  1. One of the first artifacts we find around 40,000 years ago is a fishing hook made out of bone and fishing nets. People did not go far from water. Eden was in the Tigris - Euphrates river valley.
  2. Have you ever had a conversation with someone without ever speaking a word?
  3. My son did not smoke, drink or take drugs until I remarried. That was when all of that started. He was very close to a degree in electronic engineering, in his senior year when he dropped out of college. Because his friends mother got him started on drugs so she could buy them for herself. She died within a year of doing that. I stayed single for 17 years to give him every chance and every opportunity I could.
  4. Of course. I only have one stint so it is not that serious.
  5. I was ok sleeping in the lazy boy chair but I wanted to lay down with my wife for a bit. My lungs filled up with fluids and I quit breathing. She performed CPR witing for the fire dept to use a defibulator to get my heart going. The last thing I remember is waking her up.
  6. I went though all the classes, so I studied up on all of that. Dr Ornish has done a lot of research and a lot of different diseases responds well to a good diet and exercise. People take a lot of years off of their life when they eat junk processed foods.
  7. I did take four teacher training classes so I could learn how to better communicate.
  8. I never regained consciousness but they say it was drug induced. The odds of the fire department getting my heart going again was one in 1200 in the city I live in. I have seen a lot of people die so God must have a reason for keeping me alive. You would have to talk to my wife to see what the doctors told her. Because they did not know what to expect when they brought me out of the coma. I only remember my wife asking me if I knew who she was. I laughed, I was thinking of course I know who you are, your my wife LOL>
  9. Yes, I attended a church where the pastor preached at least 170 sermons on different things that made up the mind of Christ. You could fill up a dictionary with them. 5"Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus: 6Who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped," (Philippian 2:5) This is pretty clear that there are things we are not expected to understand. In this passage, something having to do with Equality. But the pastor only did his teaching on the A part of the passage: "Let this mind be in you". He never got into B the "form of God" or C "equality with God". People will start to scream blasphemy if anyone went anywhere near to talking about that.
  10. You can give the referance to make it easier for people to look it up if they want.
  11. Yes, that is true. After I had congestive heart failure, I was in a coma for a week. The doctors said I jump from subject to subect. My brother said I have always been that way so they decided not to give me any treatment for it. That was actually in 2005 that they put the Medtronic fibulator in me. That is why I figure God has a plan and a reason for keeping me alive. Even if it is difficult to communicate with people in a way that they can understand. I usually do not talk about this, but you did ask me a direct question about it. I think to talk about stuff like this is kind of a negative confession of faith. God always has a plan and He tells us: Proverbs 3:5 "lean not on your own understanding".
  12. This is difficult to understand. Most of the churchs I have been in are wonderful. The best part by far and away is the worship. Some are more friendly than others. For me I can understand shopping around for a church where people fit in better. But I can fit into just about any church. If anything I blame myself for not being more friendly and outgoing with people that find it difficult to talk to others.
  13. I agree with that. Just about all we need to know is in the Sermon on the Mount.
  14. I thought the law was given through Moses.
  15. Maybe you should because as far as I know Jesus tells us there is only One Law, to Love God and to love our neighbor as ourself. Perhaps you want to say there are there are three laws to love God, love our neighbor and to love ourself. We read in Galatians 3:24 "Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith." God is all about Justice but we are "justified by faith". The law is just our teacher to show us how to be good or righteous before God. David said: "Oh, how I love Your law! All day long it is my meditation". Psalms 119:97. David talks about his love for the law of God many times in the Psalms. The law shows us how to be the person God wants us to be. The grace of God does a work in us to transform us. The law helps us to know what the HOLY Spirit of God is doing in our life. Ephesians 2:8 "8For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9not by works, so that no one can boast." Clearly we are saved by the Grace of God, not our works. Although if we are saved we will show good works as evidence that God has saved us.
  16. Which law did God give us that we are not able to keep? In what way are we not able to be righteous, holy and sanctified before God?
  17. We are not responsable for that. We are only accountable to tell them and they can make their own choice.
  18. What scripture are you refering to?
  19. We actually judge ourselves. Philippian 2 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
  20. People are without excuse when they have been warned. We have to warn people or suffer the consequences if we don't. Ezekiel 3:17 “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel. Whenever you hear a word from My mouth, give them a warning from Me. 18 If I say to the wicked man, ‘You will surely die,’ but you do not warn him or speak out to warn him from his wicked way to save his life, that wicked man will die in his iniquity, and I will hold you responsible for his blood." Our reward is in Heaven and our acceptance is with God, not man. The wicked man will still die in his iniquity. The question here is if God will hold us accountable if we do not warn them. We need to do our best to encourage people that they can live right before God. Because the enemy will try to tell them that they can't.
  21. 2 Timothy 3 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people. 6 They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over gullible women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, 7 always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth. Yes and the point I was trying to make is that we are ALL GUILTY, none of us are innocent. In the parable of the Pharisee and a tax collector, it was the tax collector who admitted his guilt and humbled himself before God. He was the one that was justified. We can only judge ourselves. God does not give us the ability to judge others. In Heaven everything is out in the open. They have nothing to hide or conceal. People do not talk about you behind your back there.
  22. Land use to be fifty cents an acre, but the taxes were $2. Only it was a lottery, you could not pick and choose. You paid your money and you took your chances on getting good land or swamp land. It is still a joke today that you can get a great price on some swamp land in flordia https://worthychristianforums-h45go6maxh5rpepgu.netdna-ssl.com/uploads/emoticons/default_smile.png
  23. Jesus or any of His disciples would be banned on most internet sites today.
  24. The King James is authorized, but it is not the most easy to understand. I use Bible hub and I look at the different translations. We are told in Jeremiah 1:12 "I am watching to see that my word is fulfilled.” It is the KJV that God is watching over to perform. But most everyone can agree this is not the most easy translation to understand. The paraphrase Bibles are not accurate and they are not even a translation. They are a commentary and are subject to error. It is ok to read them along with the KJV. I still think the NIV is easier to understand. I read the NIV twice and then I read the KJV three times.
