Did you know that the word "Bible" is not "in the Bible"? Did you know that the word "omniscient" is not in the Bible? Therefore, there is no "the Bible", and therefore, the LORD God is not omniscient. John "sarcasm" Whalen

Perhaps you could look at this evidence and respond to it for me then.... Now let us look at the grammatical use of the phrase "I am" by Jesus and by God and see if that supports the assertion that Jesus is employing the divine name. First, Exodus 3:13-14: ...and they ask me, 'What is his name?' what shall I say to them? God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM." And he said, "Say this to the people of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.' " We see the way God uses the phrase "I AM" is consistent with someone identifying themselves with a name. For instance, if someone were to ask me my name, I would reply "I am Kyle". That person who asked me my name could go tell someone "Kyle has sent me to you". Both of these phrases make perfect sense. Now lets look at how Jesus uses the phrase "I am" grammatically.Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am." Let us do the same thing, and sub in my name, Kyle. "Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, Kyle." As we can see, grammatically this does not line up with how God used the phrase in Exodus. If Jesus were drawing a direct connection to the divine name as revealed in Exodus 3:14, he would have needed to use the name in a similar way; in a way that made sense grammatically. This though, he did not do. Nonsense-You "spin" more than the Roman Catholic Church amd Mormons. The Lord Jesus Christ, in 5th grade grammar, identified Himself as the great "I am" of the OT. You cannot see it, just as you cannot see that He identified Himself as "The Alpa and the Omega". You are spiritually blind. You cannot see the "I am's" of John. You will one day acknowledge that He is Lord=master, ruler, owner=deity. Any Jew who heard His "I am" statements knew He was claiming to be God. Your denial does not change this fact. Again, Ksalzar,You have been told. Therefore, as it is written: "A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject" Titus 3:10 In Christ, John Whalen

To Ksalzar: QUOTE Please review the numerous "the angel of the LORD" passages, which clearly points to the LORD(God the Father) and the "angel of the LORD" as distinct, separate "persons", and yet the angel of the LORD, which is the pre-incarnated person of the Lord Jesus Christ(as is the Joshua 5 passage-"captain of the LORD's host"), is also declared as diety. Example: You say: So everyone an angel represents God in the Old Testament and people see him in the form of a man I am to conclude it is the pre-incarnate Christ? Perhaps you could give me support for this claim, as it is I see no reason to not see that this is an angel who is in the form of man. Furthermore there are many instances where angels are "worshiped" in the Old Testament, unless you are willing to conclude that everyone of these instances is Jesus in disguise(which would be hard considering there are more than one angels on some occassions), this point will not stand. My comment: I never said that. You are reading what you want to read re. your false doctrine. I will support this claim, that the angel of the LORD and God the Father are distinct "persons", and both are God. If you cannot understand this, if you cannot "see"(your words)this, do not confuse your lack of spiritual understanding, of "seeing", this truth with what is in fact the truth.. This is one of many examples: Gen 22:1-"God did tempt Abraham" Gen. 22: "And he said

You obviously know nothing of me or my relationship with God, making the statement "you do not believe God is just". I do not appreciate any of these comments. I wonder if you would say these things to me if we were to talk face to face. What is it we are supposed to do? Build each other up speaking words seasoned with salt, graceful. Why would you even make personal attacks like that? Prove yourself biblicaly and let me learn. Personal attacks only tear down, they do not edify. Ugh, good night for now." ________________ You fail to distinguish between tolerance for people vs. tolerance of doctrine. We are to tolerate people, but we are not to tolerate false doctrine. "All mushrooms are not good"-some mushrooms are poisonous. I will continue to call people like yourself that deny that the Lord Jesus Christ is God. You fail to distinguish attacks on what you say from your person. The Lord Jesus Christ was the best preacher that ever lived, and you apparently have not read His scathing words to those that promote false doctrine. Funny, people seem to make judgements about life/death matters in the physical world, but not the spiritual. If I said it is OK for children to smoke pot, and someone corrected me on this, should I feel that person was making personal attacks on me? Should I say "You are not building me up(edifying)?" Should I say "Please speak words seasoned with salt?" NONSENSE. Those who say it is OK for children to smoke pot should be rebuked sharply! And I will rebuke sharply people like yourself who deny that the Lord Jesus Christ is God. If this hurts your feelings, so be it; I am to be approved of God(2 Tim. 2:15), and not a "man pleaser". My reputation is