Could be that your pastor loves Israel..and believes it has a special part to play in the Lords plan..Ask him to explain.

I have seen on the news today, that Terri Shiavo's parents have just made another bid to have the feeding tube reinstated.....due to new evidence from a neurologist, who has confirmed that Terri is not in a vegetative state.

Cerran No argument....but that is what happened. AS I understand it,the only other thing that Terri's wishes were based on, was what she supposedly said to Michael Shaivo's family. Perhaps you would like to explain just why MS received such a large sum of money...when he knew that Terri had made a verbal living will....in his presence...and members of his family. I, along with many others, cannot even begin to comprehend how he is allowed to have any say over what happens to Terri. He has made a new life for himself....and the only way he could possibly still be considered Terri's husband...is the scrap of paper it was written on. Travesty of Justice..

Cerran, One little problem with your view..... and that is the fact that Michael Schiavo made no mention of his wifes verbally expressed living will...UNTIL, he won something in the region of $1000,000 to spend on Terri's rehabilitation. The money that was awarded to him seemed to have a remarkable effect on his powers of recall........

Nebula, Yes, there are alternative views.....thats what the thread is about. However.. ..Matthew 10 v 11-15 is not what I was talking about. If anyone of us speaks to an unbeliever about Christ, and that person receives us not, nor hears our words, there may very well be a case for shaking the dust from our feet......but alternatively, there are many Christians who were hardened to the gospel for years, before they understood the truth . It is not enough to speak to unbelievers about Christ, and then wash our hands of them when they don't respond to the gospel........ Instead we need to be involved with non christians, in friendship and love before our lives will witness to them. Seeing what Christ has done in our lives will be a far bigger witnessing tool than our words could ever be.

I have know this information about George Felos, since the time I first heard about Terri.. Michael Schaivo certainly fell on his feet when he Got Felos as his attorney... Terri's parent's have given up their bid to have the feeding tube reinstated, as Terri has now reached a point where she could not recover even if they were to succeed.......let this ordeal soon be over for Terri. What a complete travesty of justice.

How important is it, when dealing with the unbeliever, to keep our eyes fixed on Christ, and the attitude he had towards sinners. He visited their homes, ate and drank with them, opened their eyes to their own failings......and loved them and us so much, He went to the cross and died. Every one of us, was at one time an enemy of Christ... lost to the truth, walking in disobedience. Not one of us was righteous, until we turned to Christ, heard with our ears, saw with our eyes, understood with our hearts, and was converted. Yet how very easy it is once we are saved, to develop a hard, pharisaical spirit toward the unbeliever. An attitude, where unless they are immediately converted upon having their faults presented to them..and hearing the gospel...we wash our hands of them. Perhaps we all need to have a health check....which involves a test for Pharisaitis..the symptoms of which are ....Craniel swelling....atrophied heart..upturned nose...and blind spots...and if left untreated, results in complete Blindness. This sickness is usually brought about by the following things..... Thinking the Truth , is more important than love.. Looking to see how people could improve. No longer have any non Christian friends.. Thinking WE are able to convict people of their sin... Non Christians are to be avoided..after we have told them the TRUTH, and they have not responded, they are classified as scumbags. Or would our check show that we are healthy.. Seeing that love is the most important part of truth... Learning to REALLY love the sinner.. Love the lost, and so reveal Gods heart to them... Recognising that we are just forgiven scumbags... And knowing that if there is just one person whom we would not reach out to....because we disaprove of their particular sin...then we never really understood how great is the sin of which we have been forgiven.
