So what is this, "dead in Christ" ?

    Your response will be appreciate.

You should read and study these scriptures concerning this found in....Ephesians 2: 1-10;  Romans 6: 1-14

Do you think we should ban all Muslims from coming into the U.S.? Why or why not?

Absolutely I think all Muslims should be banned from coming into the U.S.   There is no amount of scrutiny that can be done at the borders that can determine and assure the American people that the Muslims coming in the country will be a peaceful people once they are allowed into the country.   The Muslim's religion is another main reason to keep them out.  I am in no way against freedom of religion but when that freedom of religion could mean the death of the U.S. citizens themselves then the Muslims are not the countries friend.  Instead they are the American's enemies on their own homeland and not abroad.  The violence will only continue to increase as long as the Muslims are allowed to keep coming in the U.S.

I feel it is important to not be afraid to disagree with a spiritual teacher. Like a pastor.  A lot of people have grown up thinking that if that pastor says something then it must be so. Even if they don't understand or agree with it. But they are afraid to disagree or not go along with it for fear they may go to hell.

That is so true LadyKay we as believers should not follow our leaders blindly or else we might find our own selves in the ditch with them.  Our spiritual eyes and ears should be open to what we see and hear in our leaders life and messages.  If you don't hear and see what is found in the bible then believer beware.  As individual believers we should read and know the word of God for ourselves it is the words of God that will give us that discernment and boldness needed so we will not be deceived and lead astray by lies.

i haven't seen any of the movies mentioned in this thread at all,   "but"  i would assume that title is referring to a believer being reborn by/of/through the Holy Ghost, not to the Holy Spirit itself being reborn !

"Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
    Nicodemus said to him,
"How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?”
    Jesus answered,
Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.
    (John 3:3-8)

I guess post we will have to both go watch the movie to really know for ourselves huh.

I was hoping for more input from others who had actually seen the movies.  I can assume a lot of different things the movie could possibly be about but not wanting to do that.

  5. Sorry but I haven't heard of these movies until know. But the one called "Holy Ghost Reborn" did raise by eyebrow as the title in itself is not taught in scripture.  The Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost never dies so how can the Holy Spirit be reborn.   The Holy Ghost (Spirit) can certainly be renewed or revived within the believers life but never reborn.   But like I said I haven't heard of these movies and obviously haven't seen any of them as the old saying goes you can't judge a book by it's cover.  But the covers do give clues of the content of what is inside.  It will be interesting to read what others have to say especially those who have actually seen any of the movies you are asking about.  blessings

I'm not sure I agree here. Is dying your hair a sin? Is surgery on your body a sin? I'm not sure where I'd draw the line based on these comments.

    God bless,

    GE

    Hi GoldenEagle

You do know that drawing the line is something that you will personally have to decide and work out for yourself.  How far will you go?  Know ye not that you are not your own that you have been bought with a price therefore glorify God "in your body".   Don't take the common sense away from the topic.  If you think it is glorifying Christ's body (which you are) to have green hair then where is God's glory in that?  If you think it is glorifying Christ's body (which you are) to take God's breath from it by refusing to have a surgery that could save your life.  Then in that decision to not have the surgery, where through your life living in this earthen vessel (house) we live in is God being glorified in that?

If we walk in the Spirit we will not fulfill the lust of our flesh.  Even having scriptures tattooed on one's body does not bring God any glory.  You can have all kind of what one would look at as good things tattooed on your body but it is only a deception as the Spirit would not lead us in that direction.   It is flesh lust driven desires that one wants for themselves and it bring's no glory to Christ's body as our body was not designed to be a note pad.   As Christ's body we have to take captive our thoughts and make them obedient to him.  If one thinks, well I'll just get a good one and be like everybody else around me and it will be alright are being lead with the deceptive thought Satan has planted in their minds somewhere along the way seeking to take you captive once again by the flesh by it's fleshly desires.

Thy Word oh LORD have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee.

But you'll have to draw your own lines and make decisions concerning Christ's body in your life, even if you are not sure you agree with me or not.  How far will you go?  I pray we would all be the true living epistles known and read by all men by the light of his Word in us.  Take care

You have to personally ask your pastor the answer to these question?  For he alone knows his mindset on the matter and the reason for his actions.  I would only be guessing if I tried to answer your questions concerning your pastors actions and words.  So I would encourage you to ask your pastor directly so there will be no more guessing of the "why's" of his action as you can lay all the guessing thoughts to rest.  Sorry I couldn't help you more on this.

