  1. The answer to you question is that we can either accept God or we can deny Him. Life is in the tongue. About your father. I strongly suggest that you get to him or call him continually and be telling him about why he needs to repent and get saved. If he runs you off that is his choice but you will have no guilt if you do this since you would have done all you could. I will pray for you to do the right thing and him to listen.
  2. I would take issue with that answer. That makes it all about me and my wants. In other words seeking a certain type of eternal life. Life is about living for and serving the Lord.
  3. My guess is that we all have done this more then once. Our tongues sets the world on fire. The answer to your question is that you might be seeking something that you will never get. You stated that you did all you could. You sought forgiveness. Now simply move on. If this person has forgiven and you see him again he will act as nothing happened and you can be friends. If he has not forgiven then the ball is in his park. Simply pray for him and leave it alone, but do not keep trying to win forgiveness by trying buy it. I see parents doing this. Sometimes they fail their children miserably and they continually seek forgiveness while the whole time the child is using them. You have done all that can be done except pray for him. Move on and learn from the lesson. God bless.
  4. Here is a modern day article on the subject. It makes clear the facts about circumcism rather then the wives tales of past generations. http://www.noharmm.org/separated.htm
  5. Then you should be able to post the information, RIGHT? I posted information how about you doing the same if you say there is some other? Long before the American Academy of Pediatrics issued its first policy statement on circumcision, the practice was well established in the Judeo-Christian tradition. Thousands of years later, in 1971, the Academy acknowledged the historical tradition, but found "no absolute medical indication for routine circumcision." This position was maintained until 1989, when the Academy's evaluation of then-recent data led to the belief that "medical benefits, as well as risk" were associated with newborn circumcisions. In 1999, as a result of new research, the Academy modified its position and while acknowledging potential medical benefits, clearly stated that these benefits were not sufficient to cause the Academy to recommend routine circumcision. When ever you see a the medical people go back and forth in such a short time you know that they are all wet. http://www.expectantmothersguide.com/library/philadelphia/circumcision.htm
  6. all those statements are TOTALLY false. Those are all old wives tales that has been totally debunked. Go here if you want the truth http://www.nocirc.org/
  7. This is not simply a teen issue. More and more people are being falsely led to believe that they can get saved without repentance or being told repentance is being sorry with confession. Repentance is a turning to God without measure. Also they are being told that faith is something it is not. This is all spoken of in scripture as we draw near the coming of the Lord.
  8. Actually it is not the same. A shot and surgery are very different. Also any reactions to a shot are so rare that it is not even worth mentioning. There needs to be a clear reason for doing something or not doing something, not simply a whim. Doctors claim there is no pain in the process of circumcising a new born. I suppose that is why they ALL scream bloody murder. That being said even if there was no pain at all there still should be a clear logical reason to do any surgery. Not simply because I think it is best without information.
  9. Advice is fine. False claims are not. There is no known health issues where being circumcised can prevent. There may be other issues that make it wise but not falsely claimed health issues. It is a very profitable surgery for the Doctors however.
  10. what health reasons? Uncircumcised males are more prone to infections and STDs, from what I've read. Remember, this is just what I've read. Christians are not required to do this for religious reasons but doctors usually recommend it being done as soon as possible rather than leaving open the possibility of traumatizing a boy (or man) who might have to have it done later in life. You should discuss this with your pediatrician right away. That claim was debunked years ago. May I suggest that you go to the link I gave and watch the short video of a doctor.
  11. Should this procedure be done today to our new born? Is it our right to do to our children? Is it an obligation? Should this be done for cleanliness reasons? Should this be done for religious reasons? Everyone might want to go here and watch the video. http://www.nocirc.org/
  12. Yes I think so. Do you think that Jesus had personal satisfaction in what He did? Or felt self honor? Or needed a sense of self worth? I don't think so. While I was opposed to the idea at first that all pride is sin I am now leaning that such is true. I hear people say that they are proud to be an American. That is pride and it IS sin. This was the best response; I think anything that lifts us up rather then God is pride and that is sin. Jer 9:23 Thus says the LORD: "Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches; Jer 9:24 But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the LORD, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight," says the LORD
  13. I think being thankful and being proud are two different things totally. I can be thankful for the food the Lord gives me, but it is very difficult in calling thankfulness for my children when it is actually pride in the areas that they succeed. I don't boast about my food, but I may boast about my child. That is pride. When I first heard this man teach this in the lesson I was opposed to it, but the more I dwell on it I have to admit that all pride may very well be sin. Even in those times when I try one of those politically correct answers and call it being thankful or something else. I admit that this is difficult because we are a prideful people, me included. Most likely this is simply something else that I need to deal with in light of scripture. I was moved by the answer that josh-13 gave. In every case scripture must rule. God bless.
  14. Recently in a morning bible study the teacher stated that all pride is sin. I challenged him on it and asked if he was proud of his children and he said no. By the way his children and grandchildren are ALL involved in the Lord's work. My question is this. Is all pride a sin? You might want to look up the definition of pride and proud.
  15. You have to go to Joel and read the intire message. This happens after the tribulation which is part of the last days.
  16. The Lord Jesus Christ clearly said in Matthew 12:38-40 that He would spend "three days and three nights in the heart of the earth," just as Jonah had spent "three days and three nights" in the belly of the great fish. Isn't it strange, however, that almost universally throughout Christendom we find that the remembrance of Christ's crucifixion is held on "Good Friday" and that His resurrection is acknowledged as occurring on Sunday morning, at dawn? By no stretch of the imagination or masterful manipulation of Scripture is it possible to stretch the period from Friday evening to Sunday morning into "three days and three nights"! The following articles corrects this misconception with clear biblical truth. PT 1 http://www.gerald285.com/view/?pageID=312559 PT 2 http://www.gerald285.com/view/?pageID=313553

