  1. I can see that it is your intent to do nothing but argue. I made a suggestion and you twisted it and made it something you could argue against. You call yourselves christians. How can you do that and still harbor so much hatered for your fellow man. You may believe there is one God but as for loving your neighbor as yourself, you fall short. We are to love all.....not just those who agree with us.
  2. Why don't you run tv commercials. The anti-smoking people do. Instead of explaining an abortion, show them. Show them the tiny hands and feet. The whole time the heartbeat of a unborn child is playing in the background. Show them an ultrasound of that beating heart. Explain how a baby is ripped apart during an abortion. You don't have to get graphic, their imagination will do that for them. Show them that the thing inside them is in fact human. I don't support abortion but I do support freedom of choice. Fifty years ago the word abortion could only be heard in whispers. Today, making an appointment for an abortion is as easy as making an appointment to get a haircut. We don't need more laws. It's against the law to speed while driving but most of us do it. There's a law against selling drugs but people still do it. There's a law against bank robbery, yet people still continue to do it. Laws are made for those people who will abide by that law. The public needs to be educated not talked down too. If you make abortion illegal do you really believe they will stop? You start messing with people's freedom of choice and before you know it, some of the freedoms you enjoy just might be taken away. I don't know....that's my take on this issue. Abortion is the work of the devil. The laws of man carry no weight in his realm. Y'all have a nice day.
  3. Interesting.
  4. I agree with that, but it is far better to be aggressively going after the enemy rather than sitting back and playing defense all the time. Thanks to the war on terror, there are hundreds of terrorists being held prisoner rather than plotting their next strike. Regardless what the propagandists say, we are safer with the current policies than we would be simply treating terrorism as a police matter. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree.
  5. As you wish. You have your walk, I have mine.
  6. When I look at other bibles ( I read King James and NKJ ) I turn to John 3:16. That passage tells me how much that version is watered down. Most of them are, in one way or another.
  7. So much anger. And over something that is completely out of our hands. Abortion is never going to go away. I don't believe it's right but who am I to tell someone else what to do with their body? I can't speak for all but I'm sure some of those women are an emotional wreck and having someone calling them murderers isn't helping the situation. A friend of mine many years ago was expecting a child. A little into the pregancy it was discovered the baby had no head. There was a heartbeat which meant the baby was alive. Everything was normal except for the head was missing. They decided to abort. Was that murder? Or compassion? When you accuse someone of being a murderer, you are judging them. We were not appointed to be judges. We are suppose to be living examples of Christ. Do you think Christ would stand outside these clinics and scream down at these women? These people made a choice and in the end they will have to give an answer for that choice. Not us. I think I'm safe in saying that not all of these women are christians. What do think their attitude is about God once they leave that clinic? The message of God is love. Is that the message we give them when we call them murderers? I'm thinking no. I believe there's a passage that goes something like this, "He who is without sin, cast the first stone". You all take it easy...and as always... In His name.
  8. If the news articles are correct then you are in the wrong. If a cop tells you to stop doing something you should stop what you are doing. He is after all an officer of the law and we as christians are subject to those laws. Standing in the street and yelling at cars doesn't sound like a quiet bible study to me. But that's just me.
  9. How do you defeat an enemy you can not see? How do you protect yourself and others against an enemy who are willing to use themselves as human bombs? No, I think this war is going to last a very long time.
  10. Just type in "soft tissue/dinosaur" or "latest scientific discoveries" on any search engine. You'll have 100s of 1,000s of websites to choose from. Every major news organization including the BBC covered these stories about the tissue that was found. Type in "Mary Schweitzer". She's the one how made the discovery. Anyway, I think I'm done here. It's been real. In His name.
  11. Your information was interesting. But as far as being proof, it falls short. Here's why. The oldest skull in that collection was 3.3 million years old. The next oldest was 2.6 million years old. 700,000 years separate the two. The youngest skull was said to be 30,000 years old. 15,000 years separates the youngest from the second youngest. Does evolution speed up as the years pass? If that is the case, we should look different than the skull that is 30,000 years old. Two skulls said to be 2.5 million years old look totally different from one another. Which one of those two belong to man? Two other skulls said to be 1.8 million years look nothing alike. I'm seeing giant holes in your theory. Or fact as you like to call it. Did the evolution of man only start 3.3 million years ago? Why does man's evoultionary trail only go back 3.3 million years? I've seen fossils dating back as far as 380 million years. Full body skeletons of 3 inch creatures in stunning detail. A full body skeleton of a dinosaur that is only 5 inches long and said to be 130 million years old. How do explain these things? They can find a 3 inch fossil in beautiful detail that is 380 million years old but can't find a full body skeleton of our ancestor's that are only a few million years old. I've seen fossils of ferns. Surely mans bone's are more rugged then that. How do you explain soft pliable tissue in things that have dead for 70 million years? Shouldn't they have fossilized? I'm glad you pushed me into this little expedition. It's been quite the eye opener. I won't go any further. It would only be insulting you and that is not my intention. As for fenwar, why do you hide behind the scriptures? If you do not believe we were created by God, come right out and say it. By trying to convince us that evolution is plausible, you are doing the work of the devil. The passage that says "you can not serve two masters" is not just about money. Think about it. That's about all I have. If you feel the need to call me names, it's ok I understand. Halifax be patient, I'm working on it. Maybe tonight. Again as always...In His name.
