God is not a supernatural sugar daddy giving treats to cute requests, but an Almighty, Holy God with a plan for the world. We only get what is in accordance with his will.

That's why once you learn to pray for only those things that you truly believe are probably in accordance with His will, your answer rate will go up significantly.

Is it foolish or prideful of me to do something a powerful law firm is warning me not to do? Or is it courageous? Right now I feel it’s my duty to put truth out there and to not  be scared.

As much as it kills me to say it whenever you're trying to decide the validity of something that came from a lawyer you need another lawyer to tell you what they think of their claims or threats. It's a shame but our laws (I assume you're in the US) are so convoluted so as to allow for much legal wrangling on certain issues. Just remember who the lawyers to whom you refer represent and I'll bet it's someone that wouldn't like whatever you have to publish. I don't know if the issue is privacy related, contractual, or a libel/slander type of issue but just find an attorney who will represent your interests (And from what little you say there may possibly be one out there who is a crusader on your particular issue). They will advise you exactly what to expect as a result of your actions. I'm not a big fan of our legal system these days but I'm a realist enough to know the only way to deal with lawyers is to have one of your own who sympathizes with your position and will defend it. (That's just one part of the system I'm not fond of)

    R. Wurmbrand was pondering in prison one day the following:

Moses asked God, “Let me cross over and see the good land beyond the Jordan.” The Lord answered, “Enough of that! Speak no more to Me of this matter” (Deuteronomy 3:25,26). Here is an instance not of an unanswered prayer, but of a prayer clearly refused. How does this fit with, “Ask and it will be given you”? Well, a little later, some 3,500 years (or, to use the biblical expression, “in those days”), Jesus was on Mount Tabor with His disciples and “Moses and Elijah appeared to them” (Matthew 17:3). Mount Tabor is in Canaan, beyond Jordan, in the Promised Land. So Moses’ request was finally granted, only with a few thousand years’ delay. Not much for one whose life is eternal.

We pray often, but it is always in God's good timing.

You don't hear many folks these days speaking of the implications of Christ's transfiguration and this is an angle that I've not heard before so, thanks.

  4. When Daniel Boone was asked how many times he had been lost in his trailblazing adventures he replied "Why I've never been lost. I've been slightly bewildered sometimes for days on end but never lost." I've recently put my 2 cents worth into a couple of lengthy and somewhat involved (classic understatement) discussions on topics ranging from the various Rapture theories to the Nephilim. I visited these topics due to the large number of posts and out of curiosity as to why the great interest.  I just wanted to remind everyone that while there may be a tendency on the part of some to get lost in these issues (or dig in deeply on a certain theory) to the detriment of other issues that may be more relevant to our Salvation or understanding of the teachings of Christ there is something to be learned from this. It's that it's OK to be slightly bewildered by such involved discussion or debate and it's all good as long as you don't get lost. And even if you do get lost just have Faith that God still knows the way home and He'll lead you! God Bless

    thats a point : )

although I thought of using the quote box to keep it all neat, separate and for clarity of who said what.

But remember I can't transfer multiple quote boxes anyway since when you hit quote it only opens the box in the window that you are in (and the post is in the other one) so it's just a vicious circle and if I open multiple blank boxes in the text I'll still have the problem of having to manually attribute each one anyway so I'm going to rethink this and will probably opt for the idea of just posting a "Readers Digest" version and instead of many quotes, I'll just summarize most of them and then only quote those where I can't.

You could do a series of shorter posts?

Letting people on here know you have quoted them is important, I think.

That's the dilemma. I agree that I should attribute quotes and that's why I'm looking for a shortcut that does it. I may just try to post a shorter one but I'd still have to manually attribute the quotes if I take them from multiple topics.

this may not be what you mean but if you click on the icon in the reply bar, with the two commas on, it opens up a blank quote box for you to paste a qute into.

Again it won't transfer from window to window though. It only works on the page where you get the quote (and since they are from different topics that doesn't help) and so I can't copy and paste or even drag it from window to window. It'll even work for multiple quotes from the same topic or thread, it's when I open a new topic to do more that I'm having difficulty.

Well, I should have scrolled down and I would have seen you said the same thing

Just tried and it will work but won't properly attribute the quotes since I can't move the "quote" function from window to window except the first one. I guess I'm going to do the Word document thing and just post it a couple days later than planned.

I Open up the forum in a separate Window and copy and paste from there. You will not get your Quote box that way but at least you can copy what was written. So as long as you have one quote box, you will get the attention of the person you are talking to.

Duh, I'm getting old! I didn't even think of opening a second Worthy window. Good idea but I need to get multiple quotes from multiple people in the text. Will it work as I go from page to page copying different people? Or will they all end up looking as if they are attributed to the first person who I quote? Don't need any misattributed (hey that's not a word) quotes.

I open another window on my computer, so I have them side by side. Then I can flick from one window to the next. The original window is where I compose my message and quotes, the second window is for me to scroll around finding them. Mind you I dont usually do more than a couple of quotes.

Or you could use a Word document, then copy and paste the whole thing into a post on here?

I thought about the Word document thing and have done that on shorter texts but this one is long with a lot of cut and pastes to add. That's just a lot of extra toggling that I've been trying to avoid by doing it all here.

  11. Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me with an issue I'm having with copying and pasting from multiple posts and topics and trying to put these passages in a single new topic. It seems every time I copy and paste something into the body of my topic and then leave to go and copy a new passage to paste into the same text, when I return to the editor, the previous copied and  pasted content is gone. Everything I typed is still there but the portion that was copied and pasted is gone. Is there some trick to copying multiple quotes from different topics and pasting them in a single new post?

All the promises were delivered not to the church today, the body of Christ, but rather to the twelve disciples.

I happen to believe that everything that Christ taught or promised applies to everyone of us equally, else who's going to say which are for us and which are for the Apostles only or which are just for "that guy behind that tree".
