  1. Oh, I see. Well, he still is in the Senate.
  2. Do you believe he is a closet segregationinst?
  3. Great recipies, everyone!!! OKAY, THAT'S GET SERIOUS ABOUT PANCAKES!!!! This is a recipe for pancake mix you can prepare in batches and store, it is used witt either sweek milk or bittermilk, makes characterful pancakes, with the flavor of good grains and wiht a high-rising almost crunchy texture. Makes three batches, each sufficient for 12-14 four-inch pancakes: 1 cup rye flour 1 cup whole-wheat flour 2 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 cup yellow cornmeal, preferably stone-ground 1/3 cup sugar 2 tablespoons baking powder 2 teaspoons salt 1/2 teaspoons baking soda (I grind different grains like rice and oats or millet and make them with different flours, my juicer came with a grain-mill, boy, do I enjoy it, recommend highly to everyone, it is an easiest thing to operate and freshly ground grain is just like freshly ground coffee, I hope you will invest in one! ) Anyway, here are the directions for the mix: 1. Sift the flours, conrmeal, sugar, baking powder, salt, and soda into a bowl, using a wide-meshed sieve. With a large whisk, mix them very throughly for at least 30 seconds. 2. Measure the mix into three plastic bags or other containers, putting 1 3/4 cups into each, if any is leftover, divide between the batches. Close
  4. I thought he resigned?!
  5. Can you give the scripture reference for the story of Jonah please, I am sorry I don't know what you mean.
  6. I am a little confused, wasn't there talk about turning the other chick and that God would defend us, we just have to have enough faith???????????????????????????
  7. So if we have a right to defend our children, then we have a right to defend ourselves, because our children need us. Don't you think? But then would it mean that people without children would not have that right? Also, is it a sin to be afraid? Somehow I am preoccupied with safety and horrifed of being attacked, is it normal?
  8. Is it right to defend yourself or your children from criminal attack? And can a Christian be a police officer and defend others from criminals?
  9. I saw on the 700 Club a story about a woman who was attacked and she was praying so hard but was raped anyway, does it mean she didn't have enough faith and was afraid?
  10. "But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. "
  11. This is about the enemy, I agree that we are not to act according to the world but to take every opportunity to witness for them. What I am concerned about, is what does it mean "do not resist an evil person", what if an evil person is the man you met in a dark garage who wants to rape and kill you.
  12. I need help on interpreting the following verses, my son is bent on not to resist "an evil person" and turning the other cheek, he's been telling this to me every time I come home and complain on someone who was cruel to me, I finally asked him to find the verse in the bible and he did, I now have to figure it our once and for all: 39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. 40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also. 41 And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. 42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away. 43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. 44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? 47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? 48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. Mat 5:39
  13. Should I buy a book about common sense and read that instead of the bible?
  14. I wanted to know if as Christians we are always supposed to be obidient with authority figures, and why is so hard, is it because we are rebelious by nature. If the answer is we are supposed to obidient like Wisdom said, then I wanted to know if there a point at which we would be justify to stand up for ourselves. When I saw the different replies from CD and Wisdom, I asked for my son's opinion and was shocked to hear that he thought there was no such point, that me must not "resist an evil person" and must be obidient no matter what. When I told him that he must defend himself, he said God would defend him and if an attack was permitted, he would still have to be obidient, which made me worry and now I have to really reseach the subject before my son will let someone hurt him. Speaking like a mom.
  15. So your advise is to be obidient and never say anything no matter how cruel or dangerous the cituation is or it there a point when you try to stop a person? I am asking this because me and my son had a discussion about this thread and he remembered a verse "never resist an evil person", I said you have to defend yourself and he seemes to think you do not.
  16. I will. Thanks again.
  17. Thanks so much for explaining, this is very helpful.
  18. What should we say? Just pray to God about it?
  19. Mat 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. What does it mean to bind something?
  20. Why is it so hard being bossed aroud, being told what to do? Does it mean we are rebelious or not humble? Does wanting to be your own boss reflect our rebeliousness against God? Is it Okay to be displeased when your superiors at work behave like Gods, or should we be obidient? Does "carrying the cross" mean putting up with poor treatement?
  21. Thank you so much! That's a very good verse but it's very hard to have peace all the time, especially in turbulent times. I have to learn to keep my mind on God all the time, it's so easy to get overwhelmed with all that we have to do. It's hard sometimes.
  22. Thank you for your replies. Just want to let you know I am feeling much better. I did go to the doctor and he said it might be chemical due to so many treatements and medication I've been on and then discontinued abrubtly, but whatever the reason are spiritual or physical, God deliveres! I prayed and prayed, but God answers in due time whenever we are ready to receive the answer.
  23. The daily life is getting to me, where do you find the patience to deal with the noise and the crowds and the people on the cell phones and the slow-walkers, the heat, the foul air, I just want peace, instead I am irritable. I need help in the area of patience, what an I doing wrong, I don't remember being this way before. Sometimes I think maybe I am generally unhappy or am I just in a wrong spirit? Any verses from the bible come up? Or any thoghts? I'd appreciate any help.
  24. What is judging? It's behaving like you're better than someone. That not humility. That's pride, which is one of the worst sins.
  25. RE: HE LOVES YOU JUST THE WAY YOU ARE. If he loves the way we are why do we have to become a "new man?" I think it's a lottle misleading. He loves us no matter of what but He wants us to deny our nature and change. Did anyone hear about a play, " I love you just the way you are, Now change!"
