    Child's Salvation

The first thing to know about the child is if that child is able to understand the full extent of 1) The sacrifice of Jesus, 2) The love of God and 3) the full extent of what happens for rejecting Jesus. While a young child cannot understand the full consequences of this rejection the child will not be held to a decision for or against. In other words, this child is innocent in God's eyes. However, a teenager can understand full well the consequences of that rejection and will be held fully responsible for those actions. At what age does this take place? It is different for each child. God knows the heart of the child, and the mind as well. To throw another thought into this mix, what if a person is 40 years old but has a limited IQ and has the mind of a 4 year old? Once again, God know our hearts. He knows that a child of 4, no matter what physical age, cannot comprehend the full consequences of the decision for or against Christ. Thanks for the clear explanation.
  3. If a child dies before being saved do they go to hell?
  4. I was baptised an Anglican when I was a baby. I went to a Presbyterian church when I was an adult but didn't agree with some doctrines being taught there (Holy Laughter etc...) so I left and now I'm attending and was baptised in a Baptist church. Denomination doesn't matter to me just what they teach or emphasise on
  5. I agree with you partly here. I've been taught that for a church to claim itself to be Christian they need to agree with Essential Doctrines. Which are Deity of Christ, Salvation by grace, the resurrection of Christ and The Gospel. Take the Mormons for example. They deny the Deity of Christ. They teach (or used to) that God was a man who had carnal relationships with Mary who then conceived Christ who exalted into Godhood because he led a perfect Godly life. I also don't see what the difference is between the Mormon Prophet and the Catholic Pope. I believe we as Christians should be concerned about salvation and if someone isn't saved and are just being religious we should be ready to tell them about the Good News.
  6. My daughter goes to a catholic school. Mass is part of the school programme. I have a lot of respect and admiration for the Catholics. All bible teachings she comes home with agrees with what we believe. They seem to teach what All churches can agree with. I don't like denomination bashing. It annoys me. There are doctrines I don't agree with in the Catholic Church but I won't get discuss it here. But when a church does teach against a particular church I personally think they 1st need to make sure what they say that church teaches is what they teach and 2nd to use the Bible, not their own opinion. In the end of the day God is in control. God Bless
  7. I found myself ready to make amends with this girl because I know the lesson upset her a bit. She also said some of what was said about her church is not what she has been taught. If her family knew what was said I know they'll ban her from coming back. On the positive side today my daughter came home from school and said her friend said she preferred our church because of the friendliness. Please continue praying for her. She could very well be on the way to salvation.
  8. I went to church this morning only leaving to be apologetic to our visitor. Our daughter brought her friend to church. She was a young catholic youth whose family is very active in their faith. The lesson was on the AntiChrist and a few minutes were spent telling us that Catholics weren't saved. Even though I don't disagree with what most of what was said I don't understand why sometimes they just like putting down the other denominations(false or otherwise). Shouldn't there be a focus on bringing others to Christ and proclaiming what the Bible says. Wouldn't it be better to teach false doctrines that get taught, by using the power of the Word to refute those ideas. She was offended and talked about to us how some of what was said about Catholics was wrong. I doubt the church will see this young youth again.
  9. Sorry Good Topic though.
  10. Also there are all the prophecies that was fulfilled in the coming of Christ. His birth date in Daniel 9 :25-26 His birth place in Micah 5:2 There is a prophecy of him being born of a virgin and how he dies is given in incredible detail in Isaiah 52-53. This includes the prophecy of he died with robbers There are hundreds more. I find it hard to believe that these could just happen by chance. But then I'm not an evolutionist.
  11. I'll be praying for you
  12. A friend has come to ask me for some advice. I'm not sure what to say so just want some biblical advice on this. Here's the situation Boy meets Girl (both unbelievers) Boy marries Girl Boy and Girl divorces Girl gets saved Boy marries Girl 2 Boy gets saved Girl 2 divorces Boy Boy wants to remarry Girl Girl undecided My question is what biblical advice would you give her? (Please include bible references). Thanks
  13. I don't understand why some are saying that we shouldn't read anti-christian books. I have belonged to a group where we weren't advised to read any anti material on them because it would lead us away from God. Praise the Lord that I did and that is how I walked away from a Cult and eventually became saved. I haven't read the book so I can't really comment. If you've been led to read this book by God I believe that your faith may strengthen through your questioning and maybe God is preparing something for you. I'll be praying for you God Bless
  14. I wouldn't advise it. Even if sin didn't occur, it could give both of you a reputation.

    Christmas/Birthdays

If God doesn't want us to celebrate Birthdays, then why did he make birthday cake? Seriously, if God didn't want us to celebrate Christ's birthday, why did he lead the wisemen from the east to celebrate Christ's birthday in the Bible? Why did Jesus scald his apostles when they objected to the woman who poured expensive perfume on his feet? Jesus is worthy of such attention. You are Correct. The Jehovah Witnesses are wrong. I got this information from a Christian group "SermonAudio" No, there's nothing evil about having a pagan origin. There is something evil about wanting to return things to their pagan origins. Help keep Christ in Christmas.
  16. I've a question about Christmas. I understand it was to substitute a Pagan Holiday. I've also heard that Christians shouldn't celebrate it because God doesn't want us to celebrate birthdays anyway. I see Christmas as a great time to spread the Good News and I don't understand the birthday argument. Even though to my understanding the Pagan Link to Christmas has some reality is it necessarily evil?
