Nations have Law to obey, so far only the chicom executed corruptors and jail their families, thats why China can grow to be a wealthy nations but still corruptions are many in china, thieves always try to steal.
To love our enemies doesnt mean corruptors are exempted from law. If they dare to steal although the law gives death sentence then they challenge death blatantly and must be punished by Law.
If we just forgive all crimes what Will become of nations ? Total riot and disorder and poverty. So God via Joshua has given an example.
When I was in Saudi Arabia I rented a room in hotel and the floor only had one Bathroom at end of the hall. As I was going to shower and had all my personal items some one ask why are you taking those items with you? I said my room has no lock on the door and they said you can leave those items in your room If anyone steals we cut off their hands. They wont steel here.

I am having a strange morning as far as being able to comprehend what should be simple concepts.
I understand the Bible was there, but since it couldn't be touched, and what was going on seems to not have been of anything taught in it...how could they have taught you about God. Unless you are saying they let you know there was a Creator and disrespecting Him was not allowed...?
Every time one of us said something that sounded like we were using Gods name in vain we got spanked and told there is a God and do not say His name in vain. I guess that isn't actually teaching more telling. The only time I saw the bible open was when some one spoke of my Moms Mom and she kept her picture in the bible and showed it. I told you it was a weird childhood I grew up in.If you look at my profile every school change is when my parents split up; summer splits not shown.

Not one? Are you sure? If telling would make one person believe, wouldn't that be enough? If you were telling it for the purposes of God, would it matter anyhow?
My grandfather And Grandmother bought 100 acres of land and their 11 kids settled the land by the road as they grew up. Everything else was used for farming. My Grandmother and one Aunt did not cuss, drink, smoke, or holler, spake kids. Everyone else did. we would consider ourselves lucky if we got spanked by our aunt or uncle and it ended there. Most times by the time we got home they had called Mom and we got the switch and if that was not enough when Dad came home if he did not like what Mom said he would also use his leather belt on us. Even with all the cussing, smoking, drinking, hollering and multiple spanking for one wrong we were taught that God made us and never use his name in vain. It took a few spankings for me and my 6 brother and 4 sisters to learn God made us and not to use his name in vain. The only Bible I ever saw growing up was on a coffee table that could not be touched.
I'm Glad they taught us about God.

"But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe My words?" John 5:47 KJV
When I was little, I was told the 'stories' about God. God created everything, even us. There was a garden, God put Adam, his first man in it and made a woman from and for him. They ate an apple, got kicked out and were separated from God. So God, who still loved us, came here Himself, to be born just like we were, to show us how to be good, and get back to Him. I got the Christmas story, the 'Easter' story, started to pray, tell Him what I did wrong and ask to be forgiven so He would love me again...
Almost my entire life, I BELIEVED 'I believed in God', BUT if Satan would have come, I probably would have been 'of the world' and worshipped the image, took the mark, and happily continued to buy and sell,
and Jesus would have told me "I never knew you". What could I have replied but 'I never knew you either'.
It wasn't until I sat down with the words of God and started diligently reading them that I realized my entire 'belief' was basically of my own making and was, for the most part, VOID of almost all of Gods Truth.
So, when does a true 'believing' come about? Or when does one go from, 'I never knew you' to 'My good and faithful servant'?
Can anyone 'believe' in something in which they possess NO TRUTH? Can we believe in Jesus, if we don't know His words?
If I told how my child hood was no one would believe

(Worthy News) – The Knesset (Israeli Parliament) Law Committee on Monday approved a bill aimed at preventing the prime minister’s ouster, which now passes to the plenum for the first reading later today.
The bill was proposed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s coalition leader and Likud member Ofir Katz, amid concerns that the attorney general could rule that Netanyahu be impeached over his corruption trials and judicial reform plans.
According to the text, the Supreme Court would not be able to deliberate a possible dismissal of the prime minister, and that only a physical or mental incapacity could force him to leave office. In the event that lawmakers requested the departure of the prime minister contrary to the government’s decision, then a majority of 90 deputies out of the 120 in the Knesset would be needed on a vote for his dismissal. Between this and the removal of power from the judicial; looks like he will have full control

If purgatory were true, then the ending of the verse would change to read "but he himself shall be saved by fire", but it doesn't read that way. The colon lists two facts. First, those who lose their works will not lose salvation. Secondly, due to the semicolon, a like minded idea is presented, "yet so as by fire". What word tells us it is not because of the fire we remain saved? It's the word "as", painting a picture and not reality.
Thanks OneLight

Would you point to the scripture that would supply support your theory that "we must be cleansed by fire to become perfect". I have not seen this in scripture before.
I not saying i'm right; That is how I understand the verse most times i'm wrong that is why i'm here to see where my mistakes are in understanding the Word.