not important to me, and more importantly, it is not important to the The LORD GOD. I am to be faithful, not necessarily successful, in proclaiming that Jesus Christ is Emmanuel-"GOD WITH US". The Lord Jesus Christ is God, and some day you will acknowledge it. My charge is to tell you this truth now-it will do you no good after you have died. If you feel this is a "personal attack", then you have an unbiblical view of discernment of the truth from error. I love people enough to tell them the truth, whether they want to hear it or not. When you are ill, you do not need a placebo and words such as "You will be OK". You need a remedy for the sickness. I would say this to an angel from heaven face to face if he denies that Jesus Christ is God(Galatians Chapter 1). I will say no more on the subject. You say "Prove yourself biblicaly" You have been shown that Jesus Christ is God, and I have shown you the Saviour's own words. So, you have no choice-He is either God or He is a liar. I know that He is God. In Christ, John Whalen

Only God is without sin, this is your claim. What about children who die during birth, are they without sin? They have not sinned yet. What about Adam before the fall, he was without sin. He was not God. You show your lack of understanding of what sin is, and you refuse to understand that the LORD God was showing you "through a type" that the redeemer must be God=WITHOUT BLEMISH. Sin is not wrong doing, it is wrong being. Adam was innocent, but He was He did not have the rigtheousness of God. Children, in your example here, are considered innocent, having no knowledge of the difference between good and evil(nor did Adam and Eve prior to the fall). I showed you the requirements of the redeemer after the fall-you can deny it, but your denial in no way does affects the truth. You ask "What about" hypos, showing that you do not believe God is just as Genesis 18:25 says. Forget about the "hypos", and hear the Lord Jesus Christ's own testimony that He was God: "Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM(emphasis mine)". Jn. 8:58 "And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you". Ex. 3:14 No "spin" here, sir. The Lord Jesus Christ, in no uncertain terms, in "5th grade English", says He is God. Any Jew who heard this knew exactly what He was claiming. If you say He did not claim He was God, you are a liar. This is not an accusation, but the truth. The truth only hurts when you do not tell it. The clear testimony of testimony is that Jesus Christ is God-you will someday, as will everone, either by force or voluntarily, acknowledge this, all to the glory of God the Father. This is the meaning of Lord in Philippians 2:11-it is quoting Is. 45:21-23 in reference to LORD=God, and Romans 14:11. "I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I AM(emphasis mine) he, ye shall die in your sins." Great post! And look at this verse closer. Hosea 1 7 Yet I will show love to the house of Judah; and I will save them-not by bow, sword or battle, or by horses and horsemen, but by the LORD their God." God said He will save them by Jehovah their God! And the LORD GOD did save them, by raising his appointed savior, a man Jesus Christ from the dead. LORD GOD appointed Jesus, a man, as our high priest and seated Jesus at His right hand. 5th grade English-2 distinct persons.
  8. ServingHim writes: "YOU say the Bible is the ALL Truth...yet why does the Bible itself say in 1Timothy 3:15 that 'the CHURCH is the pillar and the foundation of truth'?" _________________ My comment: I have made a decision to limit my comments to any group that teaches a perverted gospel, like the RCC, to only 1.the presentation of the gospel of Christ as summarized in 1 Cor. 15:1-4, "for it is the power of God unto salvation to eveyone that believeth"(Romans 1:16), and/or 2. simple misstatements that even "a two year could figure out". Accordingly, The Holy Bible says that the Church is "the pillar and ground of truth", but NOT THE SOURCE OF TRUTH. 1 Tim. 3:15 is saying, in "5th grade English", that the church, which is PEOPLE, "the called out ones", not some hierarchy like the RCC, SUPPORTS the truth(that is what a pillar does). The word of God is the source of truth: " Thy word is true from the beginning..." Psalms 119:160 "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth." Jn 17:17 "...the scripture of truth...." Ksalzar writes: "Jesus was all this, but notice there is nothing thus far about Jesus having to be God to be the ransom. From the beginning on the Bible does not make such a statement about the sacrifice required by God." ______________ Repetiton is key to learning- WITHOUT BLEMISH(Exodus 12:5)=WITHOUT SIN(Hebrews 4:15) -the whole point of "without blemish" is to convey that the redeemer must be God. Remember the The "kinsman redeemer" concept- this explains the why-the redeemer must be both God and man. In Genesis, "The Seed Plot of the Holy Bible", we have the "beginning" of 7(representing completion, perfection) promises/requirements of this redeemer. The redeemer would: 1.be from the human race-Gen. 3:15=seed of a woman(and virgin birth-only a male has a seed) 2. be from a certain section of the human race-Gen. 9:26=Shem 3. be from a certain nation of that section-Gen. 12:1-3=Hebrew 4. be from a certain tribe of that Hebrew