church leaders" also failing to follow this rule. So all the complaining about scripture and Christianity, turns out to be people not following the one foundational rule of Christianity. It's a message Jesus taught, but even his disiples didn't fully implement.
  17. People can read for themselves. I only stated regarding what scripture actually says. We all know that those before Jesus was born had the option of salvation as well.
  18. I didn't come up with the idea that scripture wasn't required for salvation. Moses and Abraham and Lot never spoke about Jesus. Then I read that all people, even those without having read scripture, are exposed to God's Holy Spirit directly. Rom 1:19 For what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from His workmanship, so that men are without excuse. And I believe what scripture says, that even before scripture was written, people were called to have faith in God. So, regarding John 8: So here we can read, Jesus does not condemn her sins, and he specifically says he does not condemn her sins nor does he explain what her sins are. Rather, He sends her home to decide for herself what her sins are. He also sends those who think it is their place to judge sins, to go home instead and think about their own sins. Nor does Jesus tell THEM what their sins are. He lets them decide for themselves what their sin are and to dwell on tha fact that becasue they sin, they are not able to judge sin or condemn others. Jesus, we believe worthy to identify sins, doesn't do it either. This passage explains that the sin in their own life.....the two by four BEAM prevents them from correctly seeing the speck of dust in the accused persons eye. Plus, this points to one solving the actual problem, not pointing fingers into peoples eyes. 37“Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven; Thanks for the opportunity to post scripture for all to read.
  19. A group of people brought a sexual criminal before Jesus and intended to stone her. He sent them packing for being so judgmental using their own failings as the reason that they were not qualified to judge. Then, He being qualified, also did not judge her. Nor did she repent. It seems Jesus has no judgment for sex crimes. Jesus did not point out her failings with scripture or call her a criminal. Then he let her go to decide for herself what her sins were. http://biblehub.com/bsb/john/8.htm
  20. Did Paul write them with the intention of them becoming scripture? Or are you saying Paul wrote them, and wrote the approval of them as well?
  21. The wicked have a catalogue of virtues. Imaging a bumbling criminal. Suppose one forgets their plan?
  22. Many of those forces mentioned can be considered sinister. Certainly social conditioning is huge.
  23. I don't believe that any of the "letters" were intended by the authors to become part of scripture.
