  1. Maybe this? He talks about maybe coming with a Rod....rod of correction? 1 cor 4:14 I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you. 15 For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel. 16 Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me. 17 For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church. 18 Now some are puffed up, as though I would not come to you. 19 But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power. 20 For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power. 21 What will ye? shall I come unto you with a rod, or in love, and in the spirit of meekness?
  2. Hi Marilyn. I think Israel is vessel that keeps God's holy, righteous and good judgment on this earth. How he will end it all I don't know but, Israel keeps it's force . 1 ¶ What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision? 2 Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God. 3 For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect? 4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged. 5 But if our unrighteousness commend the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who taketh vengeance? (I speak as a man) 6 God forbid: for then how shall God judge the world? Judgement of the wicked is to everyone's benefit. The world will be judged on how it treats Israel. Like he did from the day they left Egypt. Isn't this really the same thing going on today with Israel. They simply asked for peace.... De 20:10 When thou comest nigh unto a city to fight against it, then proclaim peace unto it. De 20:11 And it shall be, if it make thee answer of peace, and open unto thee, then it shall be, that all the people that is found therein shall be tributaries unto thee, and they shall serve thee. De 20:12 And if it will make no peace with thee, but will make war against thee, then thou shalt besiege it: De 23:6 Thou shalt not seek their peace nor their prosperity all thy days for ever.
  3. In the book of Hebrews alot concerns priesthood. In fact the book opens with Jesus purging our sins. Heb 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; Inheritance etc. All Jew's are Hebrews, including priests. Levi, is given explicit mention with regards to tithes while yet in the loins of Abraham. Yet all the talk of it only being for Jew's seems out of step with the book, as well as Moses law. Abraham was promised land right? IN both covenants Nu 18:20 And the LORD spake unto Aaron, Thou shalt have no inheritance in their land, neither shalt thou have any part among them: I am thy part and thine inheritance among the children of Israel. Nu 18:23 But the Levites shall do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they shall bear their iniquity: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations, that among the children of Israel they have no inheritance. The entire tribe are not Heirs with "Israel". No inheritance and no part with them. But yet the themes of Hebrews is here Tithes inheritance of Levi, priests Nu 18:24 But the tithes of the children of Israel, which they offer as an heave offering unto the LORD, I have given to the Levites to inherit: therefore I have said unto them, Among the children of Israel they shall have no inheritance. No inheritance in their land as Hebrews (jews) Nu 18:20 And the LORD spake unto Aaron, Thou shalt have no inheritance in their land, neither shalt thou have any part among them: I am thy part and thine inheritance among the children of Israel. Nu 26:62 And those that were numbered of them were twenty and three thousand, all males from a month old and upward: for they were not numbered among the children of Israel, because there was no inheritance given them among the children of Israel. 1 The priests the Levites, and all the tribe of Levi, shall have no part nor inheritance with Israel: they shall eat the offerings of the LORD made by fire, and his inheritance. The Lord is their inheritance. De 18:2 Therefore shall they have no inheritance among their brethren: the LORD is their inheritance, as he hath said unto them. Furthermore in Joshua we know The priesthood is an inheritance to Levi........ Jos 18:7 But the Levites have no part among you; for the priesthood of the LORD is their inheritance: and Gad, and Reuben, and half the tribe of Manasseh, have received their inheritance beyond Jordan on the east, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave them. Where are these concepts in this discussion? How and where are they applied. No inheritance in the land for the Levites, the Priests, holy ones. Not bothersome when you consider Both the book of acts, as well as Hebrews tells us Abe, Isaac, Jacob was not given any either, at least in their days on the earth. Moses law I think is portrayed as the law of that land. Yet Deut tells us the covenant Moses was making with them that day was not made with their fathers. I just am feeling "lost" in this thread.
  4. Hi Ad Hoc, I think the confusion lies in the covenants made with Abraham. I think we have wrong idea's when we focus on the earthly worldly (temporal) things. The two covenants are inheritances. And the heirs of those covenants. First, God's concern is keeping his promises to Abraham himself. To transfer those promises to other individuals or entities is a form of transference AKA replacement theology of it's own. What does God tell Abraham in Genesis 15. 1. The seed, heirs (of redemption) Gen 15:13 And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years; 14 And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance. 2. Abraham will die 15 And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age. 3. The seed here are the fourth generation of his seed.... 16 But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full. In the above Isaac, and Jacob are not mentioned, and Abraham will die. Written in Hebrews Heb 11:13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. Written in Acts Speaking of Abraham Acts 7:4 Then came he out of the land of the Chaldaeans, and dwelt in Charran: and from thence, when his father was dead, he removed him into this land, wherein ye now dwell. 5 And he gave him none inheritance in it, no, not so much as to set his foot on: yet he promised that he would give it to him for a possession, and to his seed after him, when as yet he had no child. Written in the law Ge 50:25 And Joseph took an oath of the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you, and ye shall carry up my bones from hence. Ex 1:6 And Joseph died, and all his brethren, and all that generation. Ex 13:19 And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him: for he had straitly sworn the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you; and ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you. These all knew God would raise them from the dead to keep his promised inheritance..... That is what the covenant of Genesis 17 was about... Ge 21:12 And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called. Ro 9:7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. Heb 11:18 Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: Hence the testing of Abraham to offer up Isaac. Who are the seed in this covenant? Kings Ge 17:6 And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee. Ge 17:16 And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her.