nation-Gen. 49:10=Judah 5. be from a certain family of that tribe-2 Sam. 7:16=David 6. be of a certain member of that family-Is. 7:14=Mary 7. be from a certain village belonging to that family member-Micah 5:2-Bethlehem Ephratah(which means "house of bread/fruitful, grow, increase") According to the Old Testament laws regarding punishment and retribution for a crime(sin), when one was assaulted, robbed, murdered...., the responsibility to bring the criminal to justice and to protect the lives/property of the relatives fell to the nearest "kinsman". This responsibility/obligation was referred to as "redeeming", and the man who had this role was called a "redeemer"('goel' in Hebrew). Thus, the LORD God would use this object lesson to teach that redemption(to buy back/release for the purpose of setting free) is provided by a kinsman redeemer. The kinsman redeemer is someone who is qualified to execute the law of redemption-he is qualified to pay the price of debt. This kinsman redeemer of the Old Testament was a "type" of the Lord Jesus Christ as the Redeemer. There were 4 requirements for redemption: 1. Redeemer must be a near kinsman(Lev. 25:25-"...any of his kin....). The Lord Jesus Christ became a MAN, taking on human form. Thus, "...THE MAN CHRIST JESUS(emphasis mine)....." 2 Tim. 2:5 "And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood A MAN(emphasis mine) over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries? And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did WORSHIP(emphasis mine), and said unto him, What saith my Lord unto his servant? And the captain of the LORD's host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so." Joshua 5:13-15 "I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire." Daniel 7:9 "Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain MAN(emphasis mine) clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz: His body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude." Daniel 10:5,6 "And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters." Rev. 1:13-15 This is "the Alpha and the Omega"=GOD and MAN, none other than the Lord Jesus Christ. "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Romans 10:9 This is Paul's argument-"the Lord Jesus"= You must acknowledge Him as Lord=Deity=God. Eventually, all will do this(including Satan and "his gang", and the unsaved), all will acknowledge that He is God(whether willingly, or by force, I am uncertain), as it is written: "That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Philippians 2:10,11 2.Redeemer must be able to redeem-must be able to pay the whole price of redemption by yourself. The satisfactory price was the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ(Acts 20:28, 1 Peter 1:18,19, Romans 3:24,25..............). 3.The redeemer must not be compromised by his predicament, i.e., the redeemer must be free from that which caused the need for redemption. Thus, the redeemer could not redeem himself. NO SLAVE, for example, COULD REDEEM ANOTHER SLAVE. A person in bondage was in no position to redeem another. This explains the virgin conception. This REQUIRES that the redeemer be God. The Lord Jesus Christ "...knew no sin...."(2 Cor. 5:21-see also 1 John 3:5, 1 Peter 2:22, Hebrews 4:15, John 8:46, Exodus 12:5="YOUR LAMB SHALL BE WITHOUT BLEMISH(emphasis mine)". Only God fits this REQUIREMENT. 4. The redeemer must be willing-must be voluntary: *"If his offering be a burnt sacrifice of the herd, let him offer a male without blemish: he shall offer it of his own voluntary will at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD." Leviticus 1:3 * Genesis 22:6 "...they went both of them together..... A "picture"/type of God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ voluntarily walking together. And notice in the Genesis 22 account that Isaac, as a type of Christ, was old enough to carry wood(a picture of the cross) up the mountain. This infers that he was probably at least in his teen years, maybe older. It would have been very unlikely that Abraham, in his advanced years, could have "forced" Isaac onto the altar. Thus, Isaac voluntarily, in faith, offered himself as the sacrifice, just as the Lord Jesus Christ did, as it is written: "No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father." John 10:18 "How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit OFFERED HIMSELF(emphasis mine)f without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?" Hebrews 9:14 Please review the numerous "the angel of the LORD" passages, which clearly points to the LORD(God the Father) and the "angel of the LORD" as distinct, separate "persons", and yet the angel of the LORD, which is the pre-incarnated person of the Lord Jesus Christ(as is the Joshua 5 passage-"captain of the LORD's host"), is also declared as diety. Example: "And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman..." Judges 13:3 "Then the woman came and told her husband, saying, A MAN(emphasis mine) of God came unto me, and his countenance was like the countenance of an angel of God, very terrible: but I asked him not whence he was, neither told he me his name..." Judges 13:6 "For it came to pass, when the flame went up toward heaven from off the altar, that the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame of the altar. And Manoah and his wife looked on it, and FELL ON THEIR FACES TO THE GROUND(emphasis mine). But the angel of the LORD did no more appear to Manoah and to his wife. Then Manoah knew that he was an angel of the LORD.22 And Manoah said unto his wife, We shall surely die, BECAUSE WE HAVE SEEN GOD(emphasis mine)." Judges 13: 20-22

