  1. M45510GIC, do you know all of this from outside study and/or were you at the Sh'ma class on Friday morning at Messiah 2003? I believe the class was at 9am with a Messianic Rabbi who I had not heard of, in Poorman Auditorium. If you were at the class, then you may have noticed a Korean young adult sitting on the right hand side of the place, a few rows from the front. That was me.
  2. Chag Semach. (Happy holiday!)
  3. If I end up hosting the seder, it's going to be small. My housemates and I, which means you're looking at 5 people. I'm actually hoping to attend someone else's seder.
  4. As I write, it's April 15th. We are less than 9 days away from the first evening of Pesach. By the time I return to the boards, after this weekend, we'll be less than a week away. In the book of Exodus, we find the Pesach story and it's first fulfillment. It's second fulfillment takes place when Yeshua celebrates His Last Seder. Something to think about.
  5. Alright, shalom y'all. It's April 6, 2005. Come the evening of April 23rd, it will be time for the first seder of Pesach 5765. So, for those of us who keep the Feast, it you have not started to get ready for it, now for be the best time to start. More later.
  6. Sh'ma Y'isra'el! ADONAI Eloheinu ADONAI Echad!
  7. There were a couple of shows on PBS about Auschwitz during the past couple of nights. Unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to watch them. Never forget. Never again.
  8. Anyone see him lately?
  9. If you have time, stop at Borders or a music store. I found a Cd there called To Life! Song of Chanukah and Other Jewish Celebrations. It's great. It has songs for most of the holidays. By the way, some of the words are in Hebrew and/or yiddish first, but they are translated into English.
  10. The horah is easy: right kick, left kick, move right foot behind the left, side. Four steps.
  11. You forgot Antiocus Epiphanes IV (I think I spelled that correctly). The Jewish people fought his larger army before Hanukkah. After they won, they went to Yerushalayim (Jerusalem), cleaned and rededicated the Temple, and restored temple worship. Hence, we have Hanukkah.
  12. The IDF (Israeli Defense Force) is the best in the world when it comes to dealing with terrorism. Thank about it: when you've been fighting against terrorism since before your land became a nation, it becomes a natural thing to teach, train, and deal with.
  13. In the Messianic Times, there should be a congregatyional directory for your state. By the way, I also have gentile blood and a Jewish heart. Gotta run.
  14. Shilo, are you part of a Messianic congregation? If not, where do you live? I have a copy of the Messianic Times that may be able to help you, even if it is about a year old. PM me.
  15. It would be great to see Paul getting back to his musical base, as that is where he really shines, with His people. Yod, can you give us any hints about what Integrity might be doing to to help messianic music from it's label sound more messianic? I know that there were a few songs from one of their messianic praise albums that I disagreeed with.
  16. Yod, you dance? That's impressive. (Not saying that I don't because I definitely do.)
  17. Alright. More people need to see this and understand how important this is, so I'm replying and putting this back on the front page. I've already lit a candle and I want to encourage others to do the same.
  18. Paul is great. I saw him the previous year, when he came to Beth Yeshua in August 2002. I caught two autographs then. Then, I saw him at the Messiah Conference in 2003. It was great.
  19. It's is www.sonofdavid.org. I'm looking at my copy of the November 2003 Messianic Times. Michael, where do you live? I'm currently in Reisterstown. Not to far from Rosh Pina. I'm meeting my new roommate, in Germantown, today, at 2. After all, I'm moving into Montgomery COunty, so that I'm closer to work. (1 hour plus each way every day is a little hard on the gas tank.) If this was a normal Sturday, I would either be helping the family right now or at services. Pictures would do. I have plenty from my time at Congregation Beth Yeshua (my home congregation) up in Philly. Unfortunately, I don't have my photos with me. Camera died before December 31, 2003. Otherwise, I would probably have gone a picture of you, at Beth Yeshua, Michael.
  20. Wait: Yod is Ted Pearce???!!! Unreal. By the way, that was the last time that I was able to get up Beth Yeshua. I was the Korean male with the kippah that fell off while I was dancing. I was sitting next to a blind man during most of the night. I've got a copy of the Messianic Times in front of me. Granted, it's the November 2003 issue, but it looks like the contact info is still good. Baruch HaShem!!! As for Kevin, all I can say is: "Amen and Amen!" Yes, we WIN!!! Do you get the feeling that we are on the verge of a huge group of Jewish people coming to Yeshua?
  21. Hey, Mr. ClickBoy, As soon as we can get a hold of him and figure out where in MD he is living, we can pass on the information about the congregations. Speaking of which, do you know Abby Mount- Burke? She attended Congregation Beth Yeshua while she was in Philly. Tell her that Eric Peters said hi. By the way, that Rockville Congregation, it wouldn't happen to be Son of David would it? I work in Montgomery County during the school year. I'm planning on moving down before the month is up, so that I'm closer to work. I would appreciate any and all help that I can get in finding and atttending Son of David. I'll keep Kevin in prayer. He probably met a friend who told him to stop being around you. We need to pray against that kind of spirit.
  22. I was forwarded this article from my College and Career Director, Hope Edelstein. Yes, she's from Beth Yeshua. It's great and really encouraging!!! In Messiah, Ani Oriole's Hitting Star Newhan David Ginsburg July 30, 2004 Long before he became this season's Baltimore Orioles hitting sensation, David Newhan was just a normal Jewish kid growing up in the Los Angeles area. He went to Hebrew school, attended synagogue with his family on Saturdays, and had a bar mitzvah ceremony and reception. Mr. Newhan, 30, says he always appreciated the Jewish religion and culture. But he wanted more. "I felt like I had a hole somewhere. I read some books on Buddhism and stuff like that," he says. "Along the way, I found that this Jesus guy is something to look at." That sentiment might come as a jolt to Jewish Orioles fans, many of whom have contacted the Baltimore Jewish Times in recent days to determine whether Mr. Newhan is Jewish, or to what extent Judaism is a part of his life. In addition, Mr. Newhan is listed as being a member of the tribe on such Jewish Web sites as Jewhoo!, which chronicles Jewish celebrities and sports figures. Mr. Newhan
  23. I found the book that I was thinking about. It's not written by a Believer, but it is good. I'm still reading through it. Its called "The Case for Israel" by Alan Dershowitz. Like I said, he's not a Believer, so I don't agree with everything he says. Then again, who does? Yod, thanks. By the way, I missed Wednesday at Conference this past year, because I thought it was going to be Kol Simcha. I made it to all of Tuesday, went home Wednesday to help the folks and came back for Thursday night to the end. There was no way that I was going to miss Paul Wilbur!!!