  18. What ever happened to modesty? Not in the world, but in the church. I would invite you to read the atricle at http://www.gerald285.com/view/?pageID=113067 and see what real modesty requires. And I would invite you to listen to a message by C. J. Mahaney called "The Soul of Modesty" at http://www.sermonaudio.com/sermoninf...ID=12908209345 What I see in the churches today is in great part the fault of the men. The husbands, fathers, and leaders have turned their back on the call to modesty and to the call to lead so we have, I am afraid, immodesty running wild.

    ENDA

ENDA: Work place is the Wrong Place for Sexual Politics Let your U.S. senator know you oppose ENDA May 6, 2008 The Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) has passed the U.S. House and Senator Edward Kennedy is now leading the push for a vote in the U.S. Senate. ENDA is aimed at providing heightened protections for a particular sexual behavior - homosexuality. It would grant special consideration on the basis of "sexual orientation" that would not be extended to other employees in the workplace. ENDA violates employers' and employees' Constitutional freedoms of religion, speech and association. The proposed legislation would prohibit employers from taking their deeply held beliefs into account when making personnel decisions. This would pose an unprecedented intrusion by the federal government into people's lives. ENDA would approvingly bring private behavior considered immoral by many into the public square. By declaring that all sexual preferences are equally valid, ENDA would change national policy supporting marriage and family. It's obvious that the real agenda behind the innocuously named Employment Non-Discrimination Act is a push to enshrine homosexuality in national policy. This dangerous legislation would dramatically expand the government's reach into your work place and create unnecessary work-place conflicts and lawsuits. ENDA is a sweeping employer mandate to create special new legal protections based on "sexual orientation" (or "perceptions"). Take Action! Send an e-mail to your U.S. senator http://capwiz.com/afanet/issues/alert/?ale...606&type=CO and ask him or her to oppose ENDA. It's especially important for lawmakers to hear from business owners and associations. Please help us get this information into the hands of as many people as possible by forwarding it to your family and friends.