  12. Interestingly enough, both EWTN and TBN now run the late RCC Bishop Sheen's "sermons". The groundwork for the ultimate realization of Genesis Chapter 11 is being laid-unity at the expense of sound doctrine, and the exaltation of man("they"/"us"/"they"/"they"/"they"/"they"/"us"/"us"/"we" in verses 3-4), and foreshadowing the appearance of the "ultimate man"(666), the anti-Christ, instead of the LORD- "...let US(emphasis mine)make us a name...."(11:4), instead of the LORD God-notice 12:2: "And I(emphasis mine-the LORD)will ....make thy name great...." 15. My preacher friend sent this to me. Regardless of your age, I feel that there is wisdom in this message. I disagree with the statement "who have had the luck", since scripturally there is no such concept as luck. Additionally, I am not too sure the conclusion "People under 30 are WIMPS !" best conveys the intent/"spirit" of the message. However, the message well sums up the "whatever happened to the old days" sentiment, and perhaps why I talk about "The Andy Griffith Show"often! ________________________________________________________________________ People over 35 should be dead. Here's why .......... According to today's regulators and bureaucrats, those of us who were kids in the 40's, 50's, 60's, or even maybe the early 70's probably shouldn't have survived. Our baby cribs were covered with bright colored lead-based paint. We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets, ... and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets. (Not to mention the risks we took hitchhiking.) As children, we would ride in cars with no seatbelts or air bags. Riding in the back of a pickup truck on a warm day was always a special treat. We drank water from the garden hose and not from a bottle. Horrors! We ate cupcakes, bread and butter, and drank soda pop with sugar in it, but we were never overweight because we were always outside playing. We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle, and no one actually died from this. We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then rode down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem. We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the street lights came on. No one was able to reach us all day. NO CELL PHONES!!!!! Unthinkable! We did not have Playstations, Nintendo 64, X-Boxes, no video games at all, no 99 channels on cable, video tape movies, surround sound, personal cell phones, personal computers, or Internet chat rooms. We had friends! We went outside and found them. We played dodge ball, and sometimes, the ball would really hurt. We fell out of trees, got cut and broke bones and teeth, and there were no lawsuits from these accidents. They were accidents. No one was to blame but us. Remember accidents? We had fights and punched each other and got black and blue and learned to get over it. We made up games with sticks and tennis balls and ate worms, and although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes, nor did the worms live inside us forever. We rode bikes or walked to a friend's home and knocked on the door, or rang the bell or just walked in and talked to them. Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Some students weren't as smart as others, so they failed a grade and were held back to repeat the same grade. Horrors! Tests were not adjusted for any reason. Our actions were our own. Consequences were expected. The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke a law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law. Imagine that! This generation has produced some of the best risk-takers and problem solvers and inventors, ever. The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas. We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned how to deal with it all. And you're one of them! Congratulations! Please pass this on to others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before lawyers and government regulated our lives, for our own good !!!!! People under 30 are WIMPS! ______________________________________________ In Christ and with Christ, John Whalen
  16. S Atheist writes: "A Christian is someone who believes that man was created by God in his image, that he fell into sin through disobedience of God, that God made a series of covenants with the Israelites (through leaders and prophets such as Moses) who agreed carried his word and obey his commandments. They believe that the final covenant is fulfilled in Jesus, the son of God, a perfect, sinless sacrifice atoning for mankind's wrongdoing through his voluntary crucifixion and suffering at Calvary on the cross. They believe that Jesus was resurrected, and ascended to heavan to be at the right hand of his father, but that he will return to judge us for our sins in the last days. This, I think, is what a Christian is. Agreed, or am I wrong?" ______________________________ Just 1 comment: The Christian believes that 1 Cor. 15:1-4=the gospel of Christ. You left out the "heart" of