I like it in a way because i dont think abortion should be used as a form of birth control.

On the other hand, i dont like that there aren't any exceptions such as rape or incest situations.

    What are your thoughts?

Far better ways to deal with a baby born from rape. There are tons of couples (some with infertility issues) who would LOVE to adopt.

  2. To echo what a previous user posted, I liken it to eating food sacrificed to idols. The thing that bothers me is not the physical exercise, but the "emptying of mind" or whatever the goal is. IMO, clearing the mind is akin to the Scripture talking about the man's house being clean and in order, with the expelled spirit returning with a bunch of his buddies.

  3. Sacrifice and offering you did not desire but my ears you have opened. Burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not require. Then I said, “Here I am, I have come— it is written about me in the scroll. I desire to do your will, my God; your law is within my heart.” ~ Psalm 40:6-8

  4. HUGE Petra fan here. Have every studio album they put out.

Grave Robber has a very significant place in my heart. My mom passed away from cancer in 2008, and this song serves a reminder that I will see her once more when I enter the Kingdom. (I actually prefer this version of Grave Robber to the original.)

  5. Those are the verses of the Shema. My godparents learned it when they went to Israel last October, and they had the Hebrew verses transliterated to English, and we would sing it before Sunday School.

    Shema Yisrael

    Adonai Eloheynu

    Adonai Echad

    Baruch Shem Kevod

    Malchu'to

    Leolam Vaed

@Kinison I am familiar with all of these though I have not seen them in concert. I was wondering about some of these flagging events such as the Ramp. Have you ever thought of going to one?:) Btw, thanks for the link. I loved the video!

I definitely would like to go to the Ramp sometime. They're in Hamilton, Alabama, just 300 miles from me, so that's not too bad a drive. I did get to go to IHOP in Kansas City a couple years ago for my 40th birthday, which was a really great experience.

Can't say I have seen that. Flags as in flag drill team flags? Interesting,  -are there others with you also waving flags?

I have images of the Baht Rivka Whitten DVD singing Ha Ben Yakir Li and waving a large flag waving as she sings and dances, and I also having competing images of crowds waving little flags running through my mind's eye.( Just decided to play that DVD as I read here.) I'd post the link, but it is on Youtube - Easy enough to find if interested, the worship lifts my spirit.

Just get on youtube and look up the phrase "Called to Flag". It's also the name of that particular channel and the people who make my flags.  See their videos for examples.

May  both of you get to be all "happy and clappy" together soon. My own bride and I have  now that I have consented to  going to and even joining one of them there kind of churches.

I like that; "Happy and Clappy"! It is a good description of the joy  deeply felt in the emotion of the presence of the Holy Spirit at worship, sermon, and fellowship once not being resisted by me and my own stoic upbringing.

I went from stoic unbeliever atheist, to chosen and frozen Baptist, to all work and no play lessons, until my own bride said she misses her Pentecostal leanings, and we found - were led to- a more happy - clappy worship house of our Lord Jesus.

Now even I sometimes find myself raising my arms in praise of God during worship music. I even get a tear or two or more on occasion. Hurts my tough old crusty geezer look, but hey I just don't much care any more. I'm all Happy and I do get at least  hand raising  and toe tapping if not clappy.

May God move the two of you to a place of corporate worship, and may each of you have the comfort of the Holy Spirit dwelling within.

That's where I'm at right now. Once a mindless robot during worship, now I dance with flags in my hands at the back of our sanctuary.

  9. I'm an assistant manager in retail, and I consider myself blessed to be where I'm at. Most of my customers are regulars who I see all the time, and there are times when they open up about their problems, thereby giving me something (or someone) to pray for. To me, I'm being the church by doing my best to serve in the environment I've been given.

  10. I think the biggest difference between Peter and Judas was that Peter was spiritually immature (as many of us are, or have been), but he repented and was restored. The Bible says that Judas was remorseful, but instead of repenting, he committed suicide. But I digress.

As for the unpardonable sin, the context in which Jesus says this relates to the Pharisees attributing Jesus' miracles to Satan, especially since He performed many of those miracles right before their eyes.

I know of lots of people who fear that they have done that very thing, and I was one of them until I learned the context, and backed up my repentance with scripture (See John 6:37, 2 Corinthians 7:10)