  5. Hello Know Jah. In the blood of the new covenant yes, all scripture is profitable.
  6. right. And I am a side sleeper. There were times it poked me at night trying to sleep.
  7. I do not know. Boys and men did not do that in my day.
  8. Yes. But here what is acceptable to God for an offering, is distinct from Mosaic dietary law. There is no inconsistency, to note clean and unclean for Noah did not mean dietary for him.
  9. Yes. The only association for clean and unclean at that time was concerning sacrifices to God. The same as Moses gave law concerning sacrifices as well.
  10. These were not dietary for Noah. They were for sacrifice. Kosher law under Moses was not limited to eating only animals that were fit for his altar. It is consistent. God is going back to when he gave them the green herb. There is no inconsistency with Moses law
  11. Clean and unclean for Noah was not dietary, unless you consider what was offered as sacrifice was for God's consumption only? Thanks farouk
  12. Ge 9:3 Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things. It says just like the green herb. This goes back to here Ge 1:30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. Altar kosher... Ge 8:20 And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
  13. Thank you farouk It has been a while now but he lived to be 100 years old. Has dimentia for years so it was time. It felt odd to be in my 60's losing a parent. Oh yes. When I got a little older I bought solid gold very small hoops for pretty much that purpose. Real solid gold so no allergy would occur. I also got the kind that had no posts Wouldn't poke me, didn't need to worry about cleaning the post holder pressing on the back on my skin.. They were real small hoops that had one end slip into the other end of the hoop. My sister in law had her young daughter's ear pierced (my niece) and was concerned about what kind to have her wear. I gave her mine. If I had kept bought another pair, my ears probably would be open still. they were just perfect for that.
  14. Well I will wear some jewelry on certain occassions but not often. My fathers funeral I bought a necklace and earrings. I could only get one in. I tried and tried to get it in but it wasn't gonna happen. The particular ear I always had more trouble with. I think I jerked a little and it was not a straight shot through was the problem. But that day I wished it had opened. Yes, my sister loves jewelry. Rings, earrings, necklaces, broaches or bracelets. I don't mind any of those things, ankle bracelets are nice. I just don't wear them much anymore.
  15. I don't know that my daughter did it for anything other than she thought it was cool. I don't know. But it kept getting infected so she gave up on it. She doesn't have a tummy piercing I don't think???? My own ear piercing has grown back together. I am not much of jewelry person any way. I do wear a ring I like, but not much else. My sister on the other hand likes jewelry alot LOL.
  16. LOL, I looked it up myself. Couldn't make heads or tails of it. It seems the definition has changed and it now just depends. At least that is what I got out of it. Whichever the case, animal cruelty is awful, and it seems we all agree on that. I will say, I have found for some of my own pets, they can be very loving. And those that I have put down, I have blubbered like a baby.
  17. I had mine pierced in 5th grade. I don't remember how that got started. I just remember my mom and older sisters ceciding to do it. So I did too! Did it at home. Used a clothes pin and potato and a needle. My daughter got her nose pierced after she was older. I did not like nose piercings, or the tongue. Probably a generational thing. I am getting used to it more now. I do like multiple piercing up the ear. That looks nice I think.
  18. Yeah, you are probably right. An arrow head in the neck or shoulder, really wouldn't be much different than a bullet, I guess. We have found those as well when I think about it.
  19. All I know is we would find arrow heads in shoulders etc. It makes me sad to think how long it suffered. Some places enough to make it go down? Sure, it probably took a little time. It just seems there is a much quicker method than that.
  20. I believe the issue is animal cruelty in the bible. For myself, I have been in the meat business, of the type that was from the farm, to the cooler to age and then, process for home freezer. So I have seen animal slaughter. For myself, the methods used as cutting the throat, I seen one time, as it was Muslims. I had to leave. To me that was slow and hard to see. The animals being brought i9n from farms, killed in the field, were shot between the eyes. Dead instantly. For me, it seemed more humane. Usda for commercial kill floors use a stun gun, then slit the throat. That too, seems more humane than just slitting the throat. But, when it comes to kosher, the blood is pumped out by the heart until of course it stops beating (it is slow). Same is true of a stunned animal. Therefore getting as much blood out as possible. The hunting method of bow and arrow bothers me the most. But thgere is the bow and arrow season. That imo is just cruel. when there are much better available.
  21. You said ex-Jew's first. Then all Christians. So why not Ex-Gentiles?
  22. Exactly ! That was my point, but you did so much better here
  23. Ex-Jew's? How so? Just curious how you see that.
  24. Hey there! Another good post of scripture. I agree it is written to Hebrews. Just like letters were written to the Corinthians and the Thessalonians, and Ephesians. So also is Hebrews.
  25. I would be curious as to why they say that? I do not think it is true.