Christianity: "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ DIED FOR OUR SINS(emphasis mine) according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures..." 1 Cor. 15:1-4: You say "that he fell into sin through disobedience of God". Man's problem is much more serious than this. The result of this "disobedience, this "rebellion", this desire for "indepence" from God-Man has a problem-"The wages of sin is death". Man was created perfect, but died spiritually in the garden-what man lost was the Spirit of God- he died. And death is not "normal"-man was not created to die-man needs LIFE. Without the literal creation account, there is no foundation for the "good news". In Romans we read that 'sin entered the world through one man, and through sin - death, and thus death has spread through the whole human race, and the entire creation(Romans 8:22), because everyone has sinned in and we are all declared "guilty" by God, we are all "dead in trespasses and sins"-Romans 5:12, Eph. 2:1. The purpose of the Lord Jesus Christ's death, burial, and resurrection is predicated on the literal existence of Adam, as the Lord Jesus Christ testified to, and the forbidden fruit he and Eve ate. Without the "sin issue", who needs to be redeemed? Without Adam's "fall", and subsequent death,, what purpose is there to Christianity? None. Evolution means a development from one form to the next to meet the ever-changing challenges from an ever-changing nature. There is no fall from a previous state of sublime perfection. Without Adam, without the sin, the Lord Jesus Christ is reduced to a man with a mission to "save"(to rescue, deliver from a danger)from what? Nothing. To die "for"(Substitutionary atonement) what? Nothing. No, Christ was not merely a man with a mission to "be an example". Man needs a Saviour, and the Lord Jesus Christ is the Saviour. Man therefore needs a Savior and the first promise and prophecy of that was Genesis, "The Seed Plot" of the Holy Bible. Gen3:15-:"her seed". But here we have the 'seed of the woman' (offspring of the woman); a child would be born, a virgin-born Son of God, 'seed of the Woman', to be our Savior. So man was created, has fallen, and needs a Savior. Now, when man fell, it wasn't just a moral fall (it was that), it wasn't just a spiritual fall (it was that), it wasn't just an emotional fall (it was that), but it was also an intellectual fall. The total man fell. Instead of being spiritually in tune with our Creator, man is now spiritually dead, uninterested in spiritual things. Instead of being excited, and at peace with God, man is emotionally estranged from God, afraid of God, and angry at Him. Instead of normally wanting to do what is right, man now tends is to do what is wrong; Man fell morally-he must "work at being good". Children do not have to be trained to be bad-they do that quite well "naturally". Man also fell intellectually. Instead of using the Creator's Word as our test of truth, our natural tendency now is to use our own opinions, the opinions of rebellious, fallen man-"...every man did that which was right in his own eyes"(Judges 21:25)-the total man fell. In Christ, John Whalen

  18. A couple of points to consider: Gen. 3:17: "...for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die." Gen. 3:6: "...and he did eat." Gen. 5:3: "And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years..." Thus, Adam died spiritually on the day that he "did eat"-He lost the Spirit of God that was in him(Gen. 3:7-"...breathed into his nostrils..."). Adam was a direct created being, and was a "son of God" , made in the image of God. We are considered "sons of Adam"(prior to salvation), having the image of fallen Adam: "And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, and after his image; and called his name Seth..." Gen 5:3 "When the Most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam..." Deut. 32:8 "Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God." Luke 3:38 However, the rational the LORD God provides us for "capital punishment": "Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man." Gen. 9:6 Seems those "in Adam"(1 Cor. 15:22) are made in Adam's likeness and the LORD God's image? Just "some thoughts". In Christ, John Whalen

They are mutually exclusive. It is irrelevant what "many Christians" believe-again, belief and the truth are independent. What is relevant is: 1.Christianity focuses on the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ, who said, as it is written: "And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder." Mt. 19:4-6 "But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh." Mark 10:6-8 Sir, no "spin" needed here. The Lord Jesus Christ verifies the truth of the Genesis account. So, even a 5th grader can understand that evolution and Christianity cannot be true. In the beginning they were made as male and female, and not as "mud in the ground". Again, even Jethrow Bodine and his 6th grade education("The Beverly Hillbillies") can figure this out. 2. The premise of evolution is that man is "progressing". The premise of Christianity is just the opposite-man is rotten, no good, desperately wicked.....and getting worse-and hence the NEED FOR A SAVIOUR, the only SAVIOUR, the Lord Jesus Christ.. You have a false view of Christianity if you do not understand this concept. If you do not agree with this "premise", it is either because you cannot read, or have not read the Holy Bible. No "reasonably prudent person" could conclude otherwise. 3."Many Christians do believe in evolution." That is your "opinion", not an argument. You make an assertion, not an argument. Evidence, please. Additionally, you can only make such such an assertion if you know what a "Christian" is. Apparently, you do not. If you do, please provide me your understanding of "what a Christian" is. In Christ, John Whalen
