CoC believes that you are not saved if you have not been baptizd in water. They believe in faith plus works. Most believe in no musical instruments. They do not believe in OSAS which is one good thing in their favor.

Oral Roberts did a wonderful work in praying for the sick. I have great respect for this man and thank God for his obedience to his call.

2 Peter 1:10 - Why would Peter tell us to make our calling and election sure, if it is a sure, irrevocable thing? 1 Corinthians 9:27 - Paul claimed that it was possible that he could be rejected. Why shouldn't we? 1 Corinthians 10:12 - Why would Paul tell those who had an irrevocable salvation to take heed lest they fall? 1 John 2:24 - Why did John say, "If" what you heard from the beginning abides in you you also will abide in the Son and in the Father if it is impossible to do otherwise? Hebrews 10:26-29 - Is the Hebrew writer wrong in stating that Christians can sin willfully as to have no hope? Not that this passage states that these were "sanctified" but now "insult the Spirit." 2Pet. 2:20, 21- Did Peter speak falsly when he decalred that individuals could be saved and then fall away to a worse state than before their obedience? How could this happen if salvation is irrevocable? Philip. 4:13; Rev. 3:5 - These passages teach that our names can be written in the Book of Life and that they can also be erased. Surly one would have to be saved to have his name written in the Book of Life. How could one have his name erased if salvation is irrevocable? 1Tim. 4:1-2 - Paul declared that some "will fall away from the faith". What did he mean? You can't fall away from something at which you have never arrived. 1Tim. 1:9 - Paul also stated that some had "suffered shipwreck in regard to their faith." Does this not mean one can have faith and then destroy it? Lk. 8:1 3- Jesus taught in the parable of the sower that some "hear and receive the word with joy....they believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away." Again how can you fall away from some which you have not arrived? Jesus said it is possible to fall away. Jn. 15:1-6- In Jesus stated that He is the vine and we are the branches. Note that those who do not "abide," i.e.continue, remain, in the Vine "he is thrown away as a branch, and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. (v.6) Note the condition, "If" you abide in Me, and My word abide in you..." (v. 7). Does this sound like one could be in Christ and then be rejected? 1Cor. 8:11; Rom. 14:13-15 - Notice who it is in these passages who can "perish" and be "destroyed," is it not a brother "for whom Christ died"? 1Cor. 15:1-3 - Why did the apostle speak of the gospel which he had preached in which the Corinthians had "received", in which they also stood, and by which they were also "saved," and then make it conditional based on "if you hold fast to the word." Why did he not say, 'a salvation that will never nor can ever be lost or abandoned'?

So I suppose you think you have refuted the Word of God with your opinions. Not so! You have said nothing that from the Bible. Just saying that "I don't believe it." does not answer anything except a deficiency of the knowledge of the Word. The Word of God is the final statement on anything that we say. If it says we can fall from Grace, then we can. I choose to stand upon the Word not on the mere opinons of men.

I believe that we are saved by grace (Eph. 2:8,9) but we can fall from grace (Gal. 5:2-4). We are justified by faith (Rom. 5:1) but our faith can become shipwrecked (1 Tim. 1:19,20) and cease to exist (Lk. 8:13; Rom. 11:19-23). We are not under the law (Rom. 6:14,15) but if you live according to the sinful nature you will die (Rom. 8:13). Paul taught against legalism (Gal. 5:3,4) but he also taught that no immoral, impure or greedy person has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God (Eph. 5:5-7). We are not saved by works (Eph. 2:8,9) but to reap eternal life and not destruction you must sow to please the Spirit and not the sinful nature (Gal. 6:8,9). God is faithful to us (1 Jn. 1:9; 1 Cor. 10:13) but we must be faithful to him to the very end of our lives to escape the lake of fire or second death (Rev. 2:10,11). God surely loves us (Jn. 3:16; Mk. 10:21; Rom. 8:35-39) but those who inherit the kingdom of God love God (Jam 2:5; 1 Cor. 2:9) and to love God means to obey his commands (Jn. 14:15; 1 Jn. 5:3). We have freedom in Christ (Gal. 5:1) but this freedom is not to indulge the sinful nature (Gal. 5:13; 1 Pet 2:16).

There is not a shred of evidence in the Bible for OSAS. All scriture teaches that it is possible to lose ones salvation. A christian is not to sin. The Bible does not teach a sinning religion. If a Christian should wilfully sin, we must repent of that sin. God will not just blink His eye at our sin.

I have listed just seven verses that are very good examples of being able to give up your eternal salvation. 2 Chronicles 15:2 "If you search for him, he will let himself be found by you; but if you leave him, he will leave you". Romans 8:13 "For if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live". 1 John 2:4-6 "The one who says, "I have come to know Him", and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him: the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked". 1 Timothy 4:1 "The Spirit says clearly that some people will abandon the faith in later times; they will obey lying spirits and follow the teachings of demons". 2 Timothy 2:12 "If we endure, we shall also reign with Him; If we deny Him, He also will deny us". John 6:66-68 "As a result of this many of His disciples withdrew, and were not walking with Him anymore. Jesus said therefore to the twelve, "You do not want to go away also, do you?" Simon Peter answered Him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? It is You who has the words of eternal life". John 15:4-6 "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you, unless you abide in Me. "I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit; for apart from Me you can do nothing. "If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch, and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned". As you can see there are a great many verses in the Bible that refer to the believer being able to voluntarily walk away from the Lord, to take up once again that sinful life, and become unsaved. However I think the verse that hits home the hardest is the following. 1 Chronicles 28:9 "If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you leave Him, He will cast you off forever

WN: Clinton-Obama tension threatens to boil over at Denver convention
nikos replied to WorthyNewsBot's topic in U.S. News
The real shadow that is cast over this convention is Obama's support of abortion and his liberal policies. There can be no greater shadow than to support the killing of innocent babies. They like to blame Clinton's but the blame is on themselves. And this shadow will not go away. In fact, if, God forbid, that Obama should win, there will be this shadow throughout his term of office. -
The foolish virgins said our lamps are gone out." This shows that their lamps were at one time burning or else they would not have gon out. These are people who have lost their salvation. Since they were dressed as virgins and with the wise virgins, I believe they are those in the church who have neglected their salvation and over time have lost out with God.
-
Oil is a type of the Holy Spirit. The virgins sybolize that some of the church will lose out with God and not be ready for the coming of the Lord. Those with oil in their lamps speak of the sleeping church. They are saved but they are asleep to the nearness of the coming of Christ. When the Bridegroom is announced the foolish, thought they could get in by just using anothers experience. But not so! Each of us must have an up to date relationship with the Saviour.
-
I tend to see the Holy Spirit as giving the power to endure. So I connect the two.

If hot air rises, why aren't more politicians floating?

Obama lies! Hillary lies! Seems to be the thing to do among the democrats!

After reading the article I was exhausted from laughing! Obama, a bridge builder!?! Obama the liberal! This man is so liberal he is off the charts! If you don't believe it wait til he gets into office, if indeed he does. This man is beyond belief! I am shocked that the American people are so fooled by him. It is so obvious. He does not follow the Jesus of the Bible as far as I'm concerned1 God have mercy on the USA!!!!!!
