  1. I know this might sound kind of odd and expensive, but it's the only way that I'm sure that there won't be another school shooting.

We should put up fences around the schools in a way that prevents them to climb or dig through the fence. We should then put security guards at the gates, and have everyone who enters the school check in with the security guards.

Every few hours, we could have a few other security guards to look around these fences, just in case someone has or is working on getting through the fence. If someone did get through with a weapon, just for safety, they should evacuate the school.

  2. Thanks Irrysa. You know, I might even grow up to become a coach. (not a hired coach, but probably just a buddy basketball coach, a "volunteer coach", like my dad was) I then instead of yelling at my players, I would comfort them, and hopefully I would be a good example to them. (Hopefully)

One sport that I like a lot is soccer. The reason I think I like it is because the coaches I had in my high school this year only yelled when we argued with our teammates, which I completely agree they should. Arguing with ourselves would tear our team to pieces. We wouldn't win a game. Other than that, my coaches don't yell and don't like to yell. I thank god for that.

  3. I don't call yelling any type of motivational speaking. I call supportive talk motivational speaking.

An example is when I made a mistake for this one coach that kept yelling at me, he always kept reminding me that I was "killing the team", and that always put me down. When I made a mistake and my own dad was the coach, he would just say "That's in the past. You're doing good in this basketball game. Keep it up." As a matter of fact, when I look at how I played for those two coaches, I notice that I was much better for my dad (who comforted me) than the coach that yelled at me. My dad's supportive talking also helped me feel good about myself, and made me want to work harder.

I guess that's how god created me.

  4. First of all, thanks for all of the replies. I think I understand what I should do now. I'll continue to practice playing basketball, and if I don't like it as much as I thought I did, or if I don't even make the high school team, that's still okay. It's god's will. I know no matter what, I will always find happiness in god's will, even if it goes against mine. Thanks again for the replies. (I might not even play for the high school. Our high school has coaches that yell at the players, and I hate playing for those kind of coaches. They always discourage me.)

  5. I know that this is a lot to read, but please read it. I do need help. (maybe not as much as others who have problems, but I do need help. Of course, though, I'm not making you read it and I thank you for entering into this topic to look at it.)

One day as I was talking to a friend, they talked about basketball. It reminded me of all the good times I had playing basketball. Since I live in Kentucky, it's pretty cold right now with the strange weather lately. Despite that, I still go outside with my jacket on, and shoot basketball when I have free time because I enjoy playing basketball.

Just a few days ago, I got a book called "Touchdown Alexander". This book is about how Shawn Alexander (a christian NFL Player) liked football, and made it a goal to be one of the best in football. He said that even back then, he loved to play football.

I also listened to many preachings on TBN, saying that if I felt like doing something (accomplishing a goal), that I should work on it daily. I'd love to become a NBA Christian, but I'm a sophmore in high school. I didn't play in middle school, or as a freshman in high school. I didn't even play this year! Despite this, I remember the preaching on TBN saying that no matter how hard your goal might be, if god truly wills you to accomplish that goal, you can accomplish that goal.

Now I'm not too shure, though, despite all of this. When I talked to my brother that the odds of me getting this book (which I bought in Florida on a trip) and listening to all of these preachings were slim. When he heard this, he said that I shouldn't think of the odds. After this, he told me a story of a person who randomly opened the bible and read it. Whatever scripture he read, he thought it was a message from god. One day, he read that your body was the temple of god. Then, he opened the bible to the old testament and read that the temple was full of smoke. So he smoked a lot, not knowing that smoking was wrong.

He also reminded me whether I was doing this for god, or for myself. When I thought of this, I remembered when I started to like basketball again (a few months ago, around January) that I remembered my sixth grade buddy ball team. We were the dominant team, and I was one of the key players. That made me feel good inside, but I'm not shure if this dedication to play basketball from nowhere was made by god (to give god the glory) or me (to give myself "glory", the type of "glory" I received when I played buddy basketball).

Please help me. If god does will me to become an NBA Christian, or even a College Basketball Christian, I should start to practice NOW before it's too late.

  6. Dag on you and your Gators!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :emot-hug::emot-hug::emot-hug::laugh::wub::wub::th_frusty::th_frusty:

(I'm a Kentucky Wildcats fan, all of us in Kentucky are usually BIG, BIG College Basketball Fans) We fired Tubby Smith (despite his good record) because he couldn't make it to the final four. (which I think is kind of funny, lol. I didn't want him to leave. I thought he was a good enough coach.)

  7. Calm down! I'm against these illegal immigrants as well. And the government was doing something about it, months ago, but have seemed to have stopped. Tell you the truth, I think the bill to pay millions and millions of dollars for a fence on the Mexican border isn't such a bad idea after all. (Tell you the truth, I think President Bush wanted to do something about the illegal immigrants, but Mexico complained to the UN that building the fence on our borders (which the fence would be on our side of the country) was causing problems) I used to like Mexico, but now I'm getting pretty mad at Mexico.

I'm not too sure if this is true or not, but I think the reason politicians said that Mexico didn't want the fence built was because that they were afraid it would stop illegal immigration. The politicians continued to talk, saying that illegal immigration actually brings a big chunk of money into Mexico.

  8. First of all, I would like to thank you, rtwo for replying to my questions. But there's one other question that I have. What are these demons allowed to do? Do they have a limit?

I was watching a ghost show last October (which I'm debating myself if we as christians should even watch these shows), I saw a woman (I beleive a psycic) going into a room that supposedly had a ghost. The ghost then seemed to go into her, and started to physically hurt her. After the event, she said that it was the scariest thing she ever went through.