  20. Scientific Atheist: "What is an evolutionist's upside/downside" Leaving the doctrinal question "aside" for now-what is your opinion(and as you well know, truth and opinion are independent)on the following: If evolution is true and the Holy Bible false, then the the Lord Jesus Christ did not rise from the dead. And if He did not rise from the dead, "Eat, Drink, and be Merry, for tomorrow we die", "Go for all the gusto
  21. GoodSamaritan: Re. your "'personal relationship with Jesus'(a term that is nowhere in the Bible)" comment- By this type of "logic", then please refrain from "celebrating" the following RCC "feast days"-none of these "terms" are in the Holy Bible(for that matter, technically the "term" the Holy Bible is not in the Holy Bible-"the book" is): Feast of All Saints, Feast of the Holy Rosary, Feast of The Sacred Heart of Jesus, Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows, Feast of Holy Innocents, Feast of All Souls, Feast of the Holy Family, Feast of the Queenship of the Virgin Mary
  22. Jedi writes: "I want you to know that God is going to hold you accountable of how you judge and condemned me. He is going to hold you accontable for every little word you have spoken. The same way you judged me is how God is going judge you on that great and terrific day. The mercy that you extended me is the same mercy God is going to show or not show you on judgement day. I fear for you and the words you have spoken. I pray that God has mercy on you. God bless, " __________________________________________________________________ My comment: "...God is going to hold you accountable of how you judge and condemn me" If you mean that I will stand before/appear before "the judgment seat of Christ"(Romans 14:10, 2 Cor. 5:10, for then "....every one of us shall give account of himself to God...."(Romans 14:12), I agree with you. But this is a "rewards ceremony" with regards to our SERVICE AS SONS=our "walk"=our sanctification=our fulfilling of: "...we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." Eph. 2:10 " That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works." 2 Tim. 3:15 "Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works." Titus 2:14 "This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men." Titus 3:8 "As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith." Galatians 6:10 As "...ambassadors for Christ...."(2 Cor. 5:20), we represent our leader, the Lord Jesus Christ, in a foreign land. We also are "... labourers together WITH God(emphasis mine-notice it does not say FOR God, but WITH God)-what an honour! But this IS NOT JUDGMENT AS TO Salvation, but as to SERVICE. We will be judged as to how faithful, not successful, we are in fulfilling these responsibilities. We will be judged as to whether we truthfully COMMUNICATED the message of RECONCILLIATION to a predominately Christ-rejecting, lost world(this is what an ambassador does), not CONVICT the world. Success and conviction are the Holy Spirit's responsibility through the written word of God. "...The same way you judged me is how God is going judge you on that great and terrific day" I did no such thing. The word of God judges your false work-based method of acceptance before the LORD GOD, not I, which the apostle Paul refers to as a perversion of the gospel of Christ, another gospel, and is ACCURSED, and those who preach it are ACCURSED(Gal. 1:6-9, 2 Cor. 11:4). I will continue to "call anyone's hand" who does this. Paul's gospel-"my gospel"(Romans 2:16, 16:25; 2 Tim. 2:8): We are saved by the gospel of Christ Paul preached-1 Cor. 15:1-4 We are established by the "my gospel" Paul preached- Romans 16:25 We will be JUDGED by it-Romans 2:16 "...God is going judge you on that great and terrific day" You obviously do not understand the finality of the cross. All my sins were judged already at Calvary 2000 years ago. You can bring no charges against me: "Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth". Romans 8:33 The Lord God has already forgiven, redeemed, reconciled, justified, and SEALED me=done in the past and continues in the present="done deal". I merely wait now for until the redemption of my body. Paul said about the most "carnal"group of believers: " And such WERE(emphasis mine)were some of you: but ye ARE(emphasis mine) washed, but ye ARE(emphasis mine) sanctified, but ye ARE(emphasis mine) justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God" 1 Cor. 6:11. ALL my sins past, present, future were forgiven: Eph. 1:7, 4:32; Col. 1:14, 2:13, 3:13. Not only this, but I have been JUSTIFIED and thus have the righteousness of God "in Christ": Romans 3:22-:26, 4:5, 5:1, 5:9, 5:17-18, 8:30, 10:3; 1 Cor. 1:30, 6:11; 2 Cor. 5:21; Gal. 2:16; Philippians 3:9 "...that great and terrific day"? If you mean the "Day of the Lord', I will not be here. " The mercy that you extended me is the same mercy God is going to show or not show you on judgement day."