  1. Busted it Israel has killed Mohammed Sinwar, the leader of Hamas in Gaza, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has told lawmakers, following Israeli media reports that he had been targeted in a recent airstrike on a hospital in the Strip. One of Israel's most wanted targets, Sinwar is believed to be Hamas' top military leader in Gaza. He is the brother of Yahya Sinwar, the late Hamas chief and one of the masterminds of the 7 October 2023 attack on Israel, who was killed by the IDF last year. Speaking to Israel's parliament on Wednesday, Netanyahu included Sinwar in a list of Hamas leaders killed in Israeli airstrikes. https://www.euronews.com/2025/05/28/hamas-chief-mohammed-sinwar-eliminated-by-israel-benjamin-netanyahu-says

  7. Another day in Gaza Dozens of Palestinians were killed across the Gaza Strip on Sunday in Israeli military strikes. At least 38 people died in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip in one day, according to the territory's Hamas-run health ministry's report on Sunday, as cited by the dpa news agency. The ministry said that a further 204 people were injured during the past 24 hours. The ministry added that the figures do not include victims registered in hospitals in northern Gaza because access to the area is currently too difficult. Meanwhile, Reuters reported about 23 dead, citing local health authorities. The dead included a local journalist and a senior rescue service official. https://www.dw.com/en/gaza-dozens-of-people-killed-in-israeli-strikes/a-72664320

Their celebration follows the formal easing of sanctions by the EU earlier this week and that of the US announced last week during US President Donald Trump's Middle East tour. “Yesterday, when I read the news that the Caesar sanctions are actually being lifted, especially after the reports we heard in recent weeks, I honestly cried," a resident, Zeina Shahla, told local media. "We’re finally seeing real steps toward the country’s recovery,” she added. https://www.euronews.com/my-europe/2025/05/24/syrians-hopeful-for-the-future-after-us-and-eu-sanctions-relief

  18. NO results YET Iran-US nuclear talks made some 'but not conclusive progress,' mediator Oman says Iran and the United States made "some but not conclusive progress" in the fifth round of negotiations in Rome over Tehran’s rapidly advancing nuclear programme, Oman's mediator has said. The remarks by Badr al-Busaidi suggested the negotiations between the two sides would continue. But blocking progress is Washington's demands that Iran completely stop enriching uranium, something Tehran has called a "red line" and insists its programme must continue. "The fifth round of Iran US talks have concluded today in Rome with some but not conclusive progress," al-Busaidi wrote on X. https://www.euronews.com/my-europe/2025/05/23/iran-us-nuclear-talks-made-some-but-not-conclusive-progress-mediator-oman-says

Police said that a "major operation" was taking place at Hamburg's main train station. Three of the injured were in critical condition, while three others were seriously injured, Bild and the Hamburger Morgen Post said. The suspect, police have said, is a 39-year-old woman. 22. WOW this came off my regular international news hangout US and Iran hold fifth round of nuclear talks in Rome Iranian and US negotiators have been meeting in Italy's capital Rome for a fifth round of nuclear talks after a public dispute over uranium enrichment that ended the previous round in Oman. The talks, the highest-level contact between the two countries since the US withdrew from the 2015 nuclear deal, are being mediated by Oman. Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and US special envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff are leading the delegations, according to Iran's Tasnim news agency. Since returning to office, US President Donald Trump has revived his "maximum pressure" strategy on Iran, supporting diplomacy while warning of military action if talks fail. Tehran is seeking a new agreement to ease sanctions that have severely impacted its economy. During the fourth round of talks, Witkoff stated that Washington "coul