Why did she not say to Pilate immediately,  at this point when hief priests and elders of the people delivered Jesus to Pontius? If she wanted no harm for Jesus...

It was revealed to Pilate's wife the night before in a dream that Jesus was a innocent man he was not guilty of any wrong doing that he was being accused of.  Pilate's wife according to the scripture suffered in her sleep as that truth was being revealed to her.  The next morning when Pilate's wife woke up she sent word to her husband Pilate what had been revealed to her in a dream concerning Jesus being an innocent man.  You can read in all four accounts found in the gospels in Matthew 27:1-26; Mark 15:1-15; Luke 22:66-23:1-25 & John 18:28 - 19:1-16 which I encouraged you to read.

Pilate conclusion was that Jesus was an innocent man after questioning and talking with Jesus himself.  Pilate told the angry crowd that he found no fault with him as Pilate washed his hands so that he wouldn't be guilty of having the blood of an innocent man on his hands.  The angry mob said back to Pilate to let Jesus's blood be on their own hands and on the hands of their children.

It was actually revealed or made known to Pilate's wife that Jesus was not guilty of any wrong doing first because of her dream.  The next morning after coming to his own conclusions having talked with Jesus it was made known to Pilate himself Jesus was not guilty of any wrong doing for he was a just man having no faults.

  9. It is important LadyKay to put on the "whole" armor of God which is found in Ephesians 6.   Each piece of the armor has a specific purpose.  The devil will come and literally fight against us in so many ways through persecution which is the devil mocking or belittling our work for God.   But we too can learn how to fight back and give the devil a black eye.

I would encourage you to study each piece of the armor of God and how they are used so that when the devil comes to distract or hinder you in any way he will have to retreat for a season.  Satan want give up and he will return for another round in the fight but you can become armed and dangerous to his kingdom.  Hope I've made some sense.

At what point did she send unto Pilate, saying, "Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him." ?

When chief priests and elders of the people had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor, at this point did she send unto Pilate?
No! But why? I mean, what'd she wait?

She sent unto Pilate at this point when he said unto them, "Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ?".

Why did she not say to Pilate immediately,  at this point when hief priests and elders of the people delivered Jesus to Pontius?

Pilate was addressing the mob who wanted to crucify Jesus who was not guilty of any crimes he was an innocent man.  It was at this point when Pilate was addressing the mob asking who they wanted to be released to them either Barrabas who was a known criminal or Jesus who was not guilty of any crimes.  That Pilate's wife at that point sent word to him.  Pilate's wife was not the one asking for the release of Barrabas but the angry mob.

The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him.But woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born.”

This is Matthew 26:24. It appears me to that it was pre ordained that Jesus would be betrayed by one of his disciples. So the doubt I have is was Judas pre ordained to be the betrayer or the role of betrayer was pre ordained and Judas chose to fill that role?( i.e. if Judas hadn't betrayed someone else of the 12 would have betrayed)

Read the prophecy of Zechariah found in Zechariah 11:12-13.

The betrayal of Jesus was foretold (prophesied) as it had been pre-ordained to happen.

  12. Getting tattoo(s) whether you are a Christian or unbeliever does the same thing to both.  It mares or marks the image of God in which mankind was created in.  Which is nothing more than the devil's work as Satan hates the image of God in each of us believers or non-believers it doesn't matter to him for the goal is the same to mark and mare the image of God in us.  It doesn't make any difference if you call them a so called Christian tattoo even it is not Christ-like at all and the image of God we were created in is still marred as a result.  Changing the image of God in any aspect we were created in referring to tattoos of any kind is a sin and repentance should be sought as a result.  Don't let the devil turn the image of God in your life into a lie.

These outfits you are showing in your first post of the thread, can not keep a woman from being raped. Rape is NOT about lust. Its about having power and control over someone else. This action is done to remove the dignity of another through violence.  Someone who decides and is determined to commit this act of violence will not be hindered by a hijab. It is false security to think that items of clothing can protect you from someone who is bent on harming you.

I understand there are countries in which it is the law to wear one, and you have no choice but to wear one. But in a country that does not require it, . . . it will not be readily worn except by those who have chosen to. Which is very very very few.  If you live in a country where it is an option to wear or not wear, and you want to wear one. That is entirely up to you.

