  1. I saw on the news that mormons have grown drastically over the psst few years. Aaron
  2. That's cool, thank you, I need to learn Greek, and Hebrew to get a better understanding of scripture. Thanks again Aaron
  3. In Isaiah 14:12 Isaiah states "How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations!" Then if you turn to Revelation 22:16 Yeshua says "I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star." Self explanitory question, why does Jesus refer to himself Morning Star, and Isaiah call satan morning star. I am sure that the original words are different, I am in no way saying anything bad about Yeshua, or Isaiah, I just dont understand. Thanks, Aaron
  4. Romans 10:12 "For there is no difference between Jew, and Gentile-the same Lord is Lord of all..." In order to be Jewish, you have to reject Christ as savior, by doing this you are rejecting salvation. I am not in any position to judge them, but Yeshua himself said that through Him is the only way to the Father. Aaron
  5. Paul isn't teaching that long hair is a sin, in that culture long hair was considered disgraceful, but it wasn't a sin. They wouldn't go to hell for having long hair, if that were the case, then Christ's death was for nothing. Samson having long hair has nothing to do with the letter Paul wrote to the church in Corinth. Aaron
  6. Just agree to disagree on this, noone will change their beliefs based on this, another argument that divides the body of Christ. Church's spend so much time debating scripture, which leads to anger, and resentment between brothers, nobody on this board, or in the World has a right to say who is, and who isn't going to hell. To say someone is going to hell for not getting baptised with water is a scary, and abrupt judgement on your part. Only G-d Almighty can judge us. We need to start focusing on the true goals of Christianity which revolves around love of each other, and love of others. Drop the trivial arguments, and unite. These things have been argued for a LONG time, and still nothing good has come from it. Aaron
  7. If I'm not mistaken, his point was that Old or New Testament/ Old or New Covenant, the fact remains that God does not contradict Himself - ever. Thus, when something in the New seems to contradict the Old, we must conclude that it is our interpretation at fault not that God has changed. And yes, there was vast wickedness and corruption within the church at Corinth. From rebellion within families to rampant sexual perversions and temple prostitutes. In fact, from what I understand, the reason behind much of Paul's focus on sexual purity and order within the church and home was because the line between the world and the body of Christ had been so blurred there was little to no distinction at all anymore. The women within the church were dressing in the same attire that the temple prostitutes would wear, etc...so Paul was being specific about the need for distinction. He was trying to establish boundaries that would reflect submission to God and a clear seperation between the lusts of the flesh and hearts that were led by God's Spirit. He wasn't being the fashion police and defining what was "sin" (in regards to appearance). The entire point is about order, authority, submission, humility and obedience. It's not about the length of one's hair or whether you wear jewelry or not. Very good post. I was discussing this verse with someone, and they told me that Paul wrote this becuase of the culture they were living in. An example of this today is, we have the peace sign here in America, which is perfectly fine to do, but if you take that custom over to other countries, France if I'm not mistaken, it is the equivelent of the middle finger in America. So what they followed in Corinth, Greece, at that time, it was considered taboo to have long hair, looked on as being a a disgrace, and Paul didn't want the church to be portrayed that way. It might be wrong, but it sounds right to me. And G-d has never, and will never contradict Himself.
  8. Samson was under Old Testament Law though, Leviticus 19:27 "Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head, or clip off the edges of your beard." That doesn't really have anything to do with Samson, but they had different laws then. Orthodox Jews still go by these standards, so I don't see any contradiction. When following those laws became routine, and meaningless Yeshua came to put new meaning to them, but I still don't understand what Paul is talking about in regards to long hair being " a disgrace." Maybe something was happening in the Church of Corinth that would make him say these things. A lot of what Paul said is being debated by everyone, especially in dealing with women preachers, which we will not get into on here, lol, please. My study Bible says that Paul was talking about it being common custom for men to wear their hair short, and women long in worship services... I dont know G-d Bless Aaron
  9. I don't care what Jesus looks/looked like, it's just that all the pictures, and statues I see of what Jesus might have looked like are with long hair, and usually very pale. Since Jesus was Jewish, he would obviously be dark, but who cares, I wouldn't care if he was purple, I would still love Him more than anything. Aaron
  10. All the fighting is understandable, but not excuseable, when dealing with religion, people have DEEP rooted views on the gospel, and different denominations have different ways of viewing the gospel, to tear in to somebody for not thinking the way you do is not Christian. We should just bite our tongues on certain subjects, of course tempers will flare, but never lose site on what is most important, and that is our L-rd and Savior Yeshua/Jesus/Christ/Messiah/Son of G-d......Every day I focus on Him, and my life has been wonderful ever since I have done that. Bad things still happen to me, but I put my trust in Yeshua to take care of me. All glory to Yeshua. Aaron
  11. I should stop posting, I seem to be causing a lot of fights, hah, sorry. Aaron
  12. This is one of those topics that people will argue over untill Yeshua's return. The only point I can add is, when I first found Yeshua as my savior, and I got down on my knee's and prayed to him for the first time, I could 100% feel the gift of the Holy Spirit, I was overwhelmed with so many emotions, and the feeling of acceptance that can only come from the Spirit. Later, when I was baptised, I felt nothing like that, I was just outwardly expressing my inward feelings on accepting Christ as my savior. Not to say that baptism isn't important, but it is not neccesary, in my opinion, for salvation, which comes by grace from G-d alone. I'm sure that almost every Christian has their story of first coming to Christ, and experiencing great joy, relief, and appreciation for the Savior, prior to being baptised. People baptise with water, but the Spirit of G-d baptises with fire. Aaron
  13. In these verses Paul is talking about Women to have long hair, and men to have short hair. He goes on to say that isn't it a disgrace for a man to have long hair? If Yeshua himself had long hair, I doubt that Paul would have made this statement. Am I completely misunderstanding this part of scripture?? Thanks for any clarification. Aaron
  14. Hebrews 6:4-6 speaks about this specifically, "It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of G-d and the powers of the coming age, if they fall away, to br brought back to repentance, because to their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again, and subjecting him to public disgrace." I had a lot of difficulty with this verse, but people on here clarified it for me, if you give your life to Yeshua, and then adamently turned against "the light" you have recieved you could not repent this sin. So it is possible to accept him, and be saved, and then have to option of rejecting him out of your life. Aaron
  15. One of my favorite Psalm, is Psalm 40, and not just because it became a U2 song. The beggining of the psalm shows how beautiful our G-d really is "He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand." Anyone belonging to G-d has their stories of G-d rescuing them from terrible situations, and everyone has been in the slimy pit of mud, and mire, so we can all relate to this Psalm. Our L-rd is so wonderful, I can't any find words to express my love, and respect for Yeshua. Aaron
  16. The apostle Paul is probably my favorite writer in the Bible, he did write half of the new testament, but that is not the reason why I like him so much. He is a very humble man, and I think Yeshua chose him because he saw something awesome in this man, that could help many, and he has. A lot of his writing has to be associated with the times in which it was written. He was writing to these churches/towns/groups of people, to help the early churches of Christianity. At first Saul/Paul is persecuting, and even murdering Christians before Yeshua appeared to him. At that point, Paul was humbled greatly, and his writings convey that message, and the message of genuine love of our L-rd Yeshua. The early churches were having a tough time accepting the fact that they are saved by grace alone, all they knew was following the law, and to suddenly not have to do all the things that they are used to had to have been hard on them. When Yeshua died, they were set free, and everybody that believed there after. Just like when things change in our lives, you always have to get used to it. I have heard many bad things about Paul, but I think, and know that he was a wonderful Christian, that gave everything he had for the Church, and his people.
  17. That is really cool, I will read them again, my mother was a Christian when I was little, and she had lots of Lewis books around the house, I picked up that one, and didn't put it down. I am really looking forward to the movie now, thanks a lot. Aaron
  18. I have been searching for a Church that suits my needs, and I have found that there is no perfect Church, but you can find one that will suit you better than others. Personally, I can't stand the sound of Christian Rock, I adore the messages that they display, it just rubs me the wrong way. I like the older gospel music, like Mahlia Jackson, Aretha Franklin.... I would say to keep searching for a Church that will suit you best, and if you find nothing better go back to this one. A brother in Christ, Aaron
  19. I have heard many Christians talking about C.S. Lewis, and this book. I know C.S. Lewis is a Christian, but what is the Religious parallel of this movie?? I read the book, but I was too young to remember much, but I do remember I loved it. I want to see the movie, and I think I will like it a lot more when I know how it ties in to Christianity. Thanks a lot, Aaron
  20. Here is a wonderful, and imformative site that I found which answers many questions, this particular link shows non-biblical accounts refferring to the bible. http://www.carm.org/questions/extrabiblical_accounts.htm Aaron