/"I pray that God has mercy on you." He ALREADY HAS! AND MORE! Justice is getting what you deserve. Mercy is not getting what you deserve. Grace is getting something you do not deserve. Once again, you demonstrate your inability to understand THE FINALITY OF THE CROSS. The sin issue was dealt with completely 2000 years ago, when JUSTICE, MERCY, AND GRACE. were all put on public display"-the meaning of "...set forth...." in Romans 3:25. God has already accomplished JUSTICE by judging His only Begotten Son in my stead, and thus I received 1. MERCY=not getting what I deserved because the Lord Jesus Christ took my judgment by taking my place="FOR"=the principle of substitution and identification, and 2.GRACE=getting something I don't deserve=the righteousness of God in Christ through the principle of imputation.. Here is what all believers who are now "in Christ" have by the grace of God: 1.A believer is in the Eternal Plan of God, sharing the destiny of the Lord Jesus Christ. As such, the believer is: 1.Foreknown: Acts 2:23; Rom. 8:29 Elect: Rom. 8:33; Col. 3:12; 1 Thess. 1:4; Titus 1:1; Predestined: Rom. 8:29,30; Eph. 1:5,11 Chosen in Christ: Eph. 1:4 Called: 1 Thess. 5:24 2. The believer is Reconciled: By God, 2 Cor. 5:18; Col. 1:20 To God, Rom. 5:10; 2 Cor. 5:20; Eph. 2:14f. 3. The believer is Redeemed (purchased from the slave market of sin): Rom. 3:24; Col. 1:14; 1 Pet. 1:18; Eph. 1:7. 4. The believer is Removed from Condemnation: John 3:18; 5:24; Rom. 8:1. 5. The believer is under Grace and not under Judgment (doctrine of Propitiation): Rom. 3:24-28; 1 John 2:2. 6. The believer's sins are judged by the spiritual death of Christ on the Cross: Rom. 4:25; Eph. 1:7; 1 Pet. 2:24. 7. The believer is made dead to the old life and alive unto God. He is: Crucified with Christ: Rom. 6:6; Gal. 2:20 Dead with Christ: Rom. 6:8; Col. 3:3; 1 Pet. 2:24 Buried with Christ: Rom. 6:4; Col. 2:12 Risen with Christ: Rom. 6:4; Col. 3:1 8. The believer is free from the law: Rom. 6:14; 7:4,6; 2 Cor. 3:11; Gal. 3:25. 9. The believer is adopted (placed as an adult heir in the family of God): Rom. 8:15; 8:23; Eph. 1:5. 10. The believer is justified (declared righteous): Rom. 3:24; 5:1,9; 8:30; 1 Cor. 6:11; Titus 3:7................................... 11. The believer is regenerated (born spiritually into the family of God): 1 Cor. 6:11; Titus 3:5. In regeneration the believers are: Adopted: Romans 8:15, Gal. 4:5, Eph. 1:5 Children of God: Gal. 3:26 Sons of God: 2 Cor. 6:18 New Creations: 2 Cor. 5:17; Gal. 6:15; Eph. 2:10 12. The believer is made acceptable to God: Eph. 1:6; 1 Pet. 2:5. To make a believer acceptable to Himself, God sees to it that the believer is: Made righteous: Rom. 3:22; 1 Cor. 1:30; 2 Cor. 5:21; Phil. 3:9 Sanctified positionally: 1 Cor. 1:30; 6:11 Perfected forever: Heb. 10:14 Made qualified: Col. 1:12 13. The believer is forgiven all trespasses: Eph. 1:7; 4:32; Col. 1:14; 2:13; 3:13 14. The believer is made nigh (heavenly citizenship based on Reconciliation): Eph. 2:13,19; Phil. 3:20 15. The believer is delivered from the kingdom of Satan: Col. 1:13; 2:15 16. The believer is transferred into God's Kingdom: Col. 1:13 17. The believer is placed on a secure foundation: 1 Cor. 3:11; 10:4; Eph. 2:20 18. The believer is a gift from God the Father to the Lord Jesus Christ: John 10:20; 17:2,6,9,11,12,24 19. The believer is delivered from the power of the Sin Nature; Rom. 2:29; Phil. 3:3; Col. 2:11 20. The believer is under the care of God as a chosen generation and a protected people: Tit. 2:14 21. The believer is given access to God: Rom. 5:2; Eph. 2:18; Heb. 4:14,16; 10:19,20 22. The believer is within the much more care of God; as such we are: Objects of His love: Eph. 2:4; 5:2 Objects of His Grace: for salvation, Eph. 2:8,9; for keeping, Rom. 5:2; 1 Pet. 1:5; for service, John 17:18; Eph. 4:7; for instruction, Titus 2:12 Objects of His power: Eph. 1:19; Phil. 2:13 Objects of His faithfulness: Phil. 1:6; Heb. 13:5 Objects of His peace: John 14:27 Objects of His consolation: 2 Th. 2:16 Objects of His intercession: Rom. 8:34; 7:25; 9:24 23. The believer is part of Christ's inheritance: Eph. 1:18 24. The believer is a beneficiary of the inheritance from God (an heir of God and a joint-heir with the Lord Jesus Christ): Rom. 8:17; Eph. 1:14; Col. 3:24; Heb. 9:15; 1 Pet. 1:4 25. The believer has a new position in Christ: Eph. 2:6; Col. 3:4; 1 Cor. 1:9; 3:9; 2 Cor. 3:3,6; 5:20; 6:1,4 26. The believer is the recipient of eternal life: Romans 6:23 27. The believer is a member of the family of God: Gal. 6:10; Eph. 2:19 28. The believer is Light in the Lord: Eph. 5:8; 1 Thess. 5:4 29. The believer is united with the Father: 1 Thess. 1:1, cf. Eph. 4:6 He is united with Christ: Col. 1:27 A member of His Body: 1 Cor. 12:13 A Stone in the Building: Eph. 2:21,22 A Saint of the new species: 2 Cor. 5:17 He is united with the Holy Spirit Rom. 8:9; 8:29 30. The believer is the recipient of the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Born of the Spirit: John 3:6 Baptized by the Spirit: 1 Cor. 12:13 Indwelt by the Spirit: John 7:39; Rom. 5:5; 8:9; 1 Cor. 3:16; 6:19; Gal. 4:6; 1 John 3:24 Sealed by the Spirit: 2 Cor. 1:22; Eph. 4:30 31. The believer is glorified in Christ: Rom. 3:20 32. The believer is made complete in Christ: Col. 2:10 33. The believer is the possessor of every spiritual blessing: Eph. 1:3 34. The believer is the recipient of a human spirit: Rom. 8:16; 1 Cor. 2:12; 2 Cor. 7:13; 1 Thess. 