  1. Because I work during the day, I did not get to see the 'O'Donnell vs. O'Reilly Smackdown' on The View. I did, though, see highlights (lowlights?) on The Factor. Yes, the sparks did fly, alright! Rosie spewed her normal, leftist, S/P hate speech, and Bill, to his credit, calmly and respectively, responded graciously. (That REALLY ticks-off liberals!) No prods or tasers were needed- thank God- and the two agreed to disagree. They even shook hands in the end. PTL!!! Look people, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why Ms. O'Donnell espouses such hatred of Christians and God. She is trapped in a lifestyle and culture (Homosexuality) that will not let her be any other way. All we can do for her- and the thousands more like her- is to pray, and also make sure our side (God's side!) is clearly and adaquately presented whenever possible. I know that Mr. O may not be the best person out there, in many peoples estimation, to be the one defending traditional, Christian morals and values (He's a Catholic, ya know!). But God has used folks of much lower status and position through the ages to work through- He used a talking donkey once, right?- so why not? Better Bill than Joel Osteen, I say! God bless!
  2. From my research on the 'Bible Literacy Project,' they use the KJV, NKJV, and NIV versions/translations as principle texts. The Projects aim is to educate, not confuse or decieve, young people with the useless, evil, and blasphemous, so-called 'modern' translations and paraphrases of God's Word, so prevalent in today's marketplace. This, indeed, is a cause for praise! Maybe it will set some sort of precedent other states will follow, provided the satanic ACLU doesn't try and stick it's nose into it! Makes me a feel a little bit better about being a Christian Democrat. And no, that is not an oxymoronic statement! LOL! God bless!
  3. Well MikeE my original post was addressed to Christopher_John and it appears to me that all the speculations under consideration, i.e.,
  4. Okay - let me know when you find such a passage
  5. There are many disagreements within the modern Body of Christ- the Church- pertaining to doctrines and theology. But this is nothing new. History shows that even in Christ's time, there were divisions. One of the first was over the different opinions held by John the Baptizers disciples and Jesus (Matt. 9:14-17), over fasting. Many simillar , non-salvation type beliefs have always been a part of Christianity, it seems. Hence, the myriad of denominations and sects, both orthodox and reformed. This is not necessarilly a bad thing. Unless of course it leads to exclusionary teachings, ascetecism, or cult-like behaviour on the part of it's doctrinal adherants. Generally speaking, lighthearted debate between two Believers concerning, oh say, a literal seven day creation or the rapture, can be mutually edifying as well as enlightening, in many aspects. It's only when the conversation becomes confrontational or contentious that we need to back away and agree to disagree. For instance, even amongst Pentecostals, there are two different camps concerning just when the afore mentioned 'Rapture' will occur. On the one side, you have the 'pre-tribbers.' In a nutshell, they interpret Scripture- most notably 1 Thess. 4:17 & Rev. 3:10- as support for their position. What this doctrine basically is giving us is a more 'optomistic'view of the Tribulation. That being, that before anything really horrendous can happen to the church, Christ rescues us from it. There is no suffering, death, or persecution, inflicted upon us by the Antichrist because we will be long gone before any of it even begins. It's a nice thought. Afterall, who among us really is looking forward to being constsntly on the run? Always in hiding, and in fear from an evil force hell-bent on brutally and viciously tearing you limb-from-limb, just because you remained faithful to Jesus and refused to take the mark of the beast? Not many, I'm sure. Bottom line? I feel it's one possible way it could happen, and there are many more Scriptures than the two mentioned that seem to point in the direction of it happening this way. But wait... On to the other camp, the 'mid-tribbers.' These folks believe, and rightfully so, we will be 'raptured' at the mid-point of the seven year period of the Tribulation. This theory is a bit more pessimistic than the pre-trib one, in that the church will have to endure three-and-a-half years of being "handed over" to the Antichrist. Of being hunted, violently persecuted, imprisoned, and murdered, for not bowing our knee to him. During this time, we will be considered crimminals, haters, and heretics, because he will have taken over the world's governments and also proclaimed himself to be god (rev. 13:7 & Dan. 9:27). This view is also very plausable, perhaps even a bit more so than that of a pre-trib Rapture because there seems to be far more Scriptures alluding to this scenario than any other. Plus, we are still taken out before God's full wrath upon the earth is un-leashed. However, at the end of the day (Pardon the pun!), we must ask ourselves some very important questions about all of this: Will our speculations and beliefs on when Christ comes back for us, cause anyone to loose their salvation? Is our "blessed hope" (Titus 2:13-14) diminished in any way if there is a disagreement in this matter? Isn't it better if we just give glory and praise to God that one day (SOON!), we will all be "caught up" into His presence- no matter WHEN that will be? I know what my answers are to these questions, what are yours? and if we don't agree...does it really matter in the end? Until next time, God bless... In Christ, MikeE 2 Tim. 4:1-4
