Another AMEN here.

I guess my main intent here is NOT to bash President Bush. Seriously I had no intention of starting a thread to do that...but I am EXTREMELY alarmed at the many compromises that are being perpetrated by those claiming to "Christians". These people desire moderation, if your faith in Jesus gets into all aspects of your life then you are a zealot or under the influence of a cult or bad sect. People are so worried as to whether a Christian's beliefs are going to affect professional life and here I am thinking..."GEEZ I hope their faith does if they're led by the Holy Spirit!" I used to be on the other side of that fence fellows and I will tell you exactly why I was worried if someone's beliefs in Jesus were going to affect decisions being made. Because I was afraid their decisions would interfere in the unhealthy way I wanted to live my life. Christians are to obey the law. Christians are to submit to authority. Christians are supposed to love their enemies. Christians are supposed to get their hands dirty caring for and healing those in need. Sounds like attributes of an excellant public servant to me.

Oh can I ask a hypothetical question here too? What if a man came in dressed as a woman? Our church is very cold at times cause the pastor gets hot and the congregation sometimes freezes...lol. She would probably want a jacket. Everyone would be nice to her I know especially our pastor and his wife. What was he selling or doing? Not enough info. We have folks like that already in our church. It's nothing new. I doubt most of us would even know who he was, we'd probably not find out until someone saw our church featured on his blog.

While we do not know someone's heart one can generally be found out by the fruit one bears. We should all respect the authority of President Bush and pray for him and all our leaders but do not be decieved into thinking that there is any room for compromise and double speak when you decide to actually take up the cross. Whatever President Bush's beliefs are, I do know who actully runs things and have complete faith in Him.

Just surfed by CNN and came across a blurb about the new appointee to supreme court Miers. How can an evangelical Christian recognize that your religion has no role when it comes to making decisions. When you get saved aren't you supposed to be a "new creation"? Aren't you supposed to become more like Christ? If all the above is true, how can her relationship with God NOT affect her decision making. I know it affects my day to day decisions and when I don't allow that, that is when I really make mistakes. And this "person of faith" stuff....what is that? How about Woman of God? Believer in Christ Christian When they all start quoting that person of faith stuff it just makes me think of a bunch of people getting together and agreeing to "pretend" that they actually believe what they believe and that they will let each other believe what they want and not bother each other with all their different beliefs. And we've been fighting wars over THAT? (pretending) I now know what having the "Mind of Christ" is and I am certain being a "person of faith" has nothing to do with it.

Kids can't get along
disconnected replied to Annette443pink's topic in Have a problem? Looking for advice?
If you stay in this your son may think that this is the way Christians behave. If your pastor already knows about this and nothing is being done then you have a duty to leave. You shouldn't have to think about this one. Your son is the youngest? These kids could hurt him. For REAL. Please take care of your child, God gave him to you to raise and he is your responsibility...by letting these children continue to abuse him you are condoning their behavior. There are other churches, and this isn't a "personality conflict". This involves the safety and mental wellbeing of your child. Pray for these people but God wants you in a place where He is being worshipped not where everyone is picking on a little kid. -

He admitted to me today he was struggling with keeping some of the things I had stolen, since he thought he could use them with a clear conscience. The Lord showed him this was wrong he said. Incidentally, today he looked in the mirror and said he could finally stand to look at himself. (Before he saw emptiness) Miracle after miracle is happening for our family. -
Need to get rid of some baggage!

Update: Our Heavenly Father is so wonderful! My husband and I were able to BOTH agree we should return any and all stolen items! An hour after we agreed to this together this morning I started having a major anxiety attack and my blood pressure was measured at 177/110. (I posted on that in prayer requests) http://www.worthyboards.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=28520 This is the second episode I've had since we've been folloing Christ together as a family. Obviously I am fine now, and I feel a wee bit violated. (They thought I was on drugs and then they thought I was nuts and called a psychiatric nurse down who promptly told them I was fine) If I ever had any pride it certainly is gone now. -

So, I will wait and pray for my husband and do what I can do to restore (donating time or personal money) what I stole. -
We've been having attacks from Satan right and left lately, and I just feel that we need to get rid of items tied to former sins. Like stolen things, such as stop signs, and things that we stole before we were saved, and things people who were involved in partying with had given us. Howver my husband isn't up to date on this "concept" and doesn't get it when I say that we need to remove these items from our home. Should I remove them without his permission since he never told me I could not, he just said he wouldn't. What would be the right thing to do in this situation? I think getting rid of them is "following through" with repentance. I don't feel right in keeping them.

