  1. This subject is one that I have pondered on since I became a Christian. I have a friend who is a SDA and they truely believe in Saturday Sabbath. From sundown Fri, til sundown Sat. This day is totally given to the Lord. He will not shop at a store (for this contributes to making other people work) he prepares everything the day before. On the Sabbath he attends church, does alot of praying, walking in natures beauty, maybe a bible study...basically spends that complete 24 hours with the Lord. As a Christian I have to wonder if the SDA's are right about this. I want to do what's right in the eyes of the Lord. After all it is a Commandment! I really don't want to follow some tradition that someone decided to do around 350 A.D. There is no where in the Bible that says it's ok to change the Sabbath. When the Sabbath is refered in the Bible it is on Saturday. I have asked many people about this and the answers I get are; We are saved by Grace, We changed to Sun because of Jesus' Ressurection. The key word is "we" not God or Jesus, "We"...who are we to change Gods commandments? I give every day to the Lord but now on Sat I try really hard not fall into the "worldly" traditions. I pray as I do every day, try not to work or make anyone else work, and if I end up working I ask God for his forgivness. Then on Sun I attend church, I spend it with family ect... I guess in my opinion we are saved by Gods Grace no matter what day we give to Him. As long as we give ourselves to him we are saved.
  2. I'm going to give this one a shot! I am going to be baptized on New Years Day. I am a strong believer in baptism. Here is what I have read; Mark 16;16 "He Who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemed." Acts 2;38 Then Peter said to them "Repent, and let everyone of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall recieve the gift of the Holy Spirit." Matthew 28;19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." So the way i understand it is, baptizm is way to recieve the Holy Spirit, it's a "public" announcement of your renentance, an event to be shared, and a new way of life. (works)
