As a kid growing up Christmas was a very big deal in our house. My dad who is now home with the Lord, and I use to hit the malls around the 5th of December, do our shopping for mom, and then go shopping for decorations for the house. He loved Christmas. We had three trees in our house, and the whole season was magic. However it was never forgotten what we were really celebrating, the birth of our saviour. I miss that. Steve and I now spend Christmas with his son in Wrightwood Calif about two hours from our home. There is always snow and we love just being with the family. His son and his wife have four children, older but we really enjoy just being there and loving each other. Merry Christmas everyone !

This one is a no brainer. The Beach house is built on the sand. Sand shifts and comes and goes as the waves come and go. No stability there. In a storm you can bet your going to loose your house. Ahhh the the lighthouse is built on a rock The Rock, Jesus is the one we should build our house on. He does not change and will never be battered by the storms in our lives. A lighthouse can be seen for miles even in the worst storms, how many ships and lives have been saved because of them? Jesus is our lighthouse and that light will never go out. Don't build your house on the shifting sand but rather build it on the rock and know that it will never change.

Welcome Brownlee, I too would like to say that this post is awesome. God really does inhabit the praises of His people!

Thank you Lord! Where would we be if God had not sent His only Son to be born on this earth? We need to read the Christmas story everyday. Thank you Thomas. How awesome!

Amen Mike, there is no shadow of turning in our God! You are an awesome brother and you are loved! -
I have been thinking of Thomas's question why do so many Christians crash and burn. There are probably hundreds of answers, but I think this is the main one. We as believers don't know who we really are. We belong to the King of Kings and the Lord of all. We belong to a saviour who spoke to the storm after the disciples had been battling it all night and with just a word He calmed the seas. We belong to the one who called a dead man out of a grave after three days totally healed and restored. We belong to the one who when a woman touched the hem of his robe was set free from a disease that had her for years. To the one who while on the cross prayed for and forgave the very ones who put Him there, and promised the thief on His side, that "today you shall be with Me in paradise". And I always think of the soldier who was there at the crucifixion and came to faith because he realized who Jesus was. We have a saviour who after we do crash and burn picks us up and dusts us off and goes right on loving us. So the next time you fail or crash and burn, just remember who you are. You are a child of the most High God who gave his only Son for you. It's ok if you loose a battle now and then and believe me you will, but always remember that the war has already been won. Thank you Jesus!

Amen Thomas, Thank you for reminding us what the true meaning of Christmas is. It's all about Jesus!

Excellent Thomas, This can be a tough walk. But it's so worth it. I look at people in other walks of life. They have tons of money, everything at their finger tips. Would I trade places with them knowing they don't know Jesus? No Way! As one reply said...you don't count the costs. But still I'm here to stay! Praise God.

I don't have a problem with children believing in Santa. I did, but was still taught that the real meaning of Christmas was Jesus. As long as Santa is not at the top of the list and Jesus is, kids will grow out of it unharmed, most of us did.

Thomas this is a very interesting question, but I agree with the person that said it's probably a good thing we don't know where it is because we would worship it rather then the finished work that was done on it by Jesus. I once knew a lady who claimed to have a piece of the cross that she wore around here neck on a chain in some clear resin. I doubted it then and I still doubt it. She too was a Catholic. If this is a work that Jesus did for all of us why would only the Catholics have the pieces of the cross? No it most likely is long gone but the gift that was given to us on that cross reaches across eternity.

Hi Jacqueline, This is a topic that God has been dealing with me about. You are your cousin are right...God doesn't not send us to hell but we can send ourselves by rejecting His son Jesus. Jesus said "I am the way, the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father but by Me". I have a friend who is a christian and says Hell does not exist, rather if we are not christians we just die and go out into nothing...that is a false teaching and is very dangerous. It gives people an excuse for not accepting the gift that God gave to us in the form of His Son Jesus. I don't know much about the word Hell from the greek but I do know hell is a place reserved for those who choose not to follow Christ. It has been said that if every believer could get a glimpse of hell for just a split second we would be beating peoples doors down warning them about it. I agree. Remember we will spend eternity with Jesus as christians, but those who do not follow Christ will spend eternityty in a place that the Bible calls outer darkness, a place of torment where the flame is not quenched and the worm does not die. This cannot be sugar coated as my friend does. It needs to be preached just as the word describes it and ask the Holy Spirit to do His work in the lives of those we love that are lost before it's to late.

The date was December 7th 1941. It was the day that the United States was drawn into WW11. In that unprovoked attack we lost over 2400 men. It is remembered because we choose to honor the ones that gave the ultimate sacrifice for this country. Other then 911 it was the worst attack on this country. We need to remember this so it will never happen again.

Amen sister, Faithie your so right. Luck has nothing to do with the Christian life. It's God's blessings in our lives and not luck. Leave luck to the Las Vegas gambler.

PinkMo, Welcome to Worthy Boards. It is a pleasure to have you as an addition. You are but one of many out there who are lost and trying to find a way to build a firm foundation with Christ. PinkMo, there is not one of us out there without sin or one of us out there who has not done something detestable to God. However, there is forgiveness for you, as well as the rest of us if we not only forgive ourselves but take it to the Lord and ask Him for it as well through prayer. Thirty three years is a long time to go without knowing the Lord, bu there is still time as well as a chance for you to get to know him. The bible can be a difficult book to understand, but know this. You do NOT have to read the whole bible to get into Heaven! Praise God for it too, for the way into Heaven is through belief in his son, Christ Jesus who came to die for you and me. All that God would have you do to become His is to pray to Him, giving Him your heart. Keep in mind that even as Christians we still fall short of God's glory, but once we give ourselves to God, each and every last one of our sins is washed away and we are whiter than snow if we have belief in the Lord, Jesus Christ. It is never too late to accept the Lord until you are gone. Just take the moment now to pray to him. You can always feel free to pm me as well if there is anything more you need help with. God Bless you. With Love In Christ, Danielle <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I have in the last week or so seen an amazing out pouring of love when our brother Mike (Thomas I Believe) was sick. People that came in new began to stand with in the gap for Mike, believing that God was doing a work in this man of Gods life. Mike and I have talked several times over the last week and we have both agreed that God is doing a work in Worthy Chat by bringing us into a closer relationship with each other as we grow in our walk with God. Here we are people from all walks of life, hundreds and sometimes thousands of miles apart, loving each other as only "His children" can. I am excited about what is happening in Worthy. We are seeing people coming to Jesus, being healed, and restored into the family of God. I believe Worthy Chat is a tool for the Holy Spirit in these end times. I can only believe it's going to get better. I love each and everyone of you, thank you for loving me.
