WN: Huckabee: 'A new day in American politics' - USA Today
salos replied to WorthyNewsBot's topic in U.S. News
We had fun at the Iowa caucus last night. There was a huge turnout. It was just like the Des Moines Register says, long lines, way too few chairs, barely enough standing room. http://www.desmoinesregister.com/apps/pbcs...03047/1001/NEWS There were some good three minute talks given for four of the candidates. There were a lot of young adults there participating. The first talk was given by a someone who is 17.5 years old. He did a good job. Huckabee's support was overwhelmingly from the Christian conservatives. It was great to see so many turn out. -
Not really. Their rate of fooling around wasn't that much different from today's. Gotta read the research. The opportunities of African Americans are a lot better now. I remember segregated schooling and dining. That was awful. As far as a time to live, I think now because of technological and medical advances and because this is the time God chose for us.

What's the best Witnessing Story you can tell from your own experi
salos replied to MeCajunboy's topic in General Discussion
One of the coolest salvation stories I ever read was about a boy who preached himself into the kingdom. There was a group of children who were playing church, and this fellow went up front and started talking like he had heard preachers talk. After a while his words reached his heart. He turned around, prayed, and was saved. -
Mansoor Ijaz wrote an interesting article on Bhutto. Here is a portion: "I knew Benazir well. I am often blamed by her supporters for having helped bring her government down in 1996 by exposing her hypocrisy and corruption in two Wall Street Journal Op-Ed pieces. We remained in touch over the years after she went into exile, even developing a begrudging respect for each other over time. She struck me as a terribly conflicted person who deep in her heart wanted to save Pakistan from its evils, but was unable to put her personal lifestyle choices aside in doing so. But I firmly believe that she loved Pakistan, and for all her faults, had returned there this time to turn a new page in its troubled political history. We should remember her for her courage to stand up in the face of incalculable odds to bring some semblance of sanity to the disaster that Pakistan has become." http://www.csmonitor.com/2007/1228/p09s01-coop.html She was a courageous and intelligent woman.

Maybe today they will have more solid news. I feel so bad for those injured, for everyone's families and friends. -
Episcopal Diocese Secedes From Church

It's better to lose the church property than to lose in their children to false teaching. I'm so proud of this diocese for making this break. -
WN: Rise a surprise to all but Huckabee - Washington Times

I'm interested. There are a lot of candidates I appreciate, but there's been no one I felt I could really get behind. -
The #1 place to get nasty staphs is hospitals. So don't go to a hospital unless you must, and if you are a patient, try to make sure everyone washes their hands before they touch you or your stuff.

I just saw your note that your daughter made it to a safe location. I'm so glad.

Any fellow Kids Sunday School teacher's out there?
salos replied to luckylexy's topic in General Discussion
It is the responsibility of the pastor and the deacons to establish orderliness in the church. You need to take the matter to them. Then they can pray, talk to the parents, supply extra helpers, or whatever else is needed to turn things around. Good luck!!!!! -
"I Rejoice At Thy Word, As One That Findeth Great Spoil." Ps
salos replied to bhakthi's topic in General Discussion
Great reminder. Thanks! BTW, why do people say David wrote this psalm? The Bible doesn't say who wrote it. -
It is great that there are so many ways to give. What works for one person will be different from what works for someone else. A kind word can mean so much. Encouragement for young people can help get them get going in the right direction in life. Financial giving is great when it's done responsibly.

A private business has the right to check out people who want to enter their establishment.

Suzanne, thanks for your excellent post.

Ryal, I was pretty immature when I was your friend's age. Some people take a while to come of age emotionally and spiritually.
