First, I think you need to know that all addictions have a physical component which is caused by a mental component. For example, if you are watching porn, ( I am not saying you are, I use the word if) then your act of watching is stimulating the pleasure center of your brain. Now this process is not passive. Anything that one does repetitively trains the brain. In this example the brain is trained to respond to the visual stimulation. The way to un-train the brain is to either withdraw the stimulation and/or to substitute other stimulation for the first. Withdrawing the stimulation can be done by waiting before you "give in" to your addiction. If you want a "hit", wait an hour. The desire may lessen or go away completely. The key is to continually increase the time between the onset of the desire and the satisfaction of the desire. Smokers who want to quit slowly increase the time between cigarettes. This is a weaning process for the brain. Substituting other stimulation for the first is also effective. However one needs to properly pair the substitution stimulus to the addictive stimulus. Exercise works as a counteraction to many addictive stimuli. Combine this advice with your regular prayer. If necessary get professional help. A life lived in shame is not a good one.

This may be harsh, but you need counseling. You are an unwed mother living with a man much older than yourself and you need to ask yourself "Why?" There are Christian counseling centers in almost every town in America and you need to find one. You have more problems than your pregnancy and you need help sorting through them. Buddhist do not worship any god. They are not pagans. Muslims revere the Bible, consider Jesus Christ a holy man of God and consider Jews, Christians and Muslims all "people of the book". Just some minor corrections.

I saw this on Fox & Friends this morning. They read some e-mails sent to them in response to Boxer's comments. So you know who were the most offended by her statements? American soldiers. My husband is a retired disabled Marine with two tours in Viet Nam. He is offended by this war! Fox selected letters from some soldiers. I wonder, and so should you, how many Fox received from soldiers who don't support this war and are doing their duty anyway. If soldiers supported this war, then why are we having critical retention problems among junior officers and senior enlisted? Pull you head out of your armpit and watch something besides Fox News.

You want a plan for victory? Are you kidding? No one has ever conquered Iraq and held it. Why do you think George Senior stopped at the boarder? The Sunnis and Shias have been fighting each other since 20 years after Mohomed died. We should never have gone in there and we will be lucky to get out without further destabilizing the whole area. Plan for victory indeed!

I just posted this on another thread but it applies here as well. Religious spam no matter how well intentioned will not bring Jesus back. It is the actions of each of us that brings Jesus back today into our hearts. "Even if the thoughtless can recite many of the scriptures, if they do not act accordingly, they are not living the holy life, but are like a cowherd counting the cows of others. Even if the faithful can recite only a few of the scriptures, if they act accordingly, having given up passion, hate, and folly, being possessed of true knowledge and serenity of mind, craving nothing in this world or the next, they are living the holy life."

I believe the problem is in linear thinking and assuming that God thinks this way. As I see it, we are born and at frequent times in our lives, daily, minute by minute, we make decisions. Before the decision is made all things are possible. God may see all things as possible in the future, but it is only when we decide and take action that one possibility comes into existance. Each decision we make takes us down a path of new possibilities. For example, I catch a moth in my home and instead of killing it, I let it go. This act of kindness softens my heart and makes it easier for me to be kind to the next creature and as well as being kind to the next person I meet. I chose to be kind. I could have killed the moth and perhaps my heart would have hardened a bit more and I would not see all creatures and creations of God. I chose to be unkind. Until I make the decision, God sees both actions as equally possible.

Perhaps it He creates people whom he knows are going to hell to see if things can change.