    Ok,

I should have made it clearer.

Now the king of Aram was at war with Israel. After conferring with his officers, he said, “I will set up my camp in such and such a place.”

The man of God sent word to the king of Israel: “Beware of passing that place, because the Arameans are going down there.” 10 So the king of Israel checked on the place indicated by the man of God. Time and again Elisha warned the king, so that he was on his guard in such places.

11 This enraged the king of Aram. He summoned his officers and demanded of them, “Tell me! Which of us is on the side of the king of Israel?”

12 “None of us, my lord the king,” said one of his officers, “but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the very words you speak in your bedroom.”

13 “Go, find out where he is,” the king ordered, “so I can send men and capture him.” The report came back: “He is in Dothan.” 14 Then he senthorses and chariots and a strong force there. They went by night and surrounded the city.

15 When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?” the servant asked.

16 “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”

17 And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

This is the portion the preacher quoted. He was saying " We can visualize our future. We  can visualize our businesses booming. We can visualize the plans of our competitors and defeat them We can visualize thousands entering our church. We have been given the power to visualize and ask for it in Jesus's name and it will be done"

There was a young man who was unemployed . The preacher told him " Visualize your future. You will have success"

The name of the church is World Harvest Church..

It sounded a lot like Indian Transcendental Meditation to me...

Thank you for making it clearer for us it did help me personally to understand a lot more.

One cannot see into the spiritual realm unless God opens their eyes to see and reveal his will and plans to them.  One cannot visualize the future in any part of their life within their own accord and sight.  God has to open our eyes if he want us to see what the enemy is up to and to what our future things up ahead of the fight will be like.

This truth found with Elisha and his servant holds truth if taught right.  But mankind cannot within their own accord or our own ability foretell or visualize (using our own imaginations to do so) to reveal the future our own outcome after a spiritual battle takes place.  Only God can open our eyes and allow us to see and unless God opens our eyes we only see in vain the things we "imagine" which is not "faith" as that is not what faith is according to Hebrews 11.  Faith is not our imagination at work for man's imagination is on evil continually Genesis 6.  But faith is simply believing for something in the spiritual realm before it ever comes in the natural realm and is manifested.  Faith has nothing to do with visualizing or commanding something into being.

It all depends on how this preacher teaches this potion of scripture that is dealing with Elisha and his servant before the battle actually took place as it was revealed that in the spiritual realm that there was more in the army of God than there were in the natural or fleshly army of King Aram as he had sent a strong force of his army to capture Elisha.  The servant of Elisha woke up the next morning and saw all those soldiers all around the city and he was afraid and asked what they was going to do?  Elisha prayed to God to open his eyes so that he could see that there was more in the army of God than in King Aram's army.  That is the truth being revealed.

Visualization and using our own imaginations and wills on how things will turn out IS NOT OF FAITH.  If your preacher is teaching that it is.  Then your preacher does not have proper understanding of this scripture passage therefore his message is false.   Only God can open our spiritual eyes to see the things that are hidden from us.

Until I read the comments. People were flipping out. Saying how it was a sin, and we should be like the world, etc...

I'm a Christian, I have tattoos. In fact each of them represent a part of my walk with God. What do you think? Should Christians support tattoos? Does it matter?

What do you think Jesus would do concerning getting a tattoo on his body?   Can you genuinely answer that question honestly within yourself?  If so then you should have your answer.

Some days I wear a good bit and other days  - not so much.

And, yes, the "kohl" look has always been part of my eye makeup.  When Paul spoke of women dressing modestly, most people think he was telling them to cover up their bodies.  Yes, our bodies - both men and women - should be decently covered, but Paul was talking about dressing with propriety rather than to "show" off with "costly array, braided hair, pearls, and fine jewelry."

He didn't forbid these things, but what he was forbidding was the wearing these things and more to the point of portraying one's self as superior because of what your appearance says to others.

It's about the heart.  You can have women who wear makeup and jewelry for themselves who have good and humble hearts.  And you can have women who wear no makeup who believe themselves to be spiritually superior to others and live with a very haughty heart.

Wear it or don't.  It's strictly in individual choice of the individual woman.

If you do wear makeup and jewelry - don't allow that to be the focus of who you are as a woman and don't let that give you a haughty spirit.  If you don't wear it - don't let that lack of makeup lead you to a false humility.