One way that I could see the demon "attacking" her was because she was aware there was a demon in the room. (I'm not too sure, but I beleive the bible says that we should stay away and even pray that the devil and his demons won't get near us, but I definitely could be wrong seeing that I am a young christian) She knew that there was a demon in the room because I beleive, if my memory is right, she heard it with her own ears from the demon or "ghost", the words, "go away", warning her to stay away from the demon.

If you have anything to teach me about ghosts and demons, I would like to know. None of the preachers (except those on TBN) preach about ghosts being demons at all! But yet, you don't have to.

  9. I don't know. If Florida does have another bad game, and so does Ohio St. (which Yahoo Sports helped me see that this is very possible, I'll say Georgetown will win it. Thanks for agreeing with me, though.

I really hope that University of Florida's coach joins my team (University of Kentucky). I prefer Tubby Smith, though. Not because he's better or anything, but I heard (meaning a rumor) that he helped our players to receive the word of god wherever, whenever. (for example, they could be on the bus heading across the country, and Tubby Smith would find some way, some time for devotion every Sunday and Wednesday for the players)

  10. Does anyone have any explanations for my stories that I gave in page 3? The time that I heard these stories, was also the time when I seen my first car accident (I was not in the accident, I just seen it), and it was also the time when my school was receiving warnings of a person coming in with a gun (later we learned it was just a prank from a college person, and to my knowledge, he was arrested).

Around that time, I really questioned god. I kept asking myself, "If there is a loving god, why would he do all of this". Of course, this was pathetic of me because I already knew the answer. I know that god doesn't promise us an easy or safe life on this earth, but that no matter what happens, we will live perfect and safe lives at the end. Over time, I stopped doubting god.

Could anybody have an explanation for those ghost stories? Were they demons? Should they teach this stuff in church?

  11. I beleive that god is his own "gender". I don't beleive he is a male or a female. I beleive that us humans have male and female, but god is his own thing, different from humans.

A preacher on TBN told me this, and I beleive it.

  12. I'm not too sure what to believe. I never seen any ghosts before. It would make sense though that if people see angels that they could also see demons. I have two stories that were told to me from my english and spanish teacher.

    1) This was a story that I'm wondering if it really happened or not. Back when my spanish teacher had a girlfriend in high school, his girlfriend said that at late at night, she decided to go to bed. As she started to go up the stairs, she seen a child going down the stairs. (there was nobody in the house, and she had no younger sisters or brothers) This child's face, though, was completely black, as if the baby's face had been on fire! Immediately, she ran out of the house. When they were tearing down the stairs (they were moving away), they found a child's doll with its face completely black! My spanish teacher also said that when he went over to her house once, late at night, when everything was quiet, he could seriously hear doctors asking for different instruments in an operation!

    2) This story I can more easily believe. It came from my english teacher. One late night, her sister (who I had as a teacher in elementary school) had a slumber party with one of her friends (at about the age of 8). Outside of their room was a long hallway. When the two girls looked out to the hallway, they found this little girl with a flower dress, staring angrily at them (like in those horror movies, how you see their head down, and with their eyes staring right at the other person). Despite all they did, which wasn't much (cover their heads with the blanket, closing their door, etc.), the girl wouldn't go away. Eventually, they closed their eyes and went past the ghost (staying close to the wall). They then reached my english teacher's room, where for the next hour they cried.

  13. Kentucky lost in the SEC tournament to Missisippi St. One of our Kentucky players (Thomas) got a penalty for walking away from a free throw! That gave Missisippi St. just enough time to throw it in and to make a three-pointer to go into overtime.

At the last seconds in overtime, with Missipi St. up by two, we missed a layup, and we lost to Missisippi State.

  14. Say a person does get saved. For a few years, they go around to people talking about Jesus and the Gospel. Suddenly, they think their salvation is permanent, so for the rest of their life, they drink, say the lords name in vain, steal from people, break the law, buy drugs, etc.. Is this person still saved?

If you look at Judas, Jesus chose him to be one of his followers. Did Judas go to heaven? If he did, then OSAS is true. Keep in mind, though, that Jesus called Judas a 'devil'. I beleive this means that Judas didn't go to heaven because of his betrayal, therefore proving that OSAS is false. You can backslide.

  15. I'd say Ohio State will win the NCAA Tournament. (And the UK (University of Kentucky) Wildcats don't stink, they lost only by 3 points to Florida back when they were #1 in the nation)

  16. Sorry that I misworded that, but what I was wondering was if that Judas realized what he had done was wrong because of the holy spirit. I know that the holy spirit wouldn't lead anyone to sin. (And I admit, I should be more aware of what I type)

Another question that I have is that was told that if you killed yourself that you wouldn't go to heaven. Is this true? And what about the Antichrist? (I'm a young christian, so I'm not too shure about these questions)

  17. UK Wildcats! I have to admit that they probably won't make it very far this year. In about two or three years, they should be really good. (They're goinna beat Florida March 4!)

  18. I don't mean to get off topic, but what about the antichrist? Will he have a will, or will he be destined to go against god? And about Judas, I'm still not shure if he was saved or not. Jesus called him a devil, but after he had given the Romans Jesus, he found out what he did was wrong. I'm not shure if it's in the bible or not, but if my memory is right, Judas was filled with sorrow, went to a tree, and hung himself. Was this the work of the holy ghost?