I was ready to die and told the Lord so right before He broke through and delivered my husband from drugs and lying and cheating. Is there a church nearby you could go to for help? You are raising your step daughter? You were meant to be there for her and you are serving the Lord by caring for her. Make sure both of you are safe, even if that means swearing out a warrant against him. I committed my husband because he literally went insane on cocaine. When he got out we took him to church, but I did have his family behind me. You need to have the support of Believers too. Find a church and start talking to the pastor. This is SO important.

Love a Buddhist, what can I do?
disconnected replied to silviawang's topic in Have a problem? Looking for advice?
The choice is between your Savior or your earthly love. This man did not die for you, cannot save you, & cannot love you more than Jesus. Would you really choose your boyfriend over Jesus? This man does not have the mind of Christ and CANNOT offer you the type of love Christ offered you. -
Clinic offers free abortions to hurricane evacuees
disconnected replied to disconnected's topic in World News
I wish people would get a clue. Abortion is never an alternative. As a woman who once had an abortion, I can painfully say that it is NEVER a choice a woman should ever make. This would literally kill the spirit of anyone under regular circumstances and an already traumatized woman does not need the added misery of killing her child. -
LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas (AP) -- A doctor has offered to perform free abortions on hurricane evacuees, saying it may be too dangerous for them to wait until they return home. Despite protests from abortion opponents, Little Rock Family Planning clinic director Dr. Jerry Edwards said he has already performed six free abortions. The clinic usually charges between $525 and $600 for a first-trimester abortion. "If we didn't provide it now, they would get it later -- a late-term abortion that would give greater risk to the mother's health," Edwards told KTHV-TV in Little Rock. Edwards, who runs the only abortion clinic in central Arkansas, was unavailable for further comment Tuesday, a clinic employee told The Associated Press. Rose Mimms, executive director of Arkansas Right to Life, said Edwards is risking further traumatizing women who have already lost their material belongings. "This just adds to the devastation these women already have in their lives," she said. But Marvin Schwartz, spokesman for Arkansas-Oklahoma Planned Parenthood, said Edwards is providing women with a needed service. "The timing of the abortion procedure is, of course, extremely critical. The earlier in the pregnancy, the less critical it is," he said. http://www.cnn.com/2005/HEALTH/09/28/free....s.ap/index.html

The gambling has caused much misery. We still have rampant alcoholism, poverty, and domestic violence, theft. The folks who benefit most from the gambling aren't the people who actually need the money either. I'm so glad my people have chosen to display the 10 commandments for all to see, but I would much rather see the 10 commandments written in their HEARTS! The gambling has let in so many unclean spirits.

I would also add to those who are cautioning against dating this girl. If she is not a believer it is not good for your son to date her. We should never be unequally yoked.

The saddest thing is that while it didn't happen on our soil, it could. We saw the nation react regarding Katrina, and the Lord knows this isn't the last catastrophee that will ever hit the US. We are spoiled and think there is no end to our wealth and good fortune. It can all go in a moment. And if it does, who knows who might take over. Could be folks who won't tolerate Christianity. We don't know.

Yes, we sure haven't seen anything yet!

Salvation Army Running Out Of Food & Supplies
disconnected replied to disconnected's topic in World News
God is there though. While I agree we should be doing more, He is ALL those people need. Let us the real America, the people open our arms to all those who are displaced or hurt ing and welcome them. Only the grace of God has kept any of us from suffering in such a manner so far. -
