I've thought about the title of this thread a little more and it's actually an excellent question... WHY HILLARY? What has she done besides put up with a cheating husband that makes us believe she is the one who should lead this country? Most of her work as a Senator has been to satisfy her liberal agenda. Anything she has done that is considered "moderate" is usually thought to be a token effort to gain points for a presidential election. And being a woman (I really don't mean to be demeaning to women) can she really gain respect from the other nations of the world? Especially the middle east nations that place women way down on their social ladder. I always felt like Madeline Albright and Condi Rice (as much as I like her) probably get rolled eyes behind their backs. Hillary may be the dems choice as a result of process by elimination. Hopefully the Republicans can put someone out there with a real track record of experience and leadership.

OK you got me. . . where do I sign up? Where were you a year ago? I am HAPPILY retired and working a degree to become an engineer. WOW.....that is really great. KUDOS!!! You must be really smart. May the Lord bless you in your academic endeavors. So, what type of engineering are you studying? Electrical, computer, electronics, mechanical, hydraulic? I studied electronics engineering, though I only made it to the tech level. It's a fascinating field. How far along are you? Thanks!! Industrial Engineering - Plant layout, Process streamlining and improvement. I'm a few hours into my sophomore year. I'm about to start a Summer II Pre-Calculus class (Trigonometry). Anybody out there good at Trig? Probably could use some help.

Joe, You're awesome! You're like the bible-bot of the discussion threads!

Retirement is awesome! I can't wait till we get to that age. Do you fish? I have been known to fish a time or too. But I'm 42 and am living off my measly retirment benefits, student financial aid, my in-laws, and my suga' mama wife (elementary school teacher) until I graduate and can take up the slack.

So sales isn't in your blood, eh? My youngest daughter loved to sell. She could sell ice cubes to eskimo's. I don't remember ever selling a single box of girlscout cookies. No, sales is definately not in my blood. I actually feel guilty asking people to buy things from me. Tupperware. . . Mary Kay. . . Amway. . . Partylite. . . Not good jobs for me. I bet your daughter takes after you. . . Actually no...that's the funny thing. I was an insurance agent for six years and failed miserably to meet the companies all-important goals of life insurance sales. I wasn't good at the emotional appeals to buy despite them being broke. The poverty rate in my area is high. That didn't matter to my company. Sell life or leave was their philosophy. So I held out as long as I could to get vested and did just that. If you ever talk to a Southern Farm Bureau agent, know his only goal is to sell you life insurance of some type. He'll be brow beaten when he gets back to the office if he doesn't.

Like I said, I would have changed some things. But I didn't see anything "harmful" perse. I never care for movies that portray an image of God and disregard Jesus myself. Of course, they are trying to appeal to all audiences including Jews, Muslims, Hindus...etc. I think you get what you get. I've never been afraid of things like this because I teach my children the truth. So they know the difference between biblical truth and Hollywood fiction.

Sadly, this is so true. The government is paying for Muslim foot baths, but Christians can't even wear a cross necklace. Where is the ACLU? You mean the Anti-Christian Liberation Union? ACLU - A Clueless Life of Unbelief

That's interesting. I am not aware of ANY muslim TV shows in America. At least not on the programming that's offered to me here in NE Texas.

I didn't mean any offense to the Girl Scouts. I'm sure it's a great fund raiser and the cookies are awesome. I was simply pointing how the company that bakes them is insulated from many of the normal challenges a cookie company faces like Keebler, Nabisco, or Sunshine. And that it must be nice.

To me, this is just additional validation of the faith. Jesus predicted this when He told the apostles that they would suffer persecution as a result of believing in Him because the world hates Him. I suppose if we rioted and killed everytime someone spoke an ill word about our faith, Jon Stewart and the likes would be hesitant about saying what they do. Yet Christians turn the other cheek, which to me, shows the fruit of humility. As Paul says in Ephesians, we battle not against flesh and blood. So in truth, Jon Stewart is being manipulated by evil spirits to say and do the things he does against Christianity.

I can't find any reason to vote for her. And your description exactly fits how liberals talk about conservatives. Not just bashing the other side, but creating fear.

Forrestkc, Would you happen to have to those figures for 1988-1999? Do they account for cost of living and rises/drops in income averages? Maybe we should see the percentages in relation to household incomes. I am not predicting anything. I'm just curious to know how they compare.

I saw Evan Almighty. It had it's funny moments with an attempt at an inspiring message as well. As most movies like this are, you have to check your brain at the door and realize it's meant for comedy. I didn't see anything about it that was demeaning towards Christianity or faith in general. If anything, they promoted prayer in a positive light. If I were a consultant on the film to advise on biblical correctness, yeah I would have made a bunch of changes. However, with so much faith bashing that seems to go on in Hollywood, it was nice to see it represented in a positive light.

Good one! And true. Obama hasn't even served one full senate term, has he? How experienced can he be? I don't think Edwards will be in much longer. I'd love to see Algore get in again, so I could see him be defeated again, either in the primary or the election. How can any Christian support a candidate who is pro-abortion, up to the moment of birth, and even after the birth has begun??? Hey Kat, Do you think David Gold would call her "Slick Willary"? Slick Hilly? For those of you who don't know, David Gold (conservative talk radio host in DFW area) commonly referred to Bill Clinton as "Slick Willy". How 'bout naming her term - The Chronicles of Whitewater: The Lyin', The Witch, and the Senate Probe ?

Hillary was already President. She needs to move on and let someone else serve.

Just a few more days 'til my savior comes.... The more we see stuff like this, the closer we get! ARE YOU READY!?!
