Hebrews 9.26: "So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation."
-
A sobering consideration, indeed..........

Acts 17.30: "God...now commandeth all men every where to repent:"
-
Hi @timf This also reminds me of Philippians 2, where the Lord Jesus 'humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the Cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him....'

1 Corinthians 15.20 indeed shows that the believer is on different ground: "But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept."

Poll: Faith-based tattoo: Have you ever talked to someone with one?

@maddy07 Your post reminds me a bit of what Shekinah said, below: ..................... Shekinah said: I am a born again Christian and I do have a tattoo. Would love to put a picture but it says eternal but the T is a cross.Having always admired tattoos when asked where mine was I was tired of always saying i did not have one. The conversation always ended. Now that I have one I do have conversations. I talk about how everyone is eternal in their soul, and it matters how we treat people. How we have to consider heaven and hell may come into the conversation Shekinah fromhispresence dot org .................... So can you see yourself using it eventually as a witness tool, like Shekinah? -
Hi @maddy07 Reminds me also of Hebrews 12.2-3: "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds."

Reminds me also of Anne Steele, who wrote this in the 18th century: Oh, may these hallowed pages be Our joy by day and night, And still new beauties may we see, And still increasing light. Divine Instructor, gracious Lord, O grant our fervent prayer, Teach us to love Thy sacred Word, And view the Savior there. cc @maddy07

Father, Son and Holy Spirit are overwhelmingly present in Scripture; look at the writings of John, for example (Gospel, Epistles, Revelation).

Well, I do a lot of study with hard copies of Bibles and commentaries. The wisdom is to use electronic resources wisely but not be dominated by them.

Print size is an issue increasingly for some ppl as the years go by. I had an edition that I used a lot; now the print is a struggle sometimes.

@maddy07 Well, sounds like she is wanting to help make it a memorable experience for you; esp. if she knows what it's like if she has one herself. As a memorable experience entering adulthood, however, it's what you were saying on the other thread about having a well-read Bible that is the real priority in life: prayer and the Scriptures every day are a really solid foundation in life, before the Lord. -

@maddy07 Sounds like you've got it already planned for the milestone b-day. (Thanks for participating in the poll...) Some Christians might say it's unlady-like. ............ Cachalot said: Tattoos are unlady-like. That is why I would never have one. christianityboard dot com .................. But in some areas, for faith-based designs, professing Christians strongly prioritize their tattoo parlor ink up: .............. Quote ..in the rural Bible Belt. Just about every person in three of the four sides of my family (bio parents, step parents) have multiple tattoos. Most of them are biblical (crosses between the shoulder blades are the most common ones) getting tattoos when your old enough is pretty much expected in the family. source: reddit ................... Quote Around here (Bible Belt), it is common, especially among evangelical Christians, for the girls under about 40 to have religious tattoos. More do than don't, especially when you get to the under 30 crowd. I hardly know any female at church that is under 30 that does not have a tattoo. forums dot thewelltrainedmind dot com .................. Hi @maddy07 The well-used state of your Bible bodes well, really, because it show just how much of it may be engraved on your heart.............

Hi; Father, Son and Holy Spirit were involved at the Cross: Hebrews 9.14: "How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?"

Psalm 110.1: "The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool."

What must someone believe in order to be saved?
farouk replied to z88's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
Hi @z88 Consider also the uniqueness of the 'name that is above every name' (Philippians 2), borne by the Saviour went to the Cross (see context). -
Jude 3: "Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints."