  6. This......is just mind blowing!!! I don't usually put much stock in 'conspiracy theories.' Generally because they contain too little HARD evidence, and far too much bias and personal feelings on the part of the theorist(s). However, in this case the pictures speak for themselves, as do the FACTS. I highly recommend everyone to check this out and tell as many people as possible about it! It is a scathing expose' of the liberal media, and it's anti-Isreal slant on news and events from that region. I knew it was bad, but this opened my eyes even more than before. "Let God be true and every man a liar." Rom. 3:4 God bless... In Christ, MikeE
  7. Wow, what a question. My problem is just where to start. Hmmmmm....well, first off, you need to lovingly let the Grandmother know her actions in this reguard are unwelcome. You are this child's parent, and therefore are the one, along with your spouse, responsible for their upbringing, spiritual and otherwise, not her. Second, you might give some serious consideration as to weather this grandmothers influence on your child is in their best interest. If the child is too young to discern what the Grandmother is telling them is un-true, this could cause confusion. God knows there's enough of that in the world already. No need to add to it where your little one is concerned. Lastly, yes, the JW's ARE a cult. The evidence supporting this fact is overwhelming. I hope and pray that this might help you in some way. God bless... In Christ, MikeE 2 Tim. 4:1-4
  8. For me, it's the NIV. Mine is a study Bible, which helped me A LOT at first, because I was just seeking truth and facts as to weather or not the whole "Jesus thing" was legit. Praise be to God, He opened my eyes, softened my heart and revealed Himself to me in a way I never could have imagined possible! There is one caution I would like to offer anyone who might be reading this. It's not about the NIV, but on The Message 'bible.' It IS NOT the word of God, nor was it intended to be by it's author. I have read it and found it to be a VERY watered down, New Age, 'seeker sensitive,' version of what a mere man thinks it says and means. I strongly urge everyone to keep it in it's proper perspective. God bless... In Christ, MikeE 2 Tim. 4:1-4
  9. Join the club, my dear! TBN is a ministry of, and by, satan. Paul Crouch has the spirit of anti-christ in him, and his network daily leads thousands of unsuspecting people further down the path to hell and away from the true Gospel of Christ and Him cricufied (1 Cor. 1:23). He is, in my opinion and according to Scripture, preaching a false gospel and another Jesus (Gal. 1:6-9). He and his minions- like Benny Hinn, Paula White, John Hagee, etc.- are getting rich off of the poorest of the poor in this country and the world with their 'gospel of prosperity' and "sowing" of seed into THEIR ministry. The only "kingdom" this is advancing is Mr. Crouch's, not God's. As Jesus said, "Do not be decieved," dear Daughter. These people have sold their souls- knowingly or not- to the devil, in exchange for riches and fame in THIS world and NOT for the one to come. I strongly believe this word is from the Lord! Amen. Stand strong! That "other part" of you was undoubtedly the Holy Spirit telling you that this woman and what she was telling you to do was NOT of God. Don't forget, the enemy knows the Bible even better than we do, and will try and use it against us whenever he can. Remenber how the serpent tried to use God's Word against Christ in the garden? So just because you felt that Ms. White's message was for you, which probably is true, it obviously was not coming from the Lord. You want to be faithful to God and "bring something to the table for Him to multiply?" Give to your church. Give to missions. Give it to the homeless man or woman on the street!. It doesn't matter even how much. Then, just stand back and watch as the Lord rewards you and multiplies you, all because of your faithfulness to Him and not in mere men. God bless... In Christ, MikeE 2 Tim. 4:1-4
  10. Weather or not the Genesis account of creation was written in poetic form, it still doesn't take anything away from the fact that God created the universe in a LITERAL seven day period. To say it was done any other way is an insult to the Lord and a blasphemous denial of the inerrancy of His Word. True, it does not have too much to do with one's salvation, unless someone who professes to be a Christian denies the creation account in favor of the satanic lie of evolution. Then, one might have a HUGE problem as to their relationship with God and Christ! I've heard it said, and rightly so, that all the devil has to do is to make a Believer doubt even one small part of God's word, and he has won. The best example of this is found in- where else!- Genesis, when satan causes Eve to doubt that God has said what He said about the forbidden tree and it's fruit. See what I mean? Any way, that's my opinion. I could go on about how the 'modern church growth movement,' the Catholic church, 'seeker friendly (Rick Warren),'and the 'emergent church,' have all done this, and (unfortunately) have been quite successful at it, but that would take up far more time than I have right now. So, until next time..... God bless. In Christ, MikeE 2 Tim. 4:1-4