But is salvation perfect? If it is, wouldn't it perfect those who are saved without requiring more work to earn it?
I don't think I am qualified to answer that first question. On your second question. I would have a hard time understanding how one is saved and lives 20 years to become perfect and another is saved and live 1 year dies and is perfect. I do not think we become perfect as long as we are the the physical body. And if God or Jesus cleans us with fire we are not doing extra work.

1 Cor 3:15 is about eternal reward, or loss thereof. That is what "suffer loss" is referring to. Not salvation.
I did not mean one would loose salvation. The verse clearly states no loss of salvation. God is perfect Jesus is perfect No human saved is perfect. Being imperfect saved beings we must be cleansed by fire to become perfect. does this sound better?

Not necessarily: consider that some early Christians went to purchase slaves for the purpose of setting them free. Being purchased says more about what you were than what you are.
In our case we are heirs who have been in bondage, and we were bought out of bondage into freedom.
It makes me think of when a Roman asked Paul how he became a citizen and then told Paul how he did: Paul was born to it, the Roman had paid a great price. We were born into a kingdom of bondage -- and we have been bought with a great price to make us citizens of a new Kingdom!
Thanks Roymond; Now I understand how it is used.

Some people say this verse speaks about purgatory :
1Co 3:15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
Did Paul speak about purgatory with the above verse ?
Imho Paul was speaking about his work in founding and guiding the church of Corinthians, Paul was worried his work wlll be burned [wasted] as the Corinthians have carnal mind, immature, divisive like babes.
https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/1-Corinthians-Chapter-3/
If purgatory happens the crucifixion of the Lamb of God Jesus Christ for atonement of sins is for no good.
What say you.
With the limited knowledge I have I thought this meant no one that has been saved will attain perfection. Therefore All must be cleansed by fire before entering Heaven.

Ecc 9:2
All things come alike to all: there is one event to the righteous, and to the wicked; to the good and to the clean, and to the unclean; to him that sacrificeth, and to him that sacrificeth not: as is the good, so is the sinner; and he that sweareth, as he that feareth an oath.

I thinking God does not like favoritism. So why would he use it on us?

Our sister refers to a passage from 1 Corinthians 6, concerning sexual immorality:
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body. (verses 19 and 20 NASB)
Also, from 1 Peter:
If you address as Father the One who impartially judges according to each one's work, conduct yourselves with fear during the time of your stay on earth; knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ. (1 Peter 1:17-19 NASB)
We belong to the Lord. Jesus Christ purchased us with His shed blood.
Thanks I wondered about that use.

A hypothetical situation. "John" was subjected to various indignities and insults from public servants from the city and county for no reason other than he was a soft target. Later, John planted a church with a building built for holding worship services soon after. With impending local and national elections drawing near John was approached by public officials and asked it the church could be used to where people can come and vote, in other words, a polling place. Because John is a strong proponent of separation of church and state, and because of the insults suffered by public officials in the past, his mind is to tell them in so many words No. If John were to give a reason, he would say that he doesn't want any of his people to be exposed to such Machiavellian arrogance as he was. Would he be right or wrong to refuse to have his church used as requested?
In the U.S. with voting one has a chance of putting good people in those positions. Bad people seem to finds ways t keep them out.
As long as the church has a large room separate from the Sanctuary it would not bother me if the large room were used. I would refrain from using the Sanctuary. No food or drink in the room. Lots of observers.

Hi @NConly Although they can be addictive, going back for more does not necessarily indicate an addiction.
A lot of young Christian men and women seem to regard having it done as a way to express what is close to their hearts - i.e., their faith.
There is in fact such a huge and potentially rewarding scope for faith based and other wholesome tattooing - within the bounds of self-control rather than addiction - that I sometimes wonder if it would be a rewarding and good idea for more young Christians to consider a career working in a tattoo parlor. (So as a past participant in ink, what do you think?)
The four I have are all over 15 years old. And only show in a T shirt

There are water soluble christian tats ( kids or adult )also available that last a few days that some may try for fun and some would not even try them. also there are cloth sleeves that look like tats that slide onto the arm.

@NConly Some Christians are hostile to tattoos. Others from a military background or who are not ashamed to proclaim a cause in which they deeply believe regard it as an honor to be perforated with a permanent inking or inkings that reflect(s) it.
Are any of your faith or military related in design, maybe?
Increasingly in recent decades military spouses have widely and strongly desired to opt for such inkings also.
I have the Bald eagle for love of my country the other three are just personal preference that reflect something in my life.

I find the bigger the church the more goes on behind closed doors. Only a select few know; and not the congregation.
