Thanks guys, I appriciate the help. -
A young man over on CafeChrist (a christian teen message board) has posted this in an effort to disprove the Bible as divinely inspired.

Now this is truly turning into an interesting thread! St. John, what a remarcable testimony! It is true that God desined are bodys to be far mor robust than we give it credit for, IF we take the time to learn the tools He has provided to do so. I look forward to hearing more!

For the record, I have no issue with WOF personaly. I've never herd of them till signing on to the board. Go figure. I am in 100% agrement with you on faith, as you have presented it hear. This is true. If I have done so, I most humbly apoligise. I may however, tease a bit. I supose it is possible to take things to far, or for it to be perseved as irreverent, and will try to controle myself better in the future.

My Brother!!! You are FORGIVEN!!! I also repent of any hurtfull words I may have said. Glory to God! This is what brotherhood in Christ is all about!

There is a vast difference between having a difference of oppinion and turning the House of the Lord into a den of theves. Beloved, this is a VERY poor excuse to loose your temper. Jesus was capable of getting angry and not sinning. We arn't.
-
Hmmm, and you call this the "Mind of Christ"...interesting. First of all, we have not mocked you. We have disagreed with you. When you decide to grow up you will learn the difference. As for the Testamonies thread, (I assume you are refering to the quotes apon quotes), that was just a bit of fun, and if you find it offensive, then I apolagise. Its also over. Turns out you can quote 25 times befor you start to loose the original. Who knew? That also has nothing to do with how you, as a gentlmen (and I am using the term very loosly) speek to ladys. In case your mother failes to teach you some proper maners, gentlmen DO NOT use that kind of language with or about women. Beloved, your lack of breeding is showing.

Is islam a violent religion? Well, the koran COMMANDS its followers to go out and KILL THE INFIDEL. Infidell-anyone not following Islam You decide.

Well, thank you Tex!

St. John One more thing, please apoligise to my sister. Thanks

Now this is turning into an interesting discussion. I enjoied your post, however you did not ancer my question. If God tells you that it is his desire for you to be martered, is it a lack of faith to accept it? Or, lets look at another sinario; The death of our Lord, Jesus. Was it: a) Gods will for Jesus to die on the cross, b) An attack from Satin, or c) both Would you beleve, the ancer is C, How can this be, you ask? The ancer is simple. Saten knew who Jesus was. He (Satan) was dooing everything in his power to stop Him (Jesus), and led the secular powers of the day to plot agenst him, Judas to betray Him, and the people to turn on him, leading to His crusifiction. Satin was of course overjoied! he thought he had won. 3 days later he found that he was of course gravely mistaken. As you know, Christ rose from the dead, and reveled that He was ment to die all along. In other words, God gave Satin enough rope to hang himself. Its the same deal with christian marters. They are not "random acts of violence" as you suppose, nor have they opende the door with doudt and a lack of faith. On the contrary, these people love there Lord more than life iself, and are fathfull to Him unto death. Wile it's true, they die resulting from an attack by satin, that God planed. Satin never understands that there death God uses to furthe His plan. God, in His Sovrenty, is able to weave our free will and Satins meddling, to accomplish His purposes. Of course, only one who is all powerfull, all knowing, and all present could pull that off. Next?

