Divorced in the world, but divorced in God's eyes?

That's a good point, I can see that.. but how do you reconcile 1 Corinthians 7:10-11 - that's what is seriously bothering me? I mean it is in the new testament...? -

Divorced in the world, but divorced in God's eyes?

The point is, she is still bound to her husband and should be reconciled to him, BUT she is free to divorce if there is adultery or abandonment by the unbelieving partner and is free to remarry if she wishes. ..to her original husband. Not a new one. No. If her husband committed adultery, or if he was an unbeliever and abandoned her, she is free to marry another man. BUT, she is also free to forgive her husband for his adultery and remarry him. But as for the unbelieving one, the Bible says we are not to be yoked with them. Please show me where in the scripture it says she can marry another man? -

or this one? there are things that we will simply never comprehend this side of meeting face to face with God. what we do know, without a doubt, is that EVERY sin is forgivable, except for blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. and once God has forgiven a sin, it is as if it had never happened. it is a clean slate. the sin of divorce, for someone who has repented, no longer exists in their record. and if the sin has been both forgiven and wiped clean as though it had never existed, then that means that God won't ever come back later and say "but remember when?" God's forgiveness is total and complete. what one has been forgiven for can never come back to haunt them. therefore, a person who has been divorced, and who has repented, is not forbidden from marrying again. Hi LadyC, my concern was never about sin in terms of a person's choice for divorce being forgivable or not. I was just wondering if a person gets divorced can they re-marry and if so with whom? -

That doesn't even address the verse I gave in 1 Corinthians.. seriously, I don't needed any further commentaries on parts we have already discussed. I KNOW what circumstances that the Bible allows a divorce. My whole question was can this woman be married again. And to me it looks like a no. 1 Corinthians 7:8-10 8 So I say to those who aren’t married and to widows—it’s better to stay unmarried, just as I am. 9 But if they can’t control themselves, they should go ahead and marry. It’s better to marry than to burn with lust. 10 But for those who are married, I have a command that comes not from me, but from the Lord. A wife must not leave her husband. 11 But if she does leave him, let her remain single or else be reconciled to him. And the husband must not leave his wife. The Amplified Bible puts it more clearly.. 1 Corinthians 7:10-11 (Amplified Bible) 10 But to the married people I give charge--not I but the Lord--that the wife is not to separate from her husband.11 But if she does [separate from and divorce him], let her remain single or else be reconciled to her husband. And [i charge] the husband [also] that he should not put away or divorce his wife. -

I know Jesus' word regarding marriage but that does not give me any solid assurance because God has spoken about it as well. Well here is what is bothering me... So... in the eyes of God, it would be a sin to marry a woman who is divorced. At least this is what I gather from my reading of the scriptures. And we know also from the Old Testament how passionately God hates divorce. -
Hey ya'll I have a question. Lets say a man and a woman were arranged together for marriage and after a couple of years it did not go well so the wife fled and divorced her husband. Let say that the reason she left was because of adultry in the relationship by the other partner. Biblicially speaking I know that she has a "okay" to leave her husband and get a divorce. However, even if she did that and is divorced in the world, is she divorced in God's eyes? Another point of interest. God said that the two shall become one. Are they still one even after the divorce (spiritually speaking)?

Oh yeah, been there before. My heart was aching too just like how you felt. What I suggest is that you pray for that person that he can find it in his heart to forgive you so that God's mercy is extended to him. I also would just try my best to forget about it. The reason why you keep thinking about it is because the devil found an opportunity to condemn you. If you see the man again, you can offer to buy him a drink but so far from what you said I belive you've done enough.. it's all about him now. Just pray for him to forgive you. That's the important part.

If you have a son, name him Zebedee lol.... that name means "gift of God".. Matthew 4:21-22 A little farther up the shore he saw two other brothers, James and John, sitting in a boat with their father, Zebedee, repairing their nets. And he called them to come, too. They immediately followed him, leaving the boat and their father behind.

That's a nice name. Personally I love the name Rebbecca, which means "to bind". I like the name the meaning is a little worrisome.. we all know how Jacob's heart was binded to Rebbecca lol.... You could also call her Mical (not Michael).. its Hebrew and means "who resembles God?"

I hope she wins the court case.

Really? These people are just getting too good at what they're doing. It really IS time to move on from the technology most banks are using. It's not like they can't afford to. I rely heavily on my debit card so this is kind of alarming.. I heard about cloning a couple of years ago when there was a scandal here in Canada with gas stations cloning debit cards. The big give away was this, that any machine that had 2 wires going into it was a very clear give away that you should not use the machine. So ever since it became automatic for me to check if there was more than one wire going to the machine at the cash register.... still I hope my bank can do security checks like what Islam2Christ was saying above..

Are debit cards with Chips safe?

Definitely is a demon, sheer terror all of the sudden is a big sign it's them, good thing your spiritual eyes are not opened to see what I saw. In all the battles I've been through with demons for 3 years now, this one worked the best. I just did what Michael did - it never fails. Jude 1:9 But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not dare to bring a slanderous accusation against him, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!"

I know your trying to encourage people with this message.. but really this is can be such a heavy burden for those of us who have struggled with worldly desires. It really does not help but ends up being a little condemning. That's why I stay clear of giving these kinds of messages to people.. just a thought.

I think we will remember. In the book of revelation (don't have time to look it up), the tribulation saints who are in Heaven ask God 'when are you going to avenge the harm done to us?' or something similar to that.. and God tells them to wait a little longer. So definitely when we are in Heaven we will remember what happened on Earth but its quite possible that after some time, we will forget about all those old things since we are in a New Heavens and a NEW Earth, and all things have become NEW and God will wipe away all our tears.

I always get so embarassed talking about relationships with my kids. They play innocent but I know they know... what's surprising is that some of them who are in 8th grade (the females) know things they shouldn't at that age..... but thanks for sharing, I'm going to see whats the best way to approach this..

lol... I know now not to hand you the keys (just kidding) -
praying kiddo.. this is the last time it will bother you

I think I just need to apply some military like discipline to my prayer time. I used to do that last summer until one man who didn't know me spoke to me at church that God saw the dedication with my prayer time he even knew what time of day it was and how I actually did it.. and I got lazy from there on because I knew God liked my effort. A similar situation happened too with the Sunday school classes.. I need to not be swayed by these messages unless God says to stop.

Well MG, I'm not praying a lot these days... and when I realize just how little I pray each week I am disappointed with myself. That seems like a good measure to me.. I'm not trying to be a super saint. I just know that I can make an impact on the world through prayer, yet I'm not doing it... so that's why I'm disappointed..
-
God has proven to me time and time again that my prayers to him are heard and that they get accomplished almost immediately most of the time. Yet, for some reason I just don't pray often.... are you like this? I don't know what it is, maybe I'm just being lazy.. but there are some prayers that seem like I never get answers to - the ones where it is for myself. Does that happen to you?
