  1. and yet when anyone suggests theres options other then drugs out there, theyre completly laughed at. . .
  2. people are actually panicking, for no good reason. In reality, unless you take someone by surprise, a small folding knife isn't actually much of a threat. In a head to head encounter, I could easily disarm someone with a knife that small-and I don't have much formal hand to hand training, and 2.3 inches isn't enough to do serious damage in a stabbing. It would have to be sneak up from behind and get someone in the throat or something similar, beyond that they pose a limited threat, especially in a tight area where you can see your attacker coming. Unlike a box cutter, which uses a razor blade, which pretty much only has to touch someone to open the skin. With a pocket knife, a slashing manuever is unlikely to even break the skin-it has to be a direct stab to do anything, which is pretty easy to fend off, if you can see it coming-and the problem is on an airplane you will see it coming. People really need to think through the actual risks. yes, the TSA has gotten extremely stupid in their over safety-such as yogurt and searching 3 year olds in wheel chairs. They finally do something that makes sense, and everyones going into a panic attack over it.
  3. not happening. . .especially not this fast. The technology maybe there, but the will is not. . .
  4. Said good riddance to mine 6 months after converting to Christianity and never looked back. I knew that it was full of garbage I shouldn't be watching that I had previously enjoyed thoroughly. Romans always comes to mind. Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. way to take a passage out of context. That passage is referring to people who refuse christianity and pursue their own lustful desires and sins, instead. Can TV fall into this category? yes. But not all TV is-there is still some good, clean television out there-such as duck dynasty. There are also several shows that while arnt "christian" are clean. and to come out and say all TV is evil, and that everyone who watches it, seems to speak just a bit of pride if you ask me. So you choose to attack my character. Nice move Pat. That is a pivotal move by anyone who is cut by that which is said. Just ask David's brother. Of course I never said all TV was evil. I said that I was watching a lot of things that I knew I should not be watching and chose to get rid of my TV all together. Maybe you want to go back and read what I wrote? I did say that the TV was full of garbage. I did not say that the TV only has garbage on it. Cheers. It wasnt an attack on your character, however, looking back on that, I can see where one could think I was, and I do apologize, please forgive me-it really was not intended as such, one of those speak before I think type deals. Now, let me rephrase my argument. I got the impression that you were arguing that all tv was "evil" and that we should not be watching it, and it came across as a "you shalt not watch tv" using that one verse, which I feel was taken a bit out of context, especially if we were just to take the one verse-which is what led to my misunderstanding of your initial post. Again, I apologize for offending you-I know I have a tendency to be brash in my debating, and usually I think through my replies and edit multiple times before pushing the post button. This was one of the times I did not, and it was foolish of me. I am sorry.

  6. reality tv shows stink, often for that same reason-to many cusswords, not clean, etc. With one exception, go duck dynasty!
  7. well, your not making much of a point here john-but as been pointed out they are merely tools-and these alone arnt enough to quell a civil war. in reality, 2700 is nowhere near high enough-enough for swat teams and police forces to get them for actual police work, but to enforce martial law, theyre just plain not enough there. So if your going to make a point, then you need to make one based on actual evidence-and not straws.
  8. yes, but in reality, not a big deal here either. Our police agencies across the nation already use armored vehicles (such as swat) in big cities. And look at the numbers, 2700? that might work if you wanted to invade a state, but not on a huge global civil war, which is what the C/Ts will be saying. Plus, Im sure, just like the ammo, if you look at the delivery dates, they wont even be delivered completly till after Obamas out of office.
  9. haha looks like an awesome ride assuming you dont get squished against a reef.
  10. lol and people look at me funny when I tell them that cats, especially the larger ones, have no fear of humans. . .
  11. Add into the fact that according to that ground penetrating radar, they found a large amount of water beneath it-which is most likely a underground river-if the guy managed to live through the sinkhole, and fell in that, not only did he drown, he could be miles and miles away.
  12. I have heard this "RFID" chip conspiracy multiple times over the last year. And in every case, the op cannot find any factual support for it, and its ridiculous. First off it is NOT slated to be put in humans in march. That Is an outright lie. If its not, then prove it. Give us a source. Second, even if they do, so what? What's so evil about it? Its NOT the mark of the beast. The mark of the beast will be something implemented worldwide. Moving to Australia won't allow us to avoid it. A locally implemented RFID chip would be an invasion of privacy but not the mark.
