  1. ...So if a Christian dies from poison, then they must not have been a true believer? I'm pretty sure there is a fine line between foolishness (purposely drinking something poisonous)...presumption (thinking that God is going to go against the natural laws and heal you from this poison that you so foolishly drank)...and faith (being forced to drink something poisonous against your will or without you knowing about it and knowing that God is your protection). Jesus said it for a reason right...what else could it mean? J
  2. Hey great, people have a verse to stand on to drink coffee now. "if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them...."
  3. If He's not putting His faith in us...we're in trouble. It is imposible to please God without faith (Hebrews 11:6). If God wants us to walk by faith, then wouldn't He give us the means to do it by...by being an example for us. God will never ask His children to do something that He wouldn't do Himself. He created this world by faith; He created the heavens by faith; He created the stars by faith; He created you and I by faith; and just like we putting our faith in His word, He put His faith in what He said..."Light be, and light was". He speaks those this that be not as though they were (Romans 4:17). I think It would be blasphemous to say that God dosn't put His faith in us. Look at Gideon in Judges chapter 6 when he declared that "I am the least of my Fathers house." A few verses before God says to him through an arc angel "God is with you, you mighty man of valor!" Gideon wasn't seeing himself as a man of valor at that time and obviously he wasn't acting like a man of valor because he saw himself as a wimp. But what does God do? He puts his faith in Gideon...He called that thing that was not as though it was and said "thou mighty man of valor!" What an awsome God. We ought to rejoice that He puts His faith in us. He calls us things that we are not yet as though we were! What a great God! welcome to worthy by the way. J
  4. It would depend on how and in what context the word was used How - How God want's us to use it Context - Bible J Words don't have the exact same meaning throughout the whole Bible. You need to look at each individual context (occurrence) to determine how the author was using it. I realise this, that is why I asked if you have studied it, what have you found? It can have a variety of meanings and applications. Was there a particular passage you were interested in, or a summary of the various meanings and applications? Can you give me some examples of some varieties of meanings and applications...cuz I am not quiet sure where you are going with this. Was my question too broad? How can I be more specific? With respect, J

  7. Prosperity - wholness in every area of life (John 10:10)
  8. Amen Sister!!! Keep reminding yourself of these scriptures and even remind God of them too...He likes it when His children remind Him of His word.
  9. I really don't think you have to be concerned about anyone with this unpardenable sin. Hebrews does talk about once someone is enlightened, meaning they are a mature Christian...filled with the Holy Ghost (spake with toungues)...and they know that Jesus is the only way to salvation and they Love God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strenth...God has given them revelation into His word and they are knowledgable on God's word, if this person totaly turns around and all of a sudden denies Christ and want's nothing to do with Christ anymore...Hebrews says in 6:4-6 4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, 5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, 6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame If these people fall away...they need another Jesus to come down to sacrifice Himself for what they did because they have totally denied the sacrifice that has made them righteous in the first place. mind you these people are not decieved about the salvation of Jesus Christ...they know that He is the only way to salvation. This does not happen very often at all...I've only heard of one occurance and it was a pastors wife (a man of God was praying for her and God literally had to tell him to stop praying for her...she has commited the unpardinable sin, then God proceeded to show him Hebrews 6:4-6). Both of my sisters claimed to be a Christian once, they read the bible but they by far didn't fit the categories of Heb 6:4&5...they were just young and were deceived out of believing that Jesus is the only way. even though they professed to be Christians and yet denied Him later on in life...they can still come to repentance simply because they have really never tasted of the heavenly gift. Hope this clears things up. J
  10. I've seen some pretty good posts...thank you and please keep them comeing. I just found these verses which I believe reflects prosperity pretty well 2 Corinthians 5:19 in the AMP "It was God [personally present] in Christ, reconciling and restoring the world to favor with Himself, not counting up and holding against [men] their trespasses [but cancelling them], and committing to us the message of reconciliation (of the restoration to favor)." Vs. 21 in the KJV "For He hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him." Peace, J
  11. I heard someone say once that sugar is becoming more abused than alcohol now days. However I belive that Alcohol has a greater negative effect than sugar does. But most all the abuse comes down to one thing...a lack of knowledge of the substance. thanks J
  12. I was just wondering what everyone thought of prosperity. Do you have a favorit definition for it? If you have studied what the bible says about prosperity, what have you found? Peace J
  13. the only sin that cannot be forgiven is choosing continued separation from God and dying in that spiritual condition. As for the issue of blasphemy of the Holy Spirit... A Christian cannot commit that sin. There is no NT basis for anyone to claim that a Christian can commit that sin, EVER. good answer shiloh.
