    Ask a Catholic Anything!

You could probably guess from the title that I am Catholic and I will be happy to answer any questions you might have about Catholicism! I will not debate or argue, but I will tell you what we believe and why we believe it. I probably won’t know all the answers. So go ahead and ask any questions you might have! I’d be happy to try to answer them!

Oh, I was raised Baptist, I know all about what being “born again” is, at least according to Baptists. We Catholics don’t have quite the same beliefs about salvation, so the terminology is a bit different. We believe that we are “born again,” or divinely adopted into God’s family, given the Holy Spirit, and made a new creature, at baptism. If I remember correctly, being “born again” is the same thing as saying “saved.” We Catholics believe that salvation is a process and not a one-time event, so our “saved” is referred to as “being in a state of grace.” I’d be happy to answer other questions on another thread!

Yup! I was raised Christian. Of course, if we’re being technical here, I didn’t get serious about my faith and get baptized until like 15-16. Thanks everyone for the welcome!

Hello all, I hope I can get into these forums. I have been a Christian my whole life. Soon, I will be leaving my Protestant upbringing behind and converting into the Catholic faith. Just from searching around a bit on these forums, I can tell Catholicism isn’t quite a favorite around here, but I’m hoping to get into some good discussions anyway! Although I’m not one for debating or arguing, I am more than willing to answer questions about Catholicism that anyone may have. (I might start a new thread later for that, I think this thread is just for welcomes.) I am going to be a nursing student starting this Fall, so I’m also excited about that. So, anyways, hello!!