St. John, I challenge you to hear her testimony - then report back on this. I'll give you a hint. God had revealed to her that her life on Earth would be short (and it had nothing to do with punishment). Evidences of this could be found in her journals and in some things she shared with her friends. Edit: OK, looks like Pentecost and I posted at the same time! Children are a blessing to parents right here on this earth. God is not calling his children home, to take them away from us. He has plenty up there as it is. You are mistaking the purpose of the devil which is to steal kill and destroy, with the purpose of God which is to give life and heal. If a person is called to give up their life then that is different. God is not calling children to give up their lives at the expense of grieving parents. Why didn't he just let Abraham kill Isaac. He could have "called" Isaac home to be with Him. If Rachel wrote about having a short life, then that makes sense too. Maybe saying things like that and writing about them and believing them gives the devil the open door he needs to take your life. And it is pure supposition to say that you can see that God REVEALED to Rachel that she would have a short life, simply because she wrote about it. She was a child. St. John, Do you understand war? If a GI on to front line takes a bullet, is it because he is lacking faith? Or because he was where he was soposed to be, doing what he was soposed to do? We, as christians, are in a war my frend. Soldiers in a war zone are, by definition, beeing shot at. As are we. Now, we know that the war is already won. Unfortinatly our enemy refuses to accept his loss, and keeps fighting. Also, soldiers don't choose there battles, they follow there orders to the best of there abilitys. Rachel Scott was such a soldier. Now, if God told her she would be blessed with a short life, for the furtherence of the gospel, and she accepts that and solders on, is she lacking faith? Or walking in it! If God tells me that I am to be blessed with marterdom if I continue to serve Him, am I lacking faith? I defanitly disagree. I am a street evangilist. I take Jesus to places where to church fears to tread. To the streets and allies. To the homeless and poor. To drunks and dealers, adicts and pushers, prostitutes and pimps. To those in wichcraft, the occolt, and satanism. Is it any surprise that i get shot at? Is it any surprise that i sometimes get hit? No. Does that mean I don't have faith? Again, no. If I didn't, I certinly would not be doing what I do. I am sory my broother, bur God never promiced any of us an easy life. He promises that the triles we hace will "refine us as gold in the fire". He promises that we will face nothing alone. That He will "mesure" our triles thet "we will not face more than we are able..." That our triles will be used by Him to further the gospel, and increse our faith. Sometimes He alowes us to dodge the bullet, somtimes he expects us to take it. Some of the greatest moments in my ministry have been wile taking the bullet. For when I am weekened, God is made strong. In many ways I look forward to the triles, in whatever form. I don't enjou them per say, but I do look forward to seeing hoe He will use my weakness for His greater glory. I look forward to your reply.

I'm sory my brother, but I must disagree with you on this point. Marterdom, though not given to many, IS Gods will, AND His HIGHEST calling to us. Hear me out... Why would a loving God call anyone to die? Well, how loving is it for a father to welcome his child home? Remember, Jesus is our example in all things, and as you know. Jesus died for us. After all there is no greater love than this, that a man lay down his life for a frend" Death is part of the foundation of our faith. When we are born again, our old self must die. We strive to "die dayly", "take up your cross dayly", even babtism is a symbolic death. There is a story about the apostle Peter. He was in Rome, and got word that they were going to kill him the next day. He did the sensable thing, and ran. On his way out of town, he passed Jesus on his way in. He stoped the Lord, and asked why He was going into Rome, and the Lord responded He was going to die again. Peter repented, returned, and was blessed with marterdom. Regarding Rachel Scott. You realy should read her story. The Lord reveled to her at a very young age that serving him would cost her her life. Her actions, and her thoughts recorded in her jurnel, make it very clear. She knew she would not live past high-school. And yet she pursued our Lord with a purity and a passion that I hope won day to attain. It was the overriding passion of her life. Why would it be Gods will? You must look at the frute. In the years that have followed, her example hs sparked THOUSANDS of youth to receve the Lord, or to draw closer to him. In short, it has sparked a REVIVLE! There are far to many other stories for me to share hear, but they all show that marterdom is one of the "signs and wonders" that will follow to display Gods sovrenty. Be blessed my brother!

What's everybody reading right now?
Pentecost replied to Work in Progress's topic in General Discussion
At the moment I am re-reading the Lord of the Rings. I red the series waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in middle school, and thought it was time for a refresher. Also Wild at Heart, and The pourpose driven life. -
YES JESUS "SAW" long life---HE was raised from the dead, never to die again--"eternal life" is "long" life--GOD SHOWED JESUS HIS SALVATION BY RAISING HIM FROM THJE DEAD Because JESUS SET HIS LOVE ON THE FATHER, GOD DELIVERED HIM FROM OR THRU DEATH HE SHALL CALL UPON ME,{MY GOD MY GOD WHY HAST THOU FORSAKEN ME} JESUS CALLED UPON THE FATHER & GOD DELIVERED HIM {from or thru death}to eternal life.... WITH LONG{eternal} LIFE WILL I SATISFY HIM & SHEW HIM MY SALVATION.... Is not salvation{salvation from or thru death??} some will not see death but will be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye--Those of us that are "alive" & remain{1st..thess.4.vss.16.17} I am sorry if I make you want to give up but the scripture on long life is a promise to all. And it is talking about long life on this earth. It did not say eternal life it said long life. Long life and eternal life are not the same. Long, has time attached to it and eternal does not. Proverbs 3 16 Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour. Same hebrew words used for length of days in the verse above as in 'with long life, I will satisfy him'. So the verse could read 'with length of days I will satisfy him'. So, correct me if I'm wrong, but you are implying that EVERYONE that dies young is lacking faith.