  14. Right on Sister. You are right. There are some things that we are not going to understand fully here on this earth. Some things are just on a need to know basis and if we don't need to know, then instead of asking why...ask now what? blessings to you sister. J
  15. Hey there blessing, Here is a question that I want you to really think about. How did you feel inside when you helped that girl get out of wicca and satinism?
  16. Fearing God does not mean to be afraid of God. God wants to come into intimate fellowship with every single man and woman on earth. This is the reason why we were created...to be one big happy family. If you are afraid of your significant other, weather you have one or not, you are not going to get too close in an intimate relationship with her right? Fearing God simply means to regard Him as Holy and to have the up most reverence for Him. Lev. 10:3 says "And Moses said to Aaron, "This is what the LORD spoke, saying: 'By those who come near Me I must be regarded as holy; And before all the people I must be glorified. NKJV We enter into His presence with a reverence and a respect for His authority in our lives. Walking in Victory J
  17. So the Holy Spirit isn't trying to reach the unsaved? Think you might want to rethink that a bit. Jesus dosn't say that The Holy Spirit is only going to testify of Me in the believer. Point blank, rejecting Jesus Christ as Lord and savior is blaspheming The Holy Spirit for reasons I mentioned in my last post. And yes that passage of scripture is talking about when the pharisees rejected the miracles that jesus did...but wasn't Jesus doing those miracles by the power of The Holy Spirit who was in Him? When was the last time you went out and did the will of God in and of your own power...can't be done...you have to have the power of The Holy Spirit with you to do His will. The Holy Spirit will always work through God's children to testify of Jesus Christ. I do agree with you that some people can be so burdened with life that they think the only way out is to kill themselves...as I mentioned in my last post...they were deceived. They didn't quite learn that they could have cast all those cares/burdens on the Lord...no matter how touph the going gets...God is still the God of comfort and strenghth...you just have to put your trust in Him. J
  18. Angelique, 1Peter 5:7 "casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you." Matthew 6:25-34 - "don't worry saying..." 2 Corinthians 2:14 - let Him lead you into triumph. This is not impossible because you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you (Phil 4:13). You shouldn't hate what God loves (John 3:16). You should hate what God hates, and that is anything that falls under the curse (Gal. 3:13). why am I quoting so many scripture? because "all the promises of God in Him [Christ] are Yes, and in Him Amen...Who also HAS sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee" (2 Cor. 1:20,22). Follow the Peace of God which rules in your heart. J
  19. Thank God for The freedom that we have here in The USA. Moreover, Thank God for the freedom we have in Christ...that's true freedom
  20. Lovinghim, That's because He allready HAS healed all our illnesses. The redemptive work of the Blood of Christ is complete. He not only died on the cross for our sins, but also for our illnesses, mentally and physically...you name it, if it had anything to do with the curse, Christ has redeemed us from it (Gal 3:13). That is the problem...people are waiting on God to do something when really He allready did it over 2000 years ago. God is waiting on us to receive it! Maybe this will help clear up some questions on suicide. Christ's redemptive work is even for the person who is deceived into takeing their own lives. Have you ever been decieved? if they have made Jesus their Lord and savior and they have confessed their sins(the ones that they know are sin), then God is faithfull and just to forgive them their sins AND ALL their unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). ALL their unrighteousness...ALL their unrighteousness...ALL their unrightreousness...ALL their unrighteousness! It is goofy to say that God would send someone to hell just because they killed themselves. The only sin that is ever going to lead to hell is, Jesus talked about it and it has allready been mensioned on this thread, the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. In other words the only sin that ever leads to hell is the rejection of Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior. John 15:26 says that the Holy Spirit "will testify of Me [Christ]." So The Holy Spirit will always tell people that Christ is the only way to salvation, and if they reject that, they are blaspheming the Holy Spirit. What they are saying, in essence, to The Holy Spirit is "your word isn't good enouph for me to trust it, you're a liar, I don't believe you." Sounds like blasphemy to me. So if you can say that every single person that has and will commite sucide has and will reject Christ, then and only then can you say that all people that commit suicide will go to hell. That's my take...hope it helps. I said all that realising that you agree with the fact that not all people that commit suicide go to hell. J