  12. Bible banger is another one. They both mean the same. When someone calls me a bible banger, to me it means they see God when they look at me. And to me that's a good thing. I just smile and thank them for noticing. When someone calls you a Jesus freak, just ask them "who's freak are you?" In His name
  13. Maybe you need to take a break from these boards. Not everyone here is a christian. I looked at your profile. You spend a lot of time here. Is Worthy the only board you visit? I know if I'm here too long, I start getting arrogant. I get a "I know more then you" attitude. I'm getting close to my limit now. I catch myself thinking things that shouldn't thought. That's not good. Are your parents christians? If they're not, that could also be part of the problem. Read your bible. If you're sick of reading the bible, ( that does happen ) read Proverbs. You don't have to read it all in one sitting. You don't even have to start at the beginning. Read a chapter or just a few verses, put it down and come back to it later. There's a lot of things in that book that everyone can relate too. I know when I find myself drifting, I go to Proverbs. Prayer. Find a nice quiet spot and talk to the Lord. Tell Him what you're feeling. Admit to Him that you can't do it on your own. Ask Him to lead you in the right direction. Tell Him to take away all thoses negitive feelings and thoughts that you have. You might want to cut back on some of the music you listen to. Believe it or not, it does influence us. The same thing with video games. Think about what you're going to do and say before you do it. You might even have to separate yourself from some of your friends for awhile. Not forever, just for awhile. I've done all of the above and it works for me. Did it make me a super christian? No. But it did bring me alittle closer to God. I'm starting to babble....sorry. These are only suggestions. None of it is etched in stone. You take easy...everything will work out ok. Let God handle this. He's always more than willing to lend a helping hand. I think that's something most people forget. Anyway, as always. In His name.
  14. http://members.aol.com/darwinpage/hominid.htm#Transitionals You mean like these? That's a shame, because that misses out a lot of evidence for common ancestry of man and apes - like endogenous retroviral insertions, for example: http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/comdesc/se...ml#retroviruses <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks for the info. It'll take me awhile to absorb it all. I'm a slow reader. But I'll be back.....someday In His name.
  15. The length of Christ's hair has nothing to do with the gift He gave to us. However, ask yourself why Paul felt a need to include this in his teaching's to the Corinthians? What do you suppose Paul is trying to get across to us? It is my belief that there are no empty words or verses in the bible. There's a reason for everything that is written. If there wasn't, it wouldn't be there. Those are just my belief's. Anyway, Y'all have a good one. In His name
  16. Gerioke Were the mistakes that Paul made, mistakes concerning his teaching of the gospel? Did he say that some of his information was wrong and that we should ignore what he said? Paul taught that women should cover their heads as a sign of respect for their heads. He didn't say they should put something on their heads to cover them. The covering he spoke of is a woman's long hair. He also stated that it is a shame for a man to have long hair. He knew there was going to be a problem with these teachings so in verse 16 he went on to say that the churches of God held no such customs. ( long or short hair is not a sin ) You hinted that because some people don't follow certain teaching's of the bible, it's ok for us to ignore them too. Be careful what you say on these boards. There are many new christians here. If one dropped in and read what you wrote and then left and practiced what he/she believed to be the truth, where would you be in the eyes of God? The issue isn't about long hair being a sin. Those first 16 verses of 1 Corinthians 11 hold a deeper meaning. I explained it once on this board and you all laughed at me. I see a lot of conflict about the "law". The simplicity of Christ is confusing to the educated mind. As always...In His name.
  17. Ok...no more splitting hairs over word definitions. If evolution is a long drawn out process, taking millions of years to unfold, where is your physical evidence that proves man was a part of this process? I'm not talking about lab experiments. I'm talking about cold hard facts. Fossil evidence that supports your theory. Where is the fossil evidence of man in these different stages of evolution? A square peg will not fit in a round hole, but if you keep shaving off the corners it will eventually fall into place. And let's stop with the insults. It's really not helping your cause.