    Endless Jihad

Those "Christians" who were violent, and oppressive were not genuine Christians. If they followed the Bible like we are called to do, they would have killed nobody. Anybody who follows Christ should, and can not make the rules apply to their cause. Two commandments that Yeshua tells us to follow, Love G-d with all your heart, soul, and mind. Second, love your neighbor as you love yourself. If you follow what Yeshua taught, you would not kill, oppress, judge, put down..... anyone. And for one to commit murder in Yeshua's name is commiting a great sin, and do not belong to Him. On a different note, I know that all muslims don't kill innocent people for their cause, but what they follow is false. Anyone who defends them is defending and idolterer, Yeshua is the ONLY way to the Father, I don't care who I offend with that statement, that is basis of Christianity, and I pray for those lost souls who follow any false religion, to come to know Christ, because I don't want anyone to be without the True G-d, no matter race, creed, or anything that seperates us as humans. All glory to Christ. Aaron

    Endless Jihad

I honestly dont see how anyone could not believe in Yeshua. There are so many prophesies that were fulfilled by Him, how can anyone deny him as our savior. I'm talking about people who believe in a "god" allah, and still reject Yeshua. It's in black and white, the Scriptures are perfect, it is GOD ALMIGHTY'S Word, what a gift we get from him for the Scriptures, and especially for His Son. To kill in the name of anything, is still killing, and those people who kill for allah will be held accountable in front of the true God. I pray for them to come to know Yeshua, the Prince of Princes, I hope that He reaches out to them, and brings them to true salvation. Glory to the Son of God, Yeshua, for all eternity. Aaron
  23. wow, that was wonderful to read. Thank you
  24. In this verse John is speaking about G-d forgiving sins that dont lead to death, then at the end of that verse he says; "There is a sin that leads to death." What is he referring to when he says that?? And since I am in this book, I have a question about 1John5:18 "We know that anyone born of G-d does not continue to sin:" Is he saying that we no longer purposefully choose to sin?? Thank you for any help you can give me with this. Aaron
  25. If your outlook on church is it being a burden to you, then G-d wouldn't want you there anyway. Going to church isn't about listening to some guy preach about our L-rd, but to come together to worship our meaning to exist. When I was younger I hated going to church, thus I recieved nothing by going, but now that I love to I get a lot out of church. Church shouldn't be a chore to keep somebody out of hell, that's not what it's about, it is a gift to us from G-d to gather and recieve his glory. Church isn't required for salvation, but is a wonderful thing if you go in with the right attitude. Aaron