  13. interesting movie. Though, Id like to point out some inconsistencies that Ive seen. First off, it goes through trumpets 1-3 and lists them, and then goes through and lists some natural disasters. Though it doesn't come out and say it, the creators are linking the two- the inferrence is that the natural disasters, these "signs" from God so to speak, are part of the first 3 trumpets, and secondly, that all natural calamities have to be "signs" from God. Im going to address the first inconsistency first. None of the natural calamities match what the Bible says about the first 3 trumpets. Sure, theres droughts here and there, but we havent seen 1/3 of the trees, or even our fresh water source, disappear anywhere. In fact, in some areas like where I live, there are easily 2-3 times more trees then there were 100 years ago. So its prettty apparent, that they haven't sounded yet. Secondly, they showed that natural disasters can be a sign from God-but thats not saying that they all are. In fact, I think natural disasters are just that, natural. I believe God can use these for His own good-and in some cases are signs and warnings against people, and the mere fact theyre happening are a sign of Gods power, but I believe most of them are just part of how the world works.
  14. I think a lot is normal, we just notice it more now. Believe it or not, there are a lot of underground cavities, many natural from dried up river beds, volcanic activity, etc, and some not so natural such as underground mining (probably not the case here though, being florida and how close they are to sea level its probably normal) Just in the past a lot of these sinkholes happened out in the middle of nowhere and no one saw them happen, and didnt even realize they did happen till after the fact, but civilization has been spreading more and more, more houses more streets, and statistically the chances of a house being over one of these sinkholes goes up the more houses are made-whats surprising is that more haven't happened, especially in areas like florida.
  15. sinkholes open up all the time, believe it or not, this one just happened to open up under a house.
  16. No, it's not okay to arm anyone, anywhere (except Israel) and no one is taking our guns away. We need to get a perspective here......months ago the administration faced major flack for NOT helping these alleged 'rebels'. My guess? The ones we arm today will turn those weapons on our soldiers in the near future. We should REMAIN outside their internal issues and let them do what our ancestors did.....overthrow their government themselves. Spoken by someone who honestly has no clue about firearms, or current events. Feinstein has, herself said her ultimate goal is a total gun ban-they just know a total gun ban wont work, so they will simply take away from our rights little by little.
  17. Apparently one isn't reading the news. They are after our guns.
  18. I think the difference is that Syria is a country where the Government has been shelling cities with artillery whereas America has things like a COnsitution and Laws and Courts and Legal Process. Yes we have those, which incidently Obama and his cronies are also trying to get rid off
  19. Does paintbrush not work for him? If your after a professional quality, sometimes its best to pay, but if you don't need quite that fancy, gimp http://www.gimp.org/ or openoffice http://www.openoffice.org/ might do what he needs to.
  20. So, its ok to arm everyone else, so they can fight for their freedom, but its not ok for us to have weapons to protect our freedom. Typical.
  21. the term mazzaroth appears in Job 38:31-32 and a similar word mazalot is found in 2 kings 23-3-5. Neither of which I think were actually prophetic in nature. The heavens do indeed speak of God, and the marvels of His creation-they are, in themselves, signs of God-and they may even be used for signs of the end times, but when we get to saying "certain" constellations are signs of the end times, or this space event means this Biblical prophecy must be true-especially when all your using is terms that arn't even used prophetically in the Bible, were getting into astrology. May not be our intent, but thats exactly what were doing. Instead, maybe we should look more towards what Jesus said in Matthew 16:4: 4 mAn evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah.” So nhe left them and departed. Im not saying that we should necessarily ignore everything the Bible says about the end times. God included all that in the Bible for a reason, but we shouldn't let that be our focus. We know that Christ is coming back-we don't know when. One of my favorite star wars quotes goes like this: "but master yoda said we should be mindful of the future" "but not at the expense of the present" While, im not necessarily promoting star wars, this is a concept we as christians need to remember. Often times, we get to caught up in the end times, looking for signs, and arguing over which end time view is right, and whether this is a sign of God or not, and it can be divisive. The thing about Biblical prophecy is people don't often see it until after its been completled, because we can't see the big picture. What we need to focus on, instead of looking for all these signs-we should be looking for souls. We need to be ready every day, we need to plan for tomorrow-but be ready to day, we need to be mindful of the future, but not at the expense of the present.
  22. “The irony of the proposed law is that its blatant use of extortion — by holding nonprofit groups financially hostage — instills its own form of discrimination by trampling” individual and organizational religious beliefs, wrote Lori Arnold, a research analyst for the California Family Council. Enough said.
  23. the tower of babel was a problem, because man was aspiring to be God basically (same problem mankinds had since adam and eve) so God scattered the people. Same problem, different people.