  18. Ever heard of all saints day? If we didn't have christian holidays to counter the pagan holidays, we would have a hard time explaining to our kids why pagans are allowed to have more fun. Let the kids be kids. They don't give a diddley about pagan nonsense. It sounds like some of you have forgotten what it's like to be a kid. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I wasn't talking about nov. 1st. Don't avoid the question with a question.
  19. Look here...nothing is being proved here, on my side or your's. I can't prove to you that God exists. You can't see Him or reach out and touch Him. To the scientific mind, an invisible entity is not logical. You can't prove to me that evolution is fact. Unless you can show me beyond a shadow of a doubt that we evolved from lower life forms, your theories are just that, theories. An educated guess. If this means you win the argument, so be it. I can live with that. If you want to talk down to me and insult my inteligence. I can live with that too. I'm getting used to that on these boards. All we're doing is running in place. Your beliefs require tangible evidence. My beliefs require faith. We can go back and forth all day long but in the end the results are the same. I put my trust in the Lord, you put your trust in science. These are individual choices that we have made for ourselves. I have no right to slam your beliefs, your have no right to slam mine. We're both adults, let's act like it. So with that I will take my leave. I truly hope you find what you're looking for. As for me...you know the answer to that one. You have a nice day. As always....In His name.
  20. If they moved christmas from dec. 25 to oct. 31 would you all still celebrate? Not picking a fight...just wondering.
  21. I thought we were talking about Paul? You said he made up rules. If you believe he did, please explain why you believe this. If you believe he didn't, please explain why you made that statement. I'm not looking for a fight. I just want to be informed. If there's something I missed, I would really like to know. Later
  22. Go back and read your first post. From your very first statement right down to the last. You did nothing but sling mud. But that's ok. It doesn't matter. You didn't read this thread did you? If you did you have found that you're not alone in your belief's. Neandertal man is your proof? Out of hundreds of millions of years of evolution, they could only find one humanlike skeleton? Out of the thousands of fossils and bones they dug up they could only find one manlike thing? And before I forget, there's a post on this thread from someone called "scientific atheist". He gives the scientific definition for "theory". Read what he wrote then read my response. I really don't want to repeat myself. You see, I'm so uneducated that it's hard for me to type. I'm not attacking you guys. You're the ones that are doing all the mud slinging and name calling. I put out a fact, you can't disprove it, so you call me names. I'm ok with that. It just makes my side of the argument stronger. I mean do you guys do this everywhere? Call people names because they don't agree with you? If that what intelligence does to a person, I'm glad to be an idiot. Go back and read this thread and if there are some things you would like to discuss with me, I am willing. If you don't come back, I'll know why. Or you could come back and call me some more names and then run away. Either way I'm ok with it. Later
  23. Yes it does matter. If it didn't matter why would Paul even bring it up? Why would he say it's a dishonor for a man to have long hair and then turn around and say it's ok? I started a thread about this a few months ago. Total chaos. It went nowhere and everywhere. The only thing that thread accomplished was a lot of name calling and mud slinging. I will not go there again. If you want to know the reasons for my belief's, drop my an email. If not...that's ok too. Anyway...just thought I'd throw this out there. As always...In His name. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, if its sinful for a man to have womanly long hair, then the Sinless One wouldn't have had hair too long, n'est ce pas? Seems pretty obvious to me...I'm sure his hair was perfectly acceptable for a man. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> At what point did "womanly" long hair become womanly? Nazarites did not cut their hair at all. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I will ask you again, Why would Paul mention this if the churches of God held no such custom? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Maybe Paul was bald and envied people with any hair at all. Men in the OT made up a lot of their own rules. Don't you think the NT men were just as imperfect? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So what you're saying is that Paul was just pulling stuff out of the air. Writing just for the sake of writing, making it up as he goes. Interesting. Who's your teacher?
  24. Another highly intelligent individual...welcome to the swamp. I have to get this off my chest, it's killing me. You said..." If there were holes it would not be a theory." A word of advice...before you jump, you should know what you're jumping into. Look up the word theory in your dictionary. But I suppose you're so smart you don't need one. Better yet, read my post's for this thread. If you would like to go a round or two after that, I'm more then willing. Read the rest of this thread first, then we'll talk. I don't think the evolutionists would want you speaking for them, but I could be wrong. It's happened a couple of times before. Anyway...talk to you later
