My lovely bride was still pure when we married. She was 24 years old. I have such respect for someone like her who refuses to compromise who she is. And please remember this: If a man wishes to have sex with you outside of wedlock, he is more likely to have sex with someone else outside of wedlock (adultery). I have heard dozens of stories of people in very poor countries who have literally only a percentage of the things we do and yet they are content and extremely happy people. It is because in their hearts and minds they have no needs except for God's provision.

When I gave my live to Christ I started focusing on how I could be a blessing to others. Then the depression went away. If you are relying on other people to make you happy, you will always be disappointed. But if you rely on God . . . . . . . . . . . . . you will never be let down.

Most Baptist churches I drive by here in the Bible belt have signs that say something like: "Consecrated in 1853" And yet the building is not even big enough to hold 100 people. Why is that? There are exceptions for sure, like the Baptist church I used to attend grew from just a few hundred members in the mid 80's to well over 15,000 members today. But like I said, those kinds of churches are the exception, not the norm. Also know that many of the SBC church plants around here aren't even using the name Baptist anymore. I can name several in the area that are SBC and yet don't use the name so they don't scare people off before they come.

And my point in what I said was that the low-fat diet has not only failed to reduce the rate of obesity in this country, it has greatly contributed to a major increase. I see what you are saying. If you want to lose weight, there really is only one way. Diet and exercise. My personal opinions are located below: Stop eating any processed/fried foods. Eat fish, clean red meat (by that I mean no pork, beef, etc. but rather eat chicken and venison/buffalo meat) veggies, fruits, and natural grain products. No white bread (bleached flour), only 100% whole grain breads. You must stop thinking of food as a pleasure item and eat only for nutrition, even if the taste isn't great. The Bible teaches that we should eat fruit, veggies, and the seeds of what we eat. I mean when you eat an apricot, crack open the husk and eat the very, very, very bitter seed inside it. It contains vitamins that aren't in the fruit. Stop eating sugars. For breakfast, I suggest eating oatmeal every day with whole grain toast. If you sweeten it any, add honey and not sugar. It is more simply and will break down faster. Gradually reduce the amount of honey you add until you can eat it with no sweetener at all. (Yes, you will be able to do it, but it will take a long time). That is just me rambling here. Take it or leave it.