5:23; Eph. 2:5 35. The believer has access to all Bible truth through the Grace system for Bible understanding and Christian growth: Col. 2 and Eph. 4. The list goes on. Quite a "401-K". And you cannot touch this 401-k the LORD has given me. You cannot take these away from me. You merely provided "your opinion" in your previous post, not an argument. I thank the God the Father through the Lord Jesus Christ that your opinion and the truth are independent. Thank you for wishing me "God bless", but HE ALREADY HAS-done deal: "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ..." 23. Jedi writes: "You have no clue what that scipture means much less your use of taken it out of context. And I hope you not calling me heretic. Do you want to burn me at the stack too or maybe throw me to lions. I am a heretic because I tell people that they should live a holy life before God. And your a saint because you tell people that its ok to continue in sin. Go figure!" _____________________ My comment: Yes, you are a heretic judging by your posts, and not because you tell people to "live a holy life before God". No one would disagree with you when you say we should "live a holy life before God", BUT NOT AS A BASIS FOR OUR ACCEPTANCE by Him!-not as our basis for JUSTIFICATION. We live a holy life because we are sons, because we are justified, because we are saved, NOT TO BE SONS, NOT TO BE JUSTIFIED, NOT TO BE SAVED. Again, the Biblical order is SONSHIP, then SERVICE, not vica versa. Holy means "sanctified"=set aside for God's purpose. But God only uses those instruments that are His, and "saints" describes those who are already justified=His="in Christ". Paul calls the Corinthians, the most carnal, dirty, lustful group of believer SAINTS. You say "And your a saint because you tell people that its ok to continue in sin. Go figure!" No, you are a liar. I never told people that it is OK to sin. You make that charge to others also. That is a typical charge from a puffed-up, self righteous person such as yourself who compares himself to others as the standard for righteousness, instead of God's standard, which is 100% perfection. and this standard is found only in the Lord Jesus Christ. I am a saint because I have been justified by Believing 1 Cor. 15:1-4, and I have "the righteousness of God in him". You cannot condemn me-I have been justified. My motivation not to sin(my "walk") is fueled by what this great Saviour has already done for me, and is out of a sense of gratitude, not obligation-it is motivated by His love for me("For the love of Christ constraineth us"- 2 Cor. 5:14), not on how much I love Him. This is what grace teaches. You teach the law, which puts others in bondage. I will not allow you to do this unchallenged. "Do you want to burn me at the stack too or maybe throw me to lions." No, I will oppose you with all the strength the Lord provides me if you continue to "preach"(I again use that term loosely) any perversion of the gospel of Christ. I have no need to "throw you to the lions", for you will be cursed-read Galatians chapter one over and over. You, sir(and I use that term loosely)are perverting the gospel of Christ and preaching another gospel-you continue to say that one must "turn from their sins", "stop sinning".... to be justified. You have no clue as to what justification is, much less what sin is. Sin is not just "wrong doing", it is "wrong being"(that is the whole point of "all...come short of the glory of God"). You commit sins you do not even know you are committing. You do not understand that FORGIVENESS OF SINS(plural) IS NOT JUSTIFICATION. The LORD God does forgive SINS(plural), but He does not forgive SIN(singular)=who we are "in Adam"=the source of sin-sin must be JUDGED/CONDEMNED: "For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh...." Romans 8:3 This was accomplished by the Lord Jesus Christ at Calvary by the principles of IDENTIFICATION and SUBSTITUTION. Sins(plural) were forgiven, but sin(singular) was not-it was judged, the Lord Jesus Christ bearing that judgement. You error by thinking that "stop sinning"=acts of commission "solves the sin issue". You could "stop sinning" all the rest of your life(which in your self righteous PRIDE you refuse to admit you cannot do anyways), and that would not allow you in the presence of our Holy God. The biblical requirement is not just forgiveness=a pardon for an offence, but JUSTIFICATION=a legal declaration of righteousness, and includes not just "stop doing what is wrong", but also DOING EVERYTHING THAT IS RIGHT. And this is "the righteousness of God in him"(2 Cor. 5:21), the "righteousness of God"(Romans 1:17), " righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe"(Romans 3:22), " And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith"(Philippians 3:9). You refuse to listen to God when He tells you to SHUT UP in Romans 3;18 AND ADMIT YOUR GUILT. You refuse to understand that the Lord Jesus Christ died for the UNGODLY and SINNERS=no fixing up. In Christ and with Christ, John Whalen
